Hand Forged Bronze Crocodile Box
This sturdy little box features a lid with the image of a crocodile atop it. It reminds us of a sarcophagus or other funeral-related containers that you might find in an ancient pyramid. The image of the crocodile is also useful as a handle to remove the lid.
It's size belies such a use: the base measures 2-1/4 inches long by 1 inch wide and, without the lid, about 1 inch high. The lid adds another 1/4 to 1/2 inch.
Each rough-hewn box is different from the next, as each is made individually by skilled traditional craftsmen.

Recycled Paper Bowl with Lid

Adapting necessity to art, traditional basket-making techniques are used to make these wonderful little pots or bowls. Artisans use recycled posters from printing companies. First they make long flat strips of paper, dipped in glue - then dried. Then, after the strips dry, the artisans wet them again form them into useable shapes, like this little bowl with a lid. It is all held together with the glue as the strips are coiled. Sturdy household items are the result.
The brightly colored random patterns are derived from the shapes and the contents of the posters used, so you may see some printed words on yours, too.
We were particularly enchanted with this little piece as it is made of two pieces. You might use them together as intended, or, better yet, use the lid as a small dish for wrapped candies or the like.
The pot measures about 5 inches in diameter at the top and about 3 inches on the bottom. It stands a little over 3 inches high. The lid sits down in side the bowl, but if standing alone, it sits about 2 inches high.
Each bowl is different, not only because it is handmade, but, because the paper strips are never the same from item to item. So, please let SilverCrow choose one for you.

Old Fashioned Chenille Bunny on Matching Easter Bucket
Our sweet bunnies are either yellow or pink and sit in a sprightly manner atop their matching Easter buckets. The bunnies are made in the tradition of old German Easter favors - of chenille and pressed paper. The little buckets are pressed paper with découpaged Easter scenes on the front. Each little bucket measures about 6 by 4 inches.
These are now retired, originally produced in 2006.

Vintage Feed the Kitty Hallowe'en Treat Bag
What fun to use a vintage bag for your treats (or tricks!). Our vintage shopping bay style bag measures 17 inches high (including the twisted cord handle). It was originally a promotional item for buyers of ESSO gasoline in the 1950s!
We were delighted to come across some of these. We've always been partial to the ESSO Tiger. His picture is featured along with the perfect sentiment for Hallowe'en travels:

We love little vintage tins hailing from the 1930s. We just love the name FIXACO and the little guy on the top! Measuring just 1-5/8 inch wide by 1-1/8 high and about 1/4 inch deep, they are perfect for those little items on your workbench or studio table. And they can be used in any assemblage as well. The lid slides off, so you might convert one into a pocket shrine! These show their age with a few tiny scratches, but the colors are vibrant and, overall, they are in great condition.
Each vintage container boasts the same graphics and writing. On the top it reads:

Papier Mâché Cone Ornament

Beaded Organdy Heart Bag with Tassel
Our fancy heart shaped bag is made of a heavy slightly metallic pink organdy material. Each bag features a tassel at the bottom and a satin flower with glass bead bangles attached just below the satin ribbon pull which ends with two round glass beads. The inside bag is about 5-1/2 inches by 5 inches. The whole bag measures 10 inches from the top to the bottom of the tassel.
Although designed as a gift bag, we think it would be perfect for bridesmaids!

Elegant Fabric & Bead Victorian Cone Bag
Our elegant paper cone is draped with golden fabric and trimmed with a tassel, satin flowers and beads. The cone has a organza top with a ribbon drawstring ending in glass beads.
Although this cone is made to act as a favor container, it would make a lovely tree ornament or decorative accent in any Victorian room - or in a little girl's room.
The organza top pushes down into the cone after the cone is filled. From the end of the tassel to the top of the organza top when extended is 12 inches. The cone itself is 2-1/2 inches round at the top and 6 inches long.

Hindu Gods-Goddesses zipper Bag
The very first time we saw these little zipper bags, we knew we had to offer them to SilverCrow customers. The coated viscose is printed with vibrantly colored renderings of Hindu Gods and Goddesses.
They are all hand-made by artisans, so each is different. Colors and images vary tremendously. But each is a work of art in itself.
The fabric is no other - it is waterproof. However, because it has a standard zipper, it is not leak proof. Equally appropriate as a gift sack, change purse or treasure pouch, you'll want several of these little bags. At approximately 3-1/4 inches by 3-1/2 inches, you'll find them very versatile.
