Perfect for your almost-inchies, this cool pendant is just as lovely with no additions as it might be if you added your own artwork or photograph. The bezel allows you to add your own inclusions (it is quite deep) to cover with resin or an acrylic or glass dome. Your kit arrives with an acrylic dome if you choose to use it.
There is even a decorative squared loop at the bottom if you choose to add an additional charm or dangle if you choose. But, because of it's squared shape, it looks lovely as just part of the design as well.
Not including the bail, the pendant measures 1-1/8 inch high by 1-1/4 inch wide. The inner bezel is 7/8 inch square and not quite 1/4 inch deep.

Your completed shrine or memory box will measure 2-3/4 inches wide by 3-3/4 inches wide (not including the decorative top). The inside is sized perfectly to hold Artist Trading Cards (ATCs) and measures just over 2-1/2 inches by 3-1/2 inches and is 1-1/8 inch deep.
The sample shows a specialty door knob, so you can see that you can alter and add to this in any fashion to make it more yours.
Although our shrine is standing complete without any gluing, you might choose to use glue to hold it more tightly together.

Here's another wonderfully diverse project kit. You can make all kinds of things from this little grouping. But, it was designed for you to make 2 pendants or shrines - with just some imagination and glue. We're showing a completed shrine on the left and a shrine necklace on the right. We made our necklace with gimp cord, but ball chain or other chain or ribbon will work well, too.

The layered flames on the top are wonderful. We finished our samples without decoration. You might do that, or, of course, decorate and then glue - probably an easier idea!
These are made from sturdy Masonite, just like the other Coffee Break Design kits we sell. The finished piece measures 2-3/8 inches high by 1-1/2 inch wide and about 3/8 inch thick if you use all three layers.

A tradition since the early 19th century, German and Austrian children were presented with a schultüt or school cone such as this one - all decorated and filled with chocolates and other candies, small toys, school supplies and other surprises. Such a sweet tradition was begun to make the children less anxious about awaiting their first day of school - thus making it sweeter for them.
Parents and grandparents would try to make a very nice surprise package for each child. And now you can continue that same tradition. Or, you might choose to use them for other holidays or birthdays!
Of course, many of the originals were homemade cones, and now many are manufactured with licensed characters. We are delighted that we have some of these to offer, because this decorate-it-yourself style is no longer available (we hope it will return, but we cannot be sure).
You can decorate the plain white area with the child's picture or with any design you choose. Fill up the cone and twist the crepe collar till it closes - add a ribbon if you choose.
This large cone measures 13-1/2 inches long and the top diameter measures 4-1/2 inches. So, lots of surprises will fit inside.
This will arrive with the collar tucked into the cone, so please be careful when pulling it out.

What fun you'll have with this little kit! Just create some teeny tiny artwork or cut photos from a magazine - whatever you choose! Place it in the bezel base, drop in the dome, fold over the the prongs, and voilà - a tiny masterpiece. Of course, you can glue all of these together, but you really don't need to do that!
The dome slightly magnifies the image underneath, so you can use tiny images if you wish.
There is no hanging loop. These are great for gluing to another project or base - such as a cuff bracelet or a ring, or what have you.

This glorious kit is not for the feint of heart! It takes a bit of patience, but we were able to assemble it in less than 1/2 hour! Of course instructions are included!

We love the doors that might be open or closed or partially open)! There are 2 alternatives for the concha top - one slightly larger than the other. and there are two crosses that you might choose to use on the shrine or, indeed, on other projects.
Once completed, your shrine will measure 9 inches high by 5-1/4 inches wide (closed) by 2 inches deep). The pieces are made of 1/8-inch thick masonite, so you can rest assured your final piece will be sturdy.

We've seen kits to make hand fans before, but they already had the paper attached - and it wasn't always the type of paper we wanted to use. Now you can make your own hand fan with these great sticks made of bamboo! And, you can make them out of just about anything that you can glue or sew to wood.
This hinged set of 10 inner sticks plus the two larger outer sticks were designed for the millinery trade to mount lace for Victorian-style fashion or even for display. These are designed for a 6-inch wide fabric, lace or paper (rice paper is especially nice and usually arrives on a roll - you might even choose to use wallpaper!
The 12 sticks pivot from the bottom so that you can fold your fan closed. The pivot is a pin with a loop and ring on one side for attaching the fan or for carrying.

