Teensy Silver Metallic Origami Crane
More Origami
More Birds of All Kinds
The paper crane has been known for ages as a symbol for peace and longevity and good will. Many believe that your wish will come true with 1000 cranes folded!
We had these sweet an tiny cranes folded just for us in metallic jewel-toned paper. Each one was carefully made by hand.
These measure about 1 inch from wing-tip to wing-tip and about 1/2 inch from beak to tail. They are a perfect size to make earrings!
Each will be shipped to you closed. To open, just gently pull down on the wings close to the body and it will puff up nicely.
It is very difficult to fold such tiny cranes, particularly when using metallic paper. We were delighted to find a student who made these for us several years ago. She no longer makes these, so we only have a limited number of them.

Six-Pointed Star Nicho with Dotted Tips
More Nichos
Our little star nicho features 6 points that each end with a decorative ball. It's simple lines belie the detail in the handwork on it. The rays emanating from the center actually send focus back to the contents of the niche behind the glass window. The door is latched by the traditional tin spiral. A hanging loop on the back makes this just perfect for hanging on the wall, in a larger wood niche.
Because of the 6 points, it might be just what you need for a Judaic project as it can represent Star of David.
Each star is handmade and will differ slightly from the others, so please let us choose one for you. The approximate measurements are 5-1/2 inches high by 4-1/2 inches wide. The niche itself is 1-1/2 inch wide by 2-1/2 inch high and about 3/4 inch deep.

Mini Shalom Papel Picado in Blue & White
More Judaica
More Papel Picado and Banners
More Peace
This sweet little papel picado features the greeting:
SHALOM
on alternating blue and white traditional papel picado is enchanting! Each of the 10 mini sheets measures 2 by 3-1/2 inches. Strung together in the traditional manner with string, the entire banner measures 3 feet long. This papel picado is hand made by paper cutter artisans and your purchase creates an economic livelihood for traditional artisans, so that the customs and culture may continue through new generations.
We are especially pleased with this design as it melds two cultures in tradition and cultural heritage.
Papel Picado is a traditional art form that is handmade by artisans from Mexico. The brightly colored tissue is hand cut using chisels and a top pattern as a guide. Tissue was actually developed in China and came to the New World through Europe. The Mexican people adopted the tissue for their paper cutting - they had been using hand made paper for the cuttings for generations. Now the thin tissue brings a whole new dimension to the art, allowing the breeze to create an even more festive mood with the lightweight paper!
Perfect for any occasion celebrating peace.

Natural hand-made Beeswax Hanukkah Candles
More Candles
These wonderful little candles arrive 45 to an organza bag - beautifully tied with a silken ribbon. They are traditional Hanukkah size and will fit most menorahs. Each is 5 inches high and the bottom diameter is about 5/16 inch and tapers gracefully to the top.
We offer 4 varieties:
Natural and Pale Blue Multicolor Sea Blue (Limited Edition) All Natural
Beeswax candles are handmade of 100% pure beeswax and cotton wicks - no metals are involved. They are healthy, too, as they are naturally made of flowers by the bees themselves - of course, people help turn the beeswax into the actual candles!
They are of course, natural and clean and hypoallergenic. When burning, they create a delicate hint of a honey scent and fill the environment around them with negative ions.
Because beeswax is a renewable energy source, you'll be helping the environment as you celebrate getting older.

Hand Watercolored Greeting Card - Some Kind of Mission (Rabbi Makito)
More Note Cards
More Christmas
SilverCrow Creations is proud to offer this wonderful work of art that disguises itself as a note card! Created by J.Stone Cards, one by one, each card measures 3-3/4 by 7-1/4 inches, and is individually hand painted in watercolor on elegant 100% cotton cream colored card stock with a matching envelope.
Such an elegant card was created for the holidays, but might be used for any occasion. The inside presents "a short holiday message as told by Jane Stone":
"Some Kind of Mission" Last Saturday evening, Rabbi Yashita Makito beckoned to a group of carolers from the tiny balcony where she was standing, above the courtyard of her handbuilt brick synagogue in Ardglass, North Ireland. Rabbi Makito is well known throughout Ardglass, for her gentle spirit is like fresh snowflakes falling on bamboo shoot. The caroling villagers saw her and came at once into the courtyard - quietly gathering closer to await her holiday greeting. "Greeting" she said to them, leaning down over the veranda rail (she always spoke just barely above the whisper of young rabbit breath.) "Now remember, if Christmas gets too messy, eat it over the sink." Rabbi Makito (and her keen sensibility) nourishes my vision of peace on earth.

Letterpress Note card - l'chayim

More Hannukah
We just love letterpress cards and letters. The elegance of vintage stationery is all but forgotten. We're simply delighted that some smaller companies are offering the same high-quality papers and designs with a modern touch - so we can offer them to you! The simple design represents the simple sentiment so well. And, of course, because it is letterpress, you can feel the letters with your fingers.
This elegant sentiment in light blue letters is appropriate for any time good wishes are warranted, but specifically appropriate for Hannukah:
l'chayim
The literal meaning is:
to life
The 3-1/4 by 5-1/4 inch size is just what you need for those short messages and quick thank you notes.

Oxidized Silvery Chai Charm
This well known symbol, seen worldwide on ornaments, jewelry, T-Shirts and more, is the Hebrew word for living - Chai. It is a combination of the two Hebrew letters Cheit and Yod.
As with any symbol there are many interpretations. Our favorite is that this simple symbol represents the importance of life. The symbol is specific to Jewish culture, but it has been slipping into other cultures easily. The well-know Jewish toast l'chayim means to life. The numerical representation of Chai is 18, so gifts to charity are routinely given in multiples of 18.
Our little charm is made of oxidized silvery metal measures about 5/16 inch high by 1/2 inch wide.

Golden Dresden Seasons Greetings - Package of 5
More Dresdens
Season Greetings is one of most versatile of ways to wish well to your friends, family, colleagues, etc. Because it doesn't specifically mention a holiday or occasion, it can represent just about any time or occasion. Usually associated with winter celebrations, it is non-sectarian and most popular for that reason.
As every life's season is deserving of celebration, why not use it to welcome spring, summer or anytime.
Our embossed die cuts are superbly cut from golden foiled paper and will make delightful embellishments for any project - special place settings, invitations, cards, thank yous, etc.
They are skillfully crafted in the Victorian tradition, but are brand new.
