We remember buying these ribbons in the 5 and 10 cent store years and years ago! Each 9-foot length of ribbon is held together with a folding foil label - something rarely seen today.
Each package contains 3 lengths of red ribbon (for Valentine's Day, too!) and 3 lengths of green (for St. Patrick's Day!)
The edges are filigreed and the ribbon is in excellent condition for its age. Your packages will be very special when finished with our vintage ribbons!

This sweet ribbon is lovely on both sides. The tiny roses form a scalloped edge that is so old-fashioned but would look lovely on any piece you might make today.
We believe this to be from the 1970s or earlier. It has been machine made of white and pink threads and is probably a man-made fiber, but we are not quite sure of the fiber content.
At the widest point of the scallop, the lace measures 1/2 inch wide. Your lace will be cut to order.

This is great stuff for making personalized bookmarks and trim for towels, bibs and more. It is no longer manufactured, so we were just delighted when we realized we still had some of it! It was quite popular in the early 1990s!
It's pretty enough to use as is, but the specialty Aida Cloth makes it easy to stitch. The ribbon is 1-3/8 inch wide.

This size 70 thread was manufactured by the Woolco, a division of Woolworths. These originally sold as 3 balls for 10¢ and 2¢ shipping! Can you imagine. Not so anymore. One brand new ball can cost as much as $6.00!

We love this wired garland not only because it is Christmas-y, but because the wire is brown - so that it looks like wood. So often, the wire is the same color as the greenery.
Each garland measures 15 feet and can be cut with wire cutters or scissors (be sure to use your older scissors - you don't want to ruin your good sewing scissors, that's for sure!)

The label advertises it as boilfast and color fast and indicates that it is 6-cord mercerized cotton.

This is really hard to find - at least we thought so until now! These white elastics have barbs on either end. Designed to hold on a party hat or a mask, we're sure you'll find many more uses. Each elastic measures 11 inches from barb to bar. To use, created a tiny hole on either side of the mask or hat and feed the barb through the hole. Repeat on the other side. The stretching effect of the elastic will reposition the barb to lay flat - holding the end in place - so much more effective than a knotted end!

This gorgeous French lingerie trim is fully crocheted in the tiniest of stitches - so beautifully! Created from rayon, it has that silky feel that only a natural fiber might.
Rayon is made of plant cellulose. It was invented in the late 19th century in France, but never completely replaced silk as was expected. It was not until 1924, that it officially became known as rayon.
We have been fortunate to come upon some unused old store stock from an old fabric shop in the UK. The original package was unopened and the lace is as pristine as the day it was delivered to the shop.
The deep forest green color might not match your present lingerie, but there are so many more uses for this glorious lace.
The lace is 1.5 cm wide (about 11/16 inch), and we will cut it to order for you. Even just a tiny bit of this added to your collage or altered art jewelry will be wonderful.

Vintage Silver Lahnband - Real Metal Ribbon in Silver by the Inch
At one time, the only metallic ribbons you could buy were not simple metallic - they were made of metal! We were absolutely delighted to have found some of this marvelous metal ribbon to offer to you.
Gorgeous slim silver ribbons are woven with white thread in zig-zag pattern to create the final 8mm wide ribbon. We suspect that this ribbon was produced sometime between the 1920s and the 1950s, but it is hard to know for sure. What we do know is that it is nearly impossible to find.
Because of the nature of the metal, you can expect this to tarnish over time unless you keep it tightly sealed. We like the vintage look of the tarnish and welcome the patina to our projects.

This charming little ribbon rosette measures about 1-3/4 inch from long from point to point. Rosettes measure from 3/8 to 1/2 inch in diameter. They can be fluffed or crinkled a bit to satisfy the size you require. This little motif is perfect for lending an air of vintage delicacy to any project.
Each flower is about the same with a pink rose on either side and blue rosette in between. An eggshell white ribbon holds the rosettes in place. These are sewn, not glued, and probably hail from the 1930s or 1940s.

We've taken a large 5-3/4 by 9-3/4 inch muslin bag that is embroidered with a delicate image of gorgeous lavender and filled it to the brim with more than 10 yards of vintage lace and trims. Some of the pieces date back as early as the 1920s; some is from the 1980s and some from lots of times in between.
We've included new old stock, reclaimed pieces, handmade and machine made items. There is beaded fringe, regular fringe, maybe even suede or ultrasuede trim. There might be a doily or a cuff, or part of a tatted edging. Each bag is full of different items. Most pieces measure 6, 12 or 18 inches, some are larger and some are smaller. But it all adds up to 10 or more yards.
We've also included a bundle of vintage paper forget-me-nots in bright blues, pinks and white and a vintage sewing notion (maybe twill tape, bias tape, gimp, or...). The pieces are from around the world: France, Italy, USA, Japan and more.

