Happy Birthday - i work for what's real.
More Birthday
From KOCO NY, this square greeting card offers a birthday philosophy that questions being and reality, or does it?
what is reality? how do we know what's real? is a flower more real than the idea of a flower? realism, as a modern philosophical notion, is the idea that physical objects exist independently of their being perceived. is a social worker's reality more real than a painter's reality. is it possible for something to be real & not have a physical existence? is reality really only about literal truths, non-fictions, & actual happenings or is there a reality within each of us as human beings? as les mccann once said to eddie harris, "try to make it real compared to what?"
to the possibilities you bring into reality (& into my life) happy birthday

Just like many other cards from the early to mid-20th century, the card was made of folded paper, giving a much richer appearance. Once opened, the card reads, in a vintage-style script:

Die Cut Socrates Flexible Greeting Card
Socrates Quote Rubber Stamp
Socrates has come to be known as one of the wisest philosophers of all time. Interestingly enough, he left few writings - most of what we know of him has come to us through his most famous student, Plato.

Each card comes with a sticker sheet filled with traditional messages like Happy Birthday and Thank You, but more exciting are the additional sticker quotes attributed to Socrates himself, such as:
Children today are tyrants. They contradict their parents, gobble their food and tyrannize their teachers.
By all means marry; if you get a good wife, you'll be happy. If you get a bad one, you'll become a philosopher.
Another of the quotes is also available as a SilverCrow rubber stamp:
Wisdom begins in wonder.
