We really aren't sure what type of food this truly is. There seems to be meat, tomatoes, lettuce, guacamole sandwiched between 2 wheat tortillas, so we decided to call it a Mexican Sandwich!

Measuring a 2-1/8 inches high by 9/16 inch in diameter at the widest, this neat tequila bottle is made of plastic with a little metallic paper label featuring a goat and a painted cap.

Larger Miniature Plate of Tostadas
When we discovered these little trays of food, we were in awe! How tremendously detailed they are. When we ordered them from the artist, we asked for them to be similar, so that we could feature them here at SilverCrow. They are all similar to the one in the photograph, but please allow for the variation that makes hand-made goods so special.
Each platter contains 4 to 6 tostadas. and is made mostly of red clay or terra cotta. There may be a few additional "ingredients" used to produce the tomatoes, cheese, lettuce and more on top of each little delicacy.
The pictured tray measures 2-1/16 inch in diameter and features 5 servings. There will be slight differences in the one you receive.
The back features a hanging hole if you choose to hang this or attach it to your shrine or other miniature project. But, we're not sure why one would hang food on a wall!

Originally meant as traditional Mexican bridal shower party favors, we love these little dust pans for assemblages, memory boxes and even ofrendas.
These are hand cut and formed by traditional artisans and they measure about 7/8 inch by 7/8 inch by 11/16 inch.

Just like the real life-sized toys for real kids, this little catch toy is made of wood and string. Each has even been hand carved and painted to look so festive.
We're showing you two of the toys so that you can see how the toy is used. With the top off, the player holds the wooden handle and swings the rope to try to get the top on either side oft he handle.
With the top in place, these measure about 2-7/8 inches and the top is about 3/4 inch in diameter.

These tin lithographed motifs feature a pig with a rider. It's hard to tell if the rider is male or female, but does it really matter.
These are new motifs made in the fashion of vintage tin toys. They are painted on both sides, but only one side shows the detail. As you can see from the photograph, the pig and rider may be facing either way.
The motif measures about 2-1/4 inches wide by 2 inches high.
These would be fantastic as a part of a mixed media or altered art project.

Hand Made Miniature Mexican Breakfast Platter
When we discovered these little plates of food, we were in awe! How tremendously detailed they are. When we ordered them from the artist, we asked for them to be similar, so that we could feature them here at SilverCrow. And, although each is similar to the one pictured, please allow for slight variations as you might expect in hand-made artwork.
Our little Mexican breakfast measures about 1-1/2 inch in diameter and is loaded with rice and some eggs and green chiles. Mmmm - this little platter looks good enough to eat for any doll or other miniature lover. These are also great for ofrendas and shrines.

What wonderful memories these wee little mushrooms conjure - magical Christmases, good luck wishes, and, let us not forget the gnomes who must use these for tables and umbrellas!
Made from hard composition material in the mid-20th century, these wee little mushrooms are quite detailed - from the white dots atop their caps to the tiny speckled spores beneath.
These arrive much like flower stamens - there are 2 mushrooms per stem. Each package contains 3 stems, for a total of 6 wee little red topped amanita mushrooms.
The caps measure about 5mm in diameter and from the top of the cap to the point at which the stem of the mushroom meets the wire stem, it measures about 5/8 inch. There will be some variation as these are handmade.
These pretty mushrooms might really be toadstools, not to be eaten in the wild - and, our spun cotton version should not be eaten either! It is rumored that Santa's reindeer pranced around in a flying frenzy after eating these little beauties, allowing them to help Santa travel throughout the world and deliver presents.
Amanita mushrooms are considered good luck in many cultures, especially in Germany. You'll often see them pictured with gnomes, elves and fairies in children's literature.

Antiqued Silvery Coffee Cup Charm
This little coffee cup seems to be for cappuccino or another delight with frothy cream atop it! In stead of a hanging loop, you can use the handle to hang this little cup as a charm. Or you can just use it as a silvery miniature cup.
We were not as pleased with these as we thought we'd be when we received them. So, we are not going to reorder them when they are gone. But they're nice for an extra charm on a chunky bracelet - even better for assemblage and collage!

Our high-quality cast metal sewing machine looks just like an old Singer Sewing Machine from so many years ago. It is the original black and is accented with golden filigree and red accent paint. There is even an empty spool atop it. You might choose to accent this spool and the rest with a tiny piece of thread in the color of your liking. The wheel doesn't move - but, it looks so real, you might think it will!

