Born in Brooklyn of a mother who was Puerto Rican and a father of Haitian descent, young graffiti artist Jean-Michel Basquiat's legend has lived longer than he did. His works, often labeled neo-Expressionist, emerged from his graffiti and the beginnings of what is now known as hip-hop. A child of the sixties (born, in fact, in 1960), he was internationally recognized in his early 20s, and was gone by 27. He was a protégé of Andy Warhol.
His work is mostly untitled, as is this image, but it is generally known as Bird. We love the way the main focus of the image is flying, but the outer image may indicate that this is an angel

Art Postcard - Cat from 25 Cats Named Sam by Andy Warhol
More Cats
More Postcards
The greatest pop artist of them all, Andy Warhol, was at first an illustrator. This wonderful print from his hand-colored offset print, Cat from "25 Cats Named Sam....," is among our favorites. The original was a mere 9-1/8 inches by 6 inches, so this isn't much smaller.
Imagine a green cat, or is s/he green with envy, or is s/he just simply, Sam? The print was originally produced around 1954.

It’s not just a photograph, it’s a work of Pop Art!
The Pop Cam produces photos that mimic the image repetition and saturated color palettes of famous pop artists like Andy Warhol and Roy Lichtenstein. One snap of the Pop Cam takes four pictures in the span of one second and preserves them in four different hues on one single print.
Each 4 inch x 2-1/2 inch x 1-1/2 inch plastic camera uses any standard 35mm film (use color film for the best effect) and has no flash. With some imagination and a little experimentation you might capture that perfect Pop Cam picture that will lead to your fifteen minutes of fame. Instructions included.
35mm film not included.

Andy Warhol Portrait Magnet: I am a deeply superficial person
Wow! WE don't often see photographic portraits of the king of Pop Art that look like this. Andy Warhol began his art career as a serious artist and turned commercial. He almost single-handedly created the method of living from one's art income. This moving portrait of a young Andy reads:

Born on August 6, 1928, Andy Warhol died on February 22, 1987. Pop artist, filmmaker, writer, socialite and entrepreneur, Warhol's paintings of Campbell Soup cans and celebrities are some of the most famous images of the 1960s. Critics were scandalized by Warhol's open embrace of market culture, but Warhol didn't care, gladly attracting the limelight. In fact, some critics believe that if it were not for his visibility as a celebrity magnet, his artwork would not be as famous. We don't care - we love it either way!
Well, the great Pop Artist himself is now a finger puppet! We LOVE the shiny red jacket that matches his red glasses! He would be so proud. On your finger, he's a puppet; on your fridge, he's a magnet! Why not keep him on your workbench or table as inspiration - what a muse he might make!

In the future, everyone will be world famous for fifteen minutes. -Andy Warhol
Andy Warhol has been called the pope of the 20th-century pop culture, a one-man show who dazzled America with his innovative influence on not only modern art, but film, music, fashion and even the idea of celebrity itself! Inside this fun box, you'll get a unique peek at that life. Just like the endless boxes of stuff Warhol himself collected, there's a little bit of everything in here:

Fantasy Love much better than Reality Love.
