These Security Guard patches have been removed from vintage uniforms from the mid-20th century. We thought they'd be great fun for a crazy quilt or other type of assemblage. Each one differs in the edging (depending on the ease of removing it from the uniform!) and slightly in size. The average size is 4-1/4 inches long by 1 inch high.
The back has been stabilized and appears to have iron-on adhesive on it, but we're not so sure about that, so it might be best to test it first, or to just sew it on!

Complete with an eagle atop the pin, some fleur-di-lis, stars and suns and a center featuring what appears to be two women and a horse, this fun vintage police badge reads
SPECIAL POLICE
Created as a novelty during the mid-20th Century, these were discovered unused in their original box at an old-time novelty company in Brooklyn, NY.
The silver metal has been oxidized or painted to appear aged and more real. The back is bright silver. Each one measures 1-1/2 inch high by 1-1/8 inch wide.
Please expect some variation as would be found in any novelty item. These were originally intended to be sold in 5 and 10 cent stores for children. Because of their age and condition, these should be used as adult collectible pins only and not as toys for children.

The Day of the Dead figure inside the nicho is hand-sculpted and painted as are the eggs and basket. We love the fried eggs (can you read even more into this?). There is even a real little basket! The nicho itself is hand made tin, and then it is hand painted with brightly-colored details.
We think this perfect for, of course, anyone needing this advice. But, you might also consider it for a housewarming gift, or for a host/ess who loves to cook (especially eggs)!
These vary slightly as all are handmade and painted. There are some other variations as well, each is more wonderful than the next! It measures about 8 inches wide by 8 inches tall.

So many children in the 1950s and 1960s loved to make believe that they were in the Wild American West! And someone pushy always wanted to be sheriff. Now here's a novelty sheriff's badge from way back then. With a 5-pointed star with round dots at each point, this fun badge will be lots of fun for someone who needs to remember being little way back when!
The odd art of this, however is the image in the middle. There are two lovely full-figured ladies in hula skirts on either side of a unicorn! I guess these really were from the land of make-believe!
These pins are from the 1950s and 1960s and were meant for sale in 5 and 10 cent stores such as Murphy's, Ben Franklin and Woolworths. We love them for embellishment and just for the memories (of the future)! They measure 1-1/2 inch in diameter and make a swell gift package decoration, too!
