Oxidized Sterling Silver Intricate Chandelier Earrings
More Earrings
More Frida Kahlo
These stunningly intricate oxidized sterling earrings are totally handmade, making them even more special than just their design. We love the darker silver, thinking it to make these look as though they might really be antique. Each earring features 5 dangles at the bottom.
The French hooks make them hang nicely with a flower at the top and a tilted filigree moon. The are reminiscent of the earrings that Frida Kahlo might have worn.
These are smaller than most chandelier earrings, so they are appropriate for both day and evening wear. They measure about 1 inch long from the top of the flower and about 1/2 inch wide.
These are hand made in Mexico of sterling silver and then oxidized to create the dark patina by traditional artisans who have learned their trade from their relatives and other traditional artists.

Mexican Sugar Skull Molds - Frida Kahlo
More Day of the Dead Sundries
More Frida & Diego
Sugar Skulls are a traditional folk art from Central and southern Mexico. They are customarily used in Day of the Dead celebrations. Local village open air markets offer mounds of colorful sugar skulls for sale during the week preceding the Day of the Dead. Now you can make your own Frida Kahlo Sugar Skulls. The final skulls measure approximately 2-1/2 to 2-3/4 inches wide and about 2/3 inch thick.
Over the last few years, people have been producing non-traditional candies and other items such as soaps and plaster images in the same manner of the sugar skulls.
Our molds can be used to make the traditional sugar skulls, chocolate skull candies and even soaps and plaster items.
Our Frida mold is great for chocolate or soap as the intricate details are harder to decorate, but the traditional sugar mixture works well in either mold.
If you are going to make plaster or soap skulls, please do not use the same mold for making edible items.
Instructions included.

The simple yet lovingly detailed image has been created by traditional artisans who have learned their trade from their family generations before them. These vary slightly from one to the next as they are milagros, not charms.

Frida's Garden Fabric on Tea-Dye Background
More Fabric
Alexander Henry fabrics are known for their versatility and cutting edge designs. Their talented in-house artists paint each design by hand, and the company screen-prints the final product on 100% cotton. Fabric is 44 inches wide.
Much of the symbolism in Frida Kahlo's paintings can be seen throughout this gorgeous fabric. Her native Mexican culture was so prominent in her paintings and writings and that imagery translates beautifully into this high-quality fabric.
While there are no specific references or explicit renderings of her actual artwork here, it almost seems as though Frida herself created this fabric. The colors are subtly exotic, designed by Phillip de León and shows stylized depictions of Kahlo amidst jungle surroundings, with her beloved monkeys. There are exotic plants, flowers and native fruits and even some blue snakes!
Two excerpts from Frida's writings are also incorporated in a handwriting style close to her own:
Pies para qué las quiero, si tengo alas pa' volar. (Feet - what do I need them for if I have wings to fly?)
Tengo ganas a vivir. Ya comencé a pintar. (I desire to live. I have already begun to paint.)
What wonderful things you can create with such fabric: book covers, quilts, tote bags, clothing, scarves, lampshades and more.

There are exotic plants, flowers and native fruits and even some blue snakes!
Frida Kahlo Reflections Sticky Notes
More Journals & Notepads
Frida Kahlo's life was short (from July 6, 1907 to July 13, 1954) but certainly full! A Mexican painter deeply influenced by indigenous culture, Kahlo suffered a series of physical traumas. She contracted polio at age 6, and at 19 sustained injuries in a bus accident from which she was plagued by extreme pain for the rest of her life. Her tumultuous marriage with painter Diego Rivera led her to take many lovers, male and female, including revolutionary Leon Trotsky. Drawing on her personal life, Kahlo's work is characterized by its stark portrayal of pain.
This little set of sticky notes and colorful page markers celebrates the life and artwork of Frida Kahlo.
When closed, the book measures 3-1/4 by 4-1/4 inches and will fit nicely into a portfolio.