Rare Vintage Bisque White Picket Fence Component
These great little fence components might be just what you need for your next project. You can see the dimension from the two we photographed.
We think that these little pieces were created originally for setting up miniature scenes for railroads or Lilliput villages, but we are really not sure. Some of them have an original metal pick in the bottom - probably for positioning in your diorama or display. We prefer them without the picks and most stand on their own. But we've not changed any of them.
Each fence shows a true patina that only real time offers such pieces. Each component is about 1-1/2 inch wide by just under 1 inch high and not quite 1/4 inch from front to back.
These are lightweight, making them perfect for even altered art jewelry projects.
We expect that these are from the 1920s through 1940s, but we've not been able to find a date on any of them. Some are marked with their country of origin, Japan.
These have been dusted off, but the metal, if any, is rusty, so please be careful. We never clean any vintage or antique items completely so as to not ruin the value.

It appears that some might be cowboys (their hats suggest such) and others might be musicians, perhaps even playing the bagpipes. Mini Vintage Broken Frozen Bisque Frozen Charlotte Doll
Larger Frozen Charlottes
Each of these tremendous little dolls is more interesting than the next. We had a hard time working once these arrived. We had to examine each and every one of them. They are called Frozen Charlotte Dolls or Frozen Charlotta Dolls. They were made in Germany years ago.
They appear to have have been manufactured as far back as the early 1850s. Their history is quite intriguing, as is their allure. Some are bisque, but most are made of glazed porcelain. They were known in Germany as Bathing Children (Badekinder) or Naked Babies (Nackfrosh).
Charlottes were named after a young Victorian girl who went out dancing with her beau. Against Mother's advice, she left without her coat and froze in the snow. This is the story of an old folksong called Fair Charlotte often attributed to William Lorenzo Carter.
The dolls were made from the 1850s through the early 20th century and sold for about a penny each in the United States. Children would dress them and were able to collect a few because of the nice price. In fact they were often called penny dolls.
Ours have been dug up in Germany near the original factories. These tiny dolls are almost perfect, but have a bit of damage, but not much. We have not cleaned them, so you can enjoy discovering the unique beauty of your own doll. Just use a mild soap gently with water.
If whole, these lovelies might sell for $125 to $300 each. These tiny ones measure from just under 1-1/4 inch to just under 1-1/2 inch high and each shows different breaks

From a vintage lot of gumball prizes, these little black bears (some with red eyes) arrived. Each one measures 1-5/8 inch long by just over 3/4 inch high and about 1/2 inch deep.
These are new old stock, never used. Each bear has one paw up so s/he appears to be walking or running. We really think these look in shape and demeanor like polar bears, but their coloring, of course, tells us that they are not.

Originally meant to be gumball machine prizes, these were also found as carnival prizes and sold in five and dime stores back in the 1960s. The mugs are made of a golden translucent plastic and feature a fun white frosty beer foam on top! Each is marked HONG KONG on the bottom.

Each of these characters appears to be Asian and to be carrying a drum or gong. Most of the drums are yellow and some of the gentlemen have a wire that might have held another object in the past. The wire goes through the figure from front to back and is easily removed and replace if you choose to do so. The color has worn from some of these more than others.

Coca-Cola (Coke) Cupcake or Ornament Picks - Package of 10
Each of these little bottles resembles a real old fashioned Coca-Cola Bottle - back when they were clear green glass! These plastic versions have a "stem" on the bottom so that you might add them to your cupcakes or other pastries, but we like to break off the bottom and use them for little shrines and ofrendas.
Each bottle measures 1-5/8 inch high by not quite 1/2 inch thick. The pick on the bottom add 1-1/8 inch. In our illustration, the pick are holding the bottles in a little cup of clear glass glitter - to look like ice!

This tiny wooden pot appears to be terra cotta - but it is not as breakable! It serves a vase or container for a bunch of faux calla lilies - making it just perfect to add to your miniature shrine, ofrenda or altar.

Mini Wooden Barrel of Ice with Bottles
This fun little piece is just the ticket for a special shrine or memory box - Each little wooden barrel is different as they are all handmade - but still similar to the illustration. Inside the barrel are bottles of beer or wine and chunks of (fake) ice!
The bottles differ from barrel to barrel, so please let us choose one just for you.
Depending on the angle of the bottles in the barrel, the entire piece measures about 2-1/4 inches high by a touch over 1 inch wide.
Including the wings, s/he is 2-1/4 inches high (the wings move a bit, so you can change this height slightly). And s/he is about 1-1/2 inches wide and deep.

At first we thought we were purchasing an entire deer family and then we discovered we had bucks and does!
These molded plastic deer have been hand painted, so each one is slightly different from the next. These were meant as novelty decorations in the late 1950s or early 1960s. They are in great condition, but the painting is better on some than others.
The standing buck measures 1-1/2 inches from tail to ear, 2-1/4 inches from toe to antler tip and a bit over 1/2 inch wide. The doe is elegantly reclining and measures 1-3/8 inch from tail to front knee, 1-1/8 inch from ear to tummy and about 1-1/8 inch wide.