Copper Metal Mesh Tubing - 30+ inch Package

Silvery Titanium Mesh Tubing
This really cool component appears to be a ribbon of metal mesh at first glimpse. The fun arrives after you start playing with it. It is really a metal wire-knit tube. Be careful, because it is fragile, but it will hold up well overtime as long as you handle with care.
You can create a necklace by adding crimps on the ends or choker clamps, or use your imagination for finishing.
You can pull and shape this mesh endlessly. It begins with a 6mm flattened diameter. You can open it up and put beads inside and it will stretch as any knit tube would. Of course, as you stretch it wider, the length becomes shorter. You can knot it between beads or even put some of the beads on the outside. What fun you'll have!
If you change your mind, it is easily reshaped by flattening it out again and pulling on either end.
Mesh can be pulled and shaped into interesting forms. Reshaping is accomplished by rolling and pulling the entire strand tight, however, you may affect the overall length of your mesh by pulling on it.

The little elephants and rattles that surround it are included along with the words. Each motif is multicolored and very sweet and includes a rattle, teddy bear and little elephant, too. The ribbon is surprisingly supple for its age. In fact you might just want to use parts of it to embellish a card or other baby specialty. Of course, there are lots of big babies out there who might love this as well.

Vintage Old-Stock White Wrights Bias Tape

Old sewing notions and supplies seem to be much more fun than exactly the same items that can still be purchased today. We love the graphics, the label foxing and the overall feel of the older items. Even if we never use them, the old items bring about smiles when we come across them in our sewing baskets.
Such is true of this wonderful old Wrights White Bias Tape. Each vintage package was originally priced at 15¢ and contains 6 yards of linen-white bias tape. We have not opened the packages, so it is very possible that these were originally bright white and that time has changed their color, but we cannot be sure.
The tape is fine percale, single fold and measures 1/2 inch. According to the Wm. E. Wright & Son's Co. package, it is guaranteed colorfast - not to fade. The commercial production of polyester began in the United States in 1953, and we believe these packages to be from just after that.

Vintage Dark Green Gimp Cord
Gimp is narrow ornamental cord or fabric made of silk, woolen, or cotton, often with a metallic wire, or sometimes a coarse cord, running through it. Gimp is an old-fashioned word for a product that might just be known as cord today. It is used as a trim for garments as well as for household décor.
Our dark green gimp is of several varieties, but all contain about 90 yards per spool. Many of the spools we have still have the label intact, but some do not. This batch of cord is in very fine condition although some of the labels show some foxing - especially the ones made of cellophane. Two of the most easily identifiable brands are Raphael and Berkeley. These spools hail from the 1920s and 1930s.

Abaca is considered a hard fiber. It is the Spanish name for what is more widely called Manila hemp, and comes to us from the Philippines. Unlike true hemp, it is a member of the banana family and is sometimes called banana cord.

Woven Metallic Battenberg Lace Tape by the Inch in Silver
Lace tape is so very useful in many applications and this is ever so much more exciting because of the silver metal threads that are woven throughout. Measuring 5mm in width, it is the perfect size for doll clothes and holiday ornaments. In fact you can weave another color of thread, cord or ribbon through the center lacy opening for a very special effect.
This is not sticky tape, but rather woven tape, much like a ribbon of lace. The tape is sometimes sewn in patterns and shapes, forming intricate designs of lace, without the actual lace making. The original was created in Germany in the 19th century for sale throughout the world.

What a versatile item! This 3mm (in diameter) chain fits through the 1/8 inches whole in SilverCrow's Military Spec Dog Tags for a perfect keychain.
We recently used these to attach a special card to little bells for wedding favors (sample coming soon!) We've also seen them used to bind small books. Adjust length by cutting with wire cutters between two of the ball links and refastening the connector.
Even ordinary tags look great when attached with these chains! We're especially fond of these used with industrial tags! Connect several together for length. Add to the Ball Chain Necklace as an extender. The possibilities are endless!

There are typically 14 images per ribbon with some plain ribbon on either side. These are a unique adornment for your wrist (just tie it) or hair.
But, our favorite use is to attach to clothing or use in your artwork. or sew it onto a piece of clothing, pillow, etc. These are lovely when framed in charms, too!

Natural Color Simulated Sinew - 20 yard Spool

Sinew is a staple of historic Native American costume and household creations. The original natural sinew was made of the shredded fibers animal tendon. Used as cordage and a tying medium, it is naturally quite strong. It also shrank as it dried, providing a tight seal in any project.
Our simulated sinew certainly resembles the natural animal version. This synthetic version is made of 4-ply nylon cord. It looks and splits like the real thing. Super strong, we highly recommend this product for heavy sewing and construction of craft projects.
If you're thinking of making your own dream catchers, you'll want to use this for the webbing for an authentic look and feel.

Black Elastic Mask Backs - Package of 5
This is really hard to find - at least we thought so until now! These black elastics have barbs on either end. Designed to hold on a party hat or a mask, we're sure you'll find many more uses. Each elastic measures 11 inches from barb to bar. To use, created a tiny hole on either side of the mask or hat and feed the barb through the hole. Repeat on the other side. The stretching effect of the elastic will reposition the barb to lay flat - holding the end in place - so much more effective than a knotted end!
