Sometimes the larger nichos are just too big - especially if you want to add to an assemblage or other mixed-media artwork.
Our flaming corazón nicho is really more like a little frame. The glass window is heart shaped and holds a picture about 1 inch overall. But, with some patience, other mementos can be added in the slot, similar to a standard-sized nicho.
You can paint, decorate or collage the frame/nicho, but it is quite elegant all on it's own. There is a antiqued copper patina that has been lightly lacquered for effect. The opening is in the back - just flip up the little metal closure.
This hand-crafted work of art has been individually made by a Mexican artisan the tradition of years of tinwork. Please allow for the variation that handwork promises. Each piece measures about 3-3/4 inches high by 2-1/4 inch wide.

This primitive style locket has been hand made of silver and oxidized. Made by traditional Mexican artisans, it measures 2-3/4 inches long by about 1-3/4 inch wide. The heart-shaped locket opening is in the center and measures about 1 by 1 inch. The door is about 1/4 inch deep, so you might add some treasures in the door as well as the locket face.
This large pendant has a self loop on the back and would be just right on a leather cord. Because of its size, you might want to use it in our artwork, adding it to a nicho or treasure box, too!

Valentine Cuties Dresden Ornament
This wonderful heavy-weight red Dresden base is just what you need to create old-fashioned paper ornaments for Valentine's Day, Christmas or any other occasion. Add a little scrap picture with a dab of glue to the center (or even a Victorian-style sticker), maybe a few pieces of angel hair or krausbouillion and you'll create a brand new heirloom!
The base of the ornament measures about 3-1/4 inches in diameter (from one point to the opposite). The loop on top is for hanging and adds about 1/4 inch more. This striking Dresden is metallic red on both sides and is weighty enough to be the base for a complex design.
The embossing on these reliefs is superb. These are made in the same fashion as they have been for many, many decades! Some trimming is necessary, just as it was for the originals.

Each Mini Dashboard or Computer Shrine was created for us by Los Mestizos - the world-famous Chicano folk art team of Kathy Cano-Murillo and her husband Patrick Murillo.

Our larger heart with banner is so popular, that we were delighted to find these mini ones! These wonderful heart banners are just fabulous for presenting a personalized gift. Heart and Hands Tin Ornament
This charming tin ornament is reminiscent of the Irish claddagh. The symbol of heart and hands is seen in many cultures - representing friendship and love. The cross atop the heart represents faith.
Each of our ornaments is hand formed and painted in the traditional manner by Mexican artisans. So each is absolutely unique - a work of art, made with care. The design is much like that of a heart milagro. Even though this is an ornament meant for a tree, we think it is lovely placed on a wall with a simple nail to hold it.