What a tasty treat - a little graham cracker to go with a little coffee or milk! These little resin pieces are flat backed and are ready to use for just about anything. There are no drilled holes, so you might add a glued bale or drill a little hole yourself.
Each measures 3/4 inch by 1/2 inch. The back is flat off-white. But the front looks exactly like a cracker - but just let your dolls eat them. Plastic food isn't really good for humans.

We had these wonderfully elaborately detailed gravestone replicas created for us! Although they are great for Hallowe'en, we also love them for their deserted feel. The are made from photographs of authentic gravestones in an almost abandoned cemetery in Colorado.
The shadows and angle of the trompe-d'oeuil photograph make this component absolutely stunning. And the laser cutting is so precise that the intricacies of the drape under the beacon on the top seem almost like you might be able to feel them. At the bottom, it reads:

We had these sweet an tiny cranes folded just for us in metallic jewel-toned paper. Each one was carefully made by hand.
These measure about 1 inch from wing-tip to wing-tip and about 1/2 inch from beak to tail. They are a perfect size to make earrings!
Each will be shipped to you closed. To open, just gently pull down on the wings close to the body and it will puff up nicely.
It is very difficult to fold such tiny cranes, particularly when using metallic paper. We were delighted to find a student who made these for us several years ago. She no longer makes these, so we only have a limited number of them.

Mini Wicker Blower or Fan - Traditional Mexican Bridal Shower Party Favor

We were not quite sure why these were traditional party favors, but we were sure that they are quite deftly made of wicker by people who are adept at making tiny things from straw.
So, we've decided that these are for waving or blowing away ill will, evil spirits and negative energy from the bride and groom.
Now we have heard from one of our dear customers that this straw is called popote. The full-sized blower is used to fan the embers of a fire. This symbolizes that the bride will now have her own hearth to maintain - her own household. My Mom used to call this "when she went to housekeeping." So, although the traditions may differ, the sentiments are the same in many parts of the world.
Of course, because these are made by hand, there will be slight variation. That is why we are showing you two in our illustration. Straw art such as this is called popotillo.

Handmade Miniature Plate of Enchiladas
When we discovered these little plates of food, we were in awe! How tremendously detailed they are. When we ordered them from the artist, we asked for them to be similar, so that we could feature them here at SilverCrow. And we received only a few of each meal.

Game House Trinket Charm Shrine Kit - Package of 4 (or More?)
At first we wondered why this kit was advertised to only make 4 houses. Then we discovered that there were not just 4 charm kits - but just as many options for finishing them.
We're showing you all the parts above - with a thread through one of them so you can see the stringing hole. But, you might also make the stringing hole go from side to side!
Here are the options that were suggested to us by the designer - but we're betting that you find even more ideas:
Remove the top channel so you can attach a finding like a ball chain, eye hook or string to make a charm or tiny ornament.
Remove the bottom channel so that you can mount the little house on a post or finding.
Remove both the top and bottom channels to create a bead (like the one with our thread).
Leave both channels intact to create a little Monopoly-style game house.
We've also used the little pieces separately - rather than use 3 pieces to make 1 house, we've used them 1 or 2 at time.
We're showing you the kit on the left and a bunch of the little houses in different stages of completeness to spark your imagination. If you use all 3 pieces to make a house, the completed piece will measure 3/8 inch by 3/8 inch by 3/8 inch (including the pointed roof).

What a lovely design by Coffee Break Design - This little cross statue is made of 3 masonite pieces that have been laser cut so that they just snap out - ready for you to assemble (the instructions are included, of course).
The pieces stay together well without any adhesive, but you may choose to glue yours for safekeeping.
The finished product is 1-1/8 inch tall by 1/2 inc square on the bottom. This lovely trinket statue fits nicely inside our smaller nichos and shrine bases. It would also be lovely atop a mini ofrenda table.
The dark brown mottled look of the masonite lends itself to this statue nicely, but of course, you can paint it, add glitter and all kinds of other embellishments.

Vintage play money like this was available in lots of vending machines across the USA in the 1950s and 1960s! What fun this teensy stuff is! The denominations are different ($1, $5, $10, $20, $50 & $100), so you'll not be sure what the total play value is until you receive your package!
Created by the famed EPPY company, this currency was also used in digger arcade games and as carnival prizes. And, it was even sold as a toy in the Five and Tens. Great for use in your scrapbooks, on cards, for ofrendas and shrines - and of course, for dolls.
Each bill measures about 1 inch long and about 7/16 inch high. This is unused old store stock. You may find that a few of your pieces are connected to each other. We didn't cut them because we thought that would be more fun for you. The image and denomination is printed in green on paper, so it looks like real play money!