Diego Rivera & Frida Kahlo Finger Puppet Set (aka Magnets)
The passionate, yet tumultuous marriage between Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera is legendary. Theirs was one of the most famous alliances between artists. His straying eye led Frida to take many lovers, male and female, including revolutionary Leon Trotsky.
Diego Rivera was among the greatest of the Mexican muralists that flourished after the country's revolution. Influenced by Cubism as well as pre-Columbian wall paintings, Rivera's works are characterized by his fervent belief in Marxism.
A Mexican painter deeply influenced by indigenous culture, Frida Kahlo suffered a series of physical traumas. She contracted polio at age 6, and at 19 sustained injuries in a bus accident from which she was plagued by extreme pain for the rest of her life. Drawing on her personal life, Kahlo's work is characterized by its stark portrayal of pain
Now you can create your own tumult on your fridge with these two great little magnets. Release your inner ethno-surrealist with Frida and paint a tiny leftist mural with Diego. Or, just enjoy knowing that they are together again, right in your own home!

Frida Kahlo & Diego Rivera Paper Dolls
More Paper Dolls
This wonderful collection includes 29 outfits for Frida and 2 complete outfits for Diego as well as 2 additional jackets. The printing is as vibrant as Frida's beloved strikingly vibrant colors of her homeland. The book measures approximately 12 by 9 inches and contains 16 pages of costumes.
Frida Kahlo is an exceptional figure in Mexican history; her relationship with Diego Rivera was, for 25 years, the center around which the outstanding national, artistic, social and political groups of the first half of the 20th century, revolved. However, far beyond her role as Diego's wife, Frida was an artist who made an unquestionable contribution to the Mexican expressive arts; she was also a woman of vanguardist social ideas who held considerable sway over her generation.
Frida carefully cultivated her image; as an adolescent, her short hair and dresses clearly belied her special tastes. Later she began to use regional costumes, above all those worn by the Tehuanas or women of the Tehuantepec zone of Oaxaca, Mexico. Often adorned with flounces, pleated ruffles and beautiful embroidery, these traditional garments would subsequently become her personal trademark. Her distinctive style blended imitation and find jewelry as well.
By using full-length dresses or jeans, Frida sought to conceal her thinner right leg, which, originally a consequence of polio, was worsened by an accident at the age of eighteen. Although Frida was destined to spend her life amid physicians, hospitals and operations, she never ceased to cultivate an image that portrayed her as brimming with life and color.
We can imagine the ritual of her daily preparations before embarking on everyday domestic tasks like taking Diego his lunch in a basket, or sitting to work at her easel. She painstakingly selected her skirt, blouse, shawl, ribbons and jewelry, braided her hair and completed this extraordinary harmony of color form and texture with the floral headdresses that crowned her image for the day.

Handmade Folk Art Ornament - Frida Kahlo Angel
Frida Kahlo Mirror
More Ornaments
What an interesting piece of folk art this is! Made of tin, in the Mexican tradition, this ornament features a likeness of Frida Kahlo as an angel. Her wings are made of hands outstretched, yet protecting her at once. Her bodice is three-dimensional and features a bustier as typical of her own paintings. As a piece of wall artwork, this would be quite attractive. But, because of its size, it makes a great ornament as well.
It is designed with a built-in hanger on the back that can be used as is, or bent up carefully for hanging in a different fashion. Her skirt has room at the bottom for you to add a sentiment. Perhaps ¡Viva la Vida! or another of Frida's well known comments.
This very special piece has been created by traditional tin artisans in Mexico and hand crafted and painted there as well. The the bodice of Frida's dress varies in color. Please let us choose one especially for you!

Each mini (about 2-1/2 inches high and 1-1/2inches wide) shrine is made from a tiny box (may be just about any sort) set atop a small base. This simple but elegant shrine features an image of Frida Kahlo, known for her strength of character.
Hopefully they will protect you from crazy drivers and slippery roads! Or, position one in your office or private space.

Handmade Folk Art mirror - Frida Kahlo
Similar Frida Ornament
What an interesting piece of folk art this is! Made of tin, in the Mexican tradition, this mirror features a likeness of Frida Kahlo as an angel. Her wings are made of hands outstretched, yet protecting her at once. Her bodice is three-dimensional and features a bustier as typical of her own paintings. As a piece of wall artwork, this would be quite attractive. However, her skirt opens and reveals a mirror. The symbolism is worthy of Frida herself!
It is designed with a built-in easel for standing on a table or shelf and with a hanging loop for displaying on a wall. The design is such that the mirror remains closed while displayed until you open it.
This very special piece has been created by traditional tin artisans in Mexico and hand crafted and painted there as well. The the bodice of Frida's dress varies in color and some doors open to the right and others to the left. Please let us choose one especially for you!
