J. Herbin is the oldest name in current production of fountain pen inks in the world. J. Herbin created La Perle des Encres (the pearl, or jewel, of inks) at his shop on the Rue des Fosse Saint-Germain in Paris in 1700.
Perfect for fountain pens, fountain pen rollers and glass pens, this water-based ink is non-toxic and pH neutral, lightfast. It flows smoothly and is fast drying. You'll also love to use this special ink as a wash with any of your assorted brushes.
Each bottle of 30 ml is elegantly labeled and has an integrated pen rest. These are known as D bottle pen inks. The "D" refers to the old French unit of measure, la Demi Courtine.

Sweet dreams know the way to their dreamers and slip through the hole in the center of the swaying dream catcher, then slide down so softly that often the dreamer below doesn't even realize that s/he is dreaming.
Bad dreams are not as wise. They do not know their way to their dreamers, so they become entangled in the dream catcher's web, much like spiders' prey. These nightmares perish with the first light of the dawn.

The talismans, or seals, included in this set are authentic reproductions from the book which is some times called Moses' Magical Sprit-Art. According to tradition, the designs have many magnificent powers. They were taken from ancient Hebrew Holy Books (including the Talmud and the Kabala) and have been passed down through the ages. Even today many believers carry or use them with faith in their effectiveness to bring results by magical means.

Of course this ink is not really made of bat's blood. In the ancient tradition of writing out magical spells, petitions, prayers and wishes, the strongest entreaties were written in blood. Bat's Blood Ink is made of fragranced red ink.
Over the centuries since Medieval times, scented red inks were gradually substituted for the original inks made of organic compounds. Our 1 ounce bottle of Bat's Blood Ink is high quality red ink, fragranced with herbal essences appropriate for revenge spells was well as harmful spells and jinxes.
The ink may be used in a fountain pen or with a metal nib pen, it is most traditional to use a feather quill when writing such petitions on parchment.

Copal Incense Tears

Copal incense has been used for centuries in Mesoamerica. Although it is available in other forms, resin is the most common for rituals and for refreshing. Most often called copal tears resin, these are really chunks of crystallized copal resin. It is believed to open the soul to creativity.
Because it is not self-lighting, you'll need to burn it with self-lighting charcoal made especially for burning resin and powder incense, such as Three Kings Charcoal. Once placed on burning charcoal, it makes a sweet, thick smoke. Some people grind the resin chunks before burning, and others prefer to use the chunks whole.
Because of its soft, warming sweet smoke, is is traditionally burned in protection, cleansing and purification ceremonies. This is the same incense that was burned atop the ancient pyramids of the Aztecs and Mayans.
The word copal is derived from the Nahuatl word copalli, meaning incense. It is believed that the resin was extracted from the tree of life and given to humans as a gift by the Mayan gods.

Originally published in 1917, this little book is loaded with interesting information. Both the first and last several pages are filled with advertisements for the original publisher's other works, such as Cold Meat and How to Disguise It and Keeping Rabbits.
This little instruction manual might convince you to change your profession to one of Fortune Telling. The illustrations are both telling and artistic and the instructions are clear, yet dated (of course) in vernacular.

Considered by many scholars the finest extant Mexican codes and one of the most important original sources for the study of pre-Columbian religion, the Codex Borgia is a work of profound beauty, filled with strange and evocative images related to calendrical, cosmological, ritual and divinatory matters. Generally similar in style to such Mixtec manuscripts as the Codex Nuttall, the Codes Borgia is thought to have had its origin (ca. 1400 ad) in the south central highlands of Mexico. It is most probably a religious document that once belonged to a temple or sacred shrine.
One use of the Codex may have been to divine the future, for it includes ritual 260-day calendars, material on aspects of the planet Venus and a sort of numerological prognostication of the lives of wedded couples. Another section concerns various regions of the world and the supernatural characters and attributes of those regions. Also described are the characteristics of a number of deities, while still other passages may relate to installation ceremonies of rulers in pre-Columbian kingdoms.
Until this publication, the Codex Borgia has been largely inaccessible to the general public. The priceless original is in the Vatican Library and previous photographic facsimiles are very rare and/or very expensive. Moreover, the original Codex has been damaged over the centuries, resulting in the obscuration and loss of many images. In order to recapture the beauty and grandeur of the original, Gisele Díaz and Alan Rodgers have painstakingly restored the Codex by hand - a seven-year project - employing the most scrupulous research and restoration techniques. Aunt Sally's Policy Players Dream Book (Facsimile reprint)
This great little reprint is a curiosity for believers an naught alike. Created initially as a system to understand your dreams and apply the meanings to your gambling for luck, Aunt Aunt Sally's Policy Players Dream Book holds nine alphabetical lists of objects, people and situations that might comprise, or indeed, invade, your dreams. These are accompanied by interpretations and associated lucky numbers for playing policy.
Policy was an illegal (and now obsolete) lottery once popular in the African American community, although certainly many others played as well! The reference was also used for playing the numbers as well, a similar illegal betting game. The cover of the book features a certainly politically incorrect illustration, but it is true to the original.
Also included is a reprint of a 19th century French divination system called the Oraculum (or Napoleon's) Book of Fate, based on an old Arabic system of sand-divination commonly called geomancy. You'll also be able to find your own personal lucky (and unlucky) numbers.
This very useful little reference was first published in the 1890s. Ours is a facsimile reprint of a 1920s edition. The 122 pages are both informative and fun.