We're still making more of these for ourselves. There are just so many options with this wondrous set of cabinets. Add tiny Santos and medals and amulets and photos in little frames and capsules and ....
We're showing the flat kit which makes 2 cabinets and one of the cabinets already made. These sand nicely, but we thought the detail much easier to see in the illustrated position.
Each finished cabinet measures 5-3/8 inches high (including the concha on the top) by 1-1/2 inch wide by 7/8 inch deep.
This fun piece stays together nicely without much adhesive. Most of it snaps together easily.

Game House Trinket Charm Shrine Kit - Package of 4 (or More?)
At first we wondered why this kit was advertised to only make 4 houses. Then we discovered that there were not just 4 charm kits - but just as many options for finishing them.
We're showing you all the parts above - with a thread through one of them so you can see the stringing hole. But, you might also make the stringing hole go from side to side!
Here are the options that were suggested to us by the designer - but we're betting that you find even more ideas:
Remove the top channel so you can attach a finding like a ball chain, eye hook or string to make a charm or tiny ornament.
Remove the bottom channel so that you can mount the little house on a post or finding.
Remove both the top and bottom channels to create a bead (like the one with our thread).
Leave both channels intact to create a little Monopoly-style game house.
We've also used the little pieces separately - rather than use 3 pieces to make 1 house, we've used them 1 or 2 at time.
We're showing you the kit on the left and a bunch of the little houses in different stages of completeness to spark your imagination. If you use all 3 pieces to make a house, the completed piece will measure 3/8 inch by 3/8 inch by 3/8 inch (including the pointed roof).

Medium Circle Shrine Kit - Package of 2 Shrines
What fun you'll have with these DIY masonite shrine kits. Your two shrines arrive flat. All you need is a tiny bit of glue to make 2 little traditional style nicho shrine kits. Honestly - these take seconds to put together. And the great coloring of the masonite is perfect by itself - or you can paint or embellish, or glitter it - it's all up to you!
We love the little circles around the outside - there are just so many possibilities - add sequins - paint them different colors - or all the same color and accent them with rhinestones. We could go on and on!
And, you'll have little blocks left (from the windows) for other projects!
The shapes have been laser cut and are easy to remove from the base - even as intricate as they are - and easy to assemble. Just add a bail or other finding to change these into jewelry.

You might regard them as 3D moving jokes which can be appreciated and enjoyed at least on two levels. Firstly, there is the pleasure of a smooth-turning movement acting to produce a vivid and graphic happening which communicates an idea. Splendid working automata have been and can be made in many different materials or combinations of them - such as wood, metal, fabric, plastic and even ropes or cords. These can be extremely expensive to make and take lots of skill.
This fun book concerns itself solely with the skills and techniques needed to make working automata in paper - ideally paper alone. Paper is a wonderfully versatile material. It can be cut, glued and folded with ease. Holes can be cut or punched in it and it can easily be decorated with painted or printed with colors, drawings and even photographs.
Paper can be folded or consertina'd into structures of surprising strength and it is also readily available in a a variety of beautiful colors. Most paper is not expensive and the tools you'll need to work with it are modest and easily available.
All you might need to add are, scissors, a craft knife, glue, a ruler & a bone folder or a ball-point pen which ahs run out of ink (for creasing), a few toothpicks and maybe some string or thread.

Environmentally friendly straw ornaments have been popular throughout Europe for over a century. These cannot be made by machine, so you can either buy the stars and ornaments - or, now, you can make them yourself! Made from natural straw and bound by thread (no glue), this old-world hobby is quite rewarding. We have ornaments that were on our parents' Christmas trees back in the 1920s and they are as wonderful today as they were then.

When I was just a little kid, back in the 1950s, my Dad and I made a pin hole camera - a lot like this one. Of course, it wasn't half as elegant as this. But, I was amazed at my Dad's magical ways - and he never ceased to continue to teach and amaze me throughout his 91-year life!
Now you can have the same fun with your kids, your friends or just amaze yourself with this dandy Pin-Hole Camera and Solargraphy Kit.
We've seen kits like these for upwards of $25.00, so this is even more special as bargain fun.
Pinhole cameras do not have optical lenses. The film is exposed by light through a tiny hole in front of the camera. Because there is no lens, the image will be in focus at all distances.
You'll take your best photographs on bright days. Be sure to hold the camera very still when you are shooting, or place it on a solid surface. The exposure times range from 5 seconds to hours and sometimes days!
Assembly takes about 1 hour. You won't need a knife or scissors. Your finished camera will be made of sturdy black cardstock (in the package). Of course, the instructions to build your camera are included, with illustrations.
The standard 35mm film you need to take photos is not included. Preferably, you should buy ISO200.

