We have long been enchanted by scraps and die cuts - especially the vintage ones. And, of course, many are hard to find - especially those of the Krampus Devil. Known for his connection with Santa Claus, or Saint Nicholas, the Krampus delivered negative rewards to those who made the naughty list.
This extremely rare and striking scrap was created in the early to mid 20th century by the Heller Company, who produced gorgeous pieces in Austria. We guess that this fellow must be out to scare those bad little children who didn't mind their parents!
He measures approximately 3-1/8 inches high by 1-5/8 inch wide.

Saint Michael the Archangel is known as the leader of the army of God during the Lucifer (the Devil) uprising. Devotion to the Archangel is common to Christians, Muslims and Jews alike and there are writings about him in all three cultures. He has been credited with leading the protection against the Anti-Christ, or the devil.
Saint Michael is commonly represented with his wings in full view with sword in hand while crushing Lucifer with the heal of his left foot.
On the reverse is a Prayer to Saint Michael:

What a crew we found in this jail. It almost looks like a party! This little red diorama box features three guests of the devil. A lady of the evening, a convict and a drinker (who can't even stand up) join the devil in a small cell! The background is black with white bars.
This special diorama is created almost like a shrine or nicho. Each of the little people has been hand-made and painted. The entire box measures about 4 inches wide and about 2-3/4 inches high.

Fashioned from a Mexican Loteria card, our little diablito is up to no good. Perhaps you have a devilish friend who might need to wear this. Or, better yet, maybe your are ornery yourself! Perfect for Hallowe'en or any other time you might want to evoke some fiendish remarks, this little pendant has been hand made by Athena Designs of Olympia Washington.

Hand-Made Tin Ornament - Standing Diablo with Wings

First, these tin ornaments are cut and then hammered. Well, sometimes they are hammered and then cut. The hammering creates the embossed design within the ornament - the accents on the diablo's body, the indentations in his wings and clothing. Then the ornament is painted with vibrant paints or inks.
There is a hanging hole atop the devil's head - use it with a nail to add it to your wall décor or with a string or ribbon to hang it on a tree or package. Each ornament differs slightly as each is hand made. But they all measure just about 4-3/4 inches high by about 3-1/4 inches wide.

Mini Hand-Painted Ornament - Blue Devil with Long Tongue

Although these ornaments are meant to represent the devil, we're not so sure as they are all quite comical and fun! The artist, Jimenez, has sculpted natural materials and clay to create his masks. So there are so very few that look even close to the same, so we are quite lucky that we have some that are quite similar. These are miniature versions of the masks displayed on so many walls and worn during so many holiday celebrations.
Each time we order these scary but fun masks, we get completely different designs. Even though some are our favorites, we may never see them again!
No two are exactly the same, so please let us choose one for you. There is a self-loop on the back for hanging. The approximate measurements are 2-1/4 inches high by 2-1/2 inches wide.

The artist has adapted a traditional mini nicho (about 3-1/2 inches high) to feature El Cirquero (the Circus Performer) from a traditional Loteria deck. Double Door Puzzle (aka, Devil's Door Puzzle)

This clever old-timey puzzle is simple, yet at the same time, complex - or at least, hard to win. There are two balls. The object of the puzzle is this: get the two balls (only one is visible in our photograph) into the center passageway. Once there, then manipulate the balls - one to either side of the passage way arch.
What we love about this little game is it's old-time workmanship and it's look and feel. This classic dexterity puzzle is well made of cardboard box with a clear plastic window on top. The object of the puzzle is printed on the box lid, which measures 3-3/4 by 2-1/2 inches (and is 1-1/2 inch high). The box lid can re-cover the plastic top for safekeeping when not in play.

Chenille pipe cleaners are a staple for crafting and have been for many years! Our ornery little devil measures about 2-1/2 inches high (not including the hanging string. Now you can maneuver his legs to create a new position if you like, but that might alter his height as well. His tri-pointed tail is also movable as are his arms.

Postcard of Frida Kahlo & Diego Rivera con Judas
Our Day Of The Dead Papier Mâché Judas is a traditional character present in many Mexican and Central American celebrations. By tradition, Judas characterizations are made in the images of those in authority - such as judges and the police. In celebrations, they are filled with gun powder and fireworks and when exploded, a great cloud of paper scraps and smoke appears, the paper raining down around the celebrants.
Of course, ours is an image only (no gun powder or fireworks are included). Figures like this little fellow were made even more popular by Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera as they began to collect them along with other local folk art.

Every Judas is vibrantly colored in reds, blues and yellows. The approximate measurements are 15-1/2 inches from the tip of his horns to the bottoms of his feet. From wingtip to wingtip, he is about 7-1/4 inches wide. And, as he sits on your shelf or chair, he measures 7 inches from front to back.

Can you really reach the devil online? Someone thinks so! What a great gift for someone who spends just a little too much time on the internet. The nicho itself is hand made tin and glass, and then it is hand painted with brightly-colored details.
Created by Cielito Lindo Estudio from San Miguel Allende, this fun nicho is very specially made by traditional artisans. These vary slightly as all are handmade and painted.