Vintage Hand-Painted Precision-Made Plastic German Christmas Vignette
Perfect for your Christmas putz (under-tree display), this lovely vintage plastic set has been created with special touch and precision so accurately attributed to German artisans. The figures are made of molded plastic and then trimmed expertly. But, then, the magic begins.
Each piece: Santa, his reindeer and the trio of Christmas trees - has been painted with care and precision. This set can become part of a family tradition. Or, indeed, it might complement your present display. Each piece stands well freely.
We've packaged them with some festive snowy shredded paper in a clear box for easy storage after the Holiday.
Santa measures 3-1/4 inch high by 2 inches wide. His reindeer measures about 2-1/2 inches high by 3 inches long. The trees are about 4 inches high by 3-3/4 inches wide. The reindeer antlers are posable with care.
These hail from late 1950s or 1960s per our source, but we suspect them to be earlier as you'll find Made in Germany on Santa Claus' base.

What a rare find! - So rare that we only have a few! This vintage package contains a 6-pack of green plastic Coke bottles. The six-pack, including the bottles measures 1-3/4 inch high by 1-1/2 inch wide by 1-1/16 inch deep. The novelty is still in its original plastic which has become a bit cloudy with the original paper header with the now defunct import company name on it.
We believe these to be from the 1960s or 1970s. The slogan, It's the Real Thing, is on the six-pack side.

Mini Framed Jean-François Millet Painting
van Gogh Items
Incorrectly attributed to van Gogh, this lovely painting by Jean-François Millet is entitled The Gleaners. The women appear to be doing back-breaking work sifting through the ground after wheat has been reaped, collecting the ears of the wheat.
Millet and van Gogh both painted in the same era. However, van Gogh's paintings seemed to capture the raw essence of the peasant farmers and other workers. And, Millet's work softened the tone of the work, making it more palatable and well received by the connoisseurs of the time.
This little painting is framed in a lovely wood frame and the print is behind acetate, appearing like glass. This is, of course, just perfect for a doll house. But, surely you might use it in any of your projects. It measures 2-1/8 inches by 1-3/4 inch.

When we started selling our little Chalkboard Necklace, we wondered just what kind of chalk we should offer to accompany it - so that the wearer might change the message on a whim. Well, here we have it!
These slim little chalks arrive in packages of 5 pieces - 3 white and two random colors. The chalks measure about 1-11/16 inches long and are just barely 1/8 inch in diameter - perfect for including with small projects - and especially neat because they are doll-size!
Chalks vary ever so slightly in length due to the fragile nature of the chalk. We package them securely (see the illustration), but they are indeed fragile, and might not make it through the mail perfectly.
You can use the chalk as is or, if you prefer a point, just use a regular hand-held kid's pencil sharpener carefully.

Old-fashioned spun cotton mushrooms have graced Christmas trees, corsages and other items for decades. These lovely vintage amanita mushrooms were created of spun cotton back in the mid-20th century and are in wonderful condition. These old store stock beauties measure about 1/2 inch from the bottom of the stem to the top of the cap.
The red caps are hand stained to look real. They are are highly lacquered and are dotted with little white spots - just like the real mushrooms! The stems are wire wrapped in green paper.

Mummer was enchanted by the fact - way back when - that Joan Crawford - yes, a woman - was a director of such a major company. Mummer was dedicated to Pepsi after that. What a cute little book and full of tiny information. The 45-page booklet has been sewn (by machine, it seams) to appear just like the almanacs of yesteryear. A facsimile edition of the 1853 version of the Old Farmer's Almanac, our tiny edition measures 1-7/8 by 1-1/4 inch. The pages are readable for the most part, but some require an imagination to get the stories straight.

These cool transparent compasses are ungraduated (they have no markings). That means you can add your own. Consider labeling these in all different ways - perhaps with ME, YOU, THEM, NOBODY, instead of North, South, East and West. Or, what ever you can imagine.
These are 3/4 inch in diameter and open up so that you can add your own directions. Be careful so that you don't loose the little needle or pointer when you take them apart. We found it best to use tweezers to reposition the pointer after opening. How much fun can you have with these? Make up your own game, specialty jewelry and more. Each compass is flat-backed for easy gluing.
These are magnetic compasses - so they really work, but you'll not know what direction they indicate unless you use another compass to determine it. Please don't use this for real positioning unless you really know what you're doing.