DIY Hand Wrought Square Heirloom Sterling Antique Glass Locket necklace
DIY Scalloped Oval Heirloom Locket
We can't tell you how enamoured we are with this lovely locket. Created from antique glass and sterling silver, each locket features a swiveling bail. Not only can you can view the contents from either side, but you can spin the locket right on the chain so you can feature either side as you wear it!
Simply unscrew the locket from the top to place your items inside. You might use two photographs, or a locket of hair, pressed flowers, a memento or a small bit of a billet-doux, some watch parts, a charm, or whatever you can imagine. And, you can change your contents at any time if you wish, creating a new necklace immediately.
The sterling silver sides make the the pendant vintage inspired and will accent your contents nicely. Because the glass is antique, it has a faint greenish tint that might slightly alter the look of your locket's contents, but we have found the antique nature of the glass to add a certain je ne sais quoi to the piece.
Because each is hand made and the glass is antique, no two lockets are exactly alike, but all are wonderfully like the one we have pictured above. The pendant measures about 7/8 inch long by about 3/4 inch wide. The bail adds an additional 3/8 inch (making the entire piece about 1-3/8 inch long). It is about 3/8 inch from front to back.
We have also included a 22-inch 2mm sterling silver ball chain necklace. It is long enough to slip over your head so you needn't unhook the catch. To shorten it, simply snip with strong scissors and reattach the ball-chain clasp.

This is so cool. It is a full box of an after-market soldering kit that was made in the 1950s for Chevrolet, Chevy Truck, Cadillac, Oldsmobile, Buick, GMC, Ford Flathead V-8, Model A T, MOPAR (Chrysler, Plymouth, Dodge and Desoto), Hudson, Kaiser-Frazer, Nash, Packard, Studebaker, and Willys-Jeep.
Each vintage 1-7/8 inch square box contains 6 jiggers. It was a simple solution for those doing their own car repairs way back when!
To complete the soldering job, the mechanic (amateur or pro) pinched of the top of the jigger. Then s/he inserted spliced wires into the jigger, lit it with a match, and presto! the wires were soldered together.
These originally sold for 35¢ per box. This unused old store stock was delightfully discovered in an old car repair shop. What a great gift for someone repairing a vintage car, truck, jalopy or even a motorcycle!

Just like all of the other Coffee Break Design kits, this tiny shrine kit is made from sturdy 1/8 inch thick masonite. The kit is delivered to you flat as you can see in the background. You just snap apart the pieces, decorate and glue together. There are lots of optional parts so you can make your design ever the more special.
The final piece will measure about 1-5/8 inch square and you can add a pin or bail to the back to make it wearable if you choose.
Great for Little People, collage, jewelry or assemblage (on its own or added to other items). You might even build it up with some resin!

Teensy Cross Statue Kit - Package of 2

What a lovely design by Coffee Break Design - This little cross statue is made of 3 masonite pieces that have been laser cut so that they just snap out - ready for you to assemble (the instructions are included, of course).
The pieces stay together well without any adhesive, but you may choose to glue yours for safekeeping.
The finished product is 1-1/8 inch tall by 1/2 inc square on the bottom. This lovely trinket statue fits nicely inside our smaller nichos and shrine bases. It would also be lovely atop a mini ofrenda table.
The dark brown mottled look of the masonite lends itself to this statue nicely, but of course, you can paint it, add glitter and all kinds of other embellishments.

It is easy to assemble and has a dialogue based on Ali Baba and the 40 Thieves for the cardboard characters to act out. The action takes place in ancient Baghdad. This toy theatre gives parents an opportunity to help their children understand the world as it was and how things have changed.

Bienvenido to the Teatro de Mexico, where a troupe of spirited players perform on three beautiful stages. Drawing on the exuberant iconography of the skeleton in Mexican culture, Bunny Pierce Huffman has created whimsical, multidimensional scenes of Mexican life circa 1900, enacted by skeleton figures similar to those in Day of the Dead tableaux and in Mexican folk art, satire, and drama.
The sturdy, foldout sets--complete with eighteen die cut, scored, stand-up props and figures--are easily assembled with just a little tape; the sets can be fastened together to form a hexagonal theater or mounted as three separate stages. A unique diversion for all ages, this toy theater can also be used as a festive tabletop decoration for parties or as part of a personalized Day of the Dead altar.
