These are great boxes for just right for displaying jewelry or other items you might create. They were originally meant to display and sell vintage Christmas items. We hated to part with them because they are so well made of hard plastic. Some even have the vintage stickers from the original products on them!
Most are bright green as shown in the photo; some are a little darker. All of the tops are clear.
The base measures 6-3/4 by 2 inches. The top is 6-3/8 inches by 1-3/4 inch and 3/4 inch high.

This stunning bowl hails from the largest African Tribe (the Zulu). The Zulu have long been known for unmatched skill and artistry in weaving baskets from native grasses. Urban Zulu, faced with little access to natural materials, are now fashioning the same baskets from recycled telephone wire. This bright, washable and sturdy basket, or mbenge, is one of many created in unlimited colors combinations of intricate, mesmerizing designs. No two are alike - as the colors of the wire available and the patterns differ!
This gorgeous bowl will make a striking statement in any room - the red, black and white wires are quite stunning. The colors are the same in each of the bowls and the patterns are very, very similar, but not exactly the same - making each bowl a masterpiece work of art that only you will have.
You can certainly use this sturdy little bowl or just display it as elegant décor. It measures about 6-1/2 inches in diameter and from the table to the top of the bowl, it is 2-1/2 inches.
Wash in warm, soapy water. As it is woven, please don't expect it to hold liquids. It is not dishwasher safe. We recommend that you not use this for unwrapped food.

Much the same as our tiny vials, this large glass vial can triple as a storage container, a shrine display or even a memory or devotional bottle.
The cork fits quite snuggly. But, of course, you might want to seal the cork to the bottle with sealing wax, glue or in some other manner if you choose to preserve the contents.
We love the idea of layering special items inside or, indeed, to create a puzzle of sorts by filling it with sand or rice and enclosing a few miniature objects inside to hide and re-appear!

What fun to serve your next dessert in these old-time waxed paper ice cream cups. They are made of heavy paper that has been coated with wax - insuring that any melted ice cream won't leak through the paper. Now, these are still produced in some form, but not like these originals made by the Sweetheart Cup Division of the Maryland Cup Corporation. Each holds 3 fluid ounces of ice cream (or anything else).
The label on either reads:
WARREN Sanitary's Best by Test REAL ICE CREAM Delicious 3 FL.OZ. Ice Cream
The base is inset to create a footing for the cup so that it doesn't move easily on (or off) the table. On the inner lip of the base, it reads:

These appear to have been produced in the mid-20th century. There is no zip code included in the address, so this is a tell-tale sign, as the first zips were used in the 1960s, and they weren't mandatory.

What a cute idea! These little plastic capsules resemble medication or pills. But, the best medication ever is really inside - you can write a little love note or thank you or blessing on the enclosed paper strip and slide the golden ring around it and add it to your project - jewelry, memory boxes, shrines and the like.
Each 2-color capsule contains one strip of paper with a ring and the entire capsule measures just under 7/8 inch long when closed. The diameter is about 1/4 inch.
As you can see from the illustration, there are different colors and designs on the pills. However, not all of them feature such writing. And, only one side features writing. So few are alike that we cannot offer a choice, so please let us choose one for you. We're showing only a small sample of the different ones we have received.

Mini Amber Glass Bottle with cork Charm
Of course we have lots of other little bottles and vessels and tubes and the like. But, we were quite take by the amber color of these little glass bottles. Each one features a tiny cork with a silvery eye at the top to help it work as a charm.
The cork fits quite snuggly. But, of course, you might want to seal the cork to the bottle with sealing wax, glue or in some other manner if you choose to wear the little bottle.
Not including the cork the bottle measures 15/16 inch high by just under 1/2 inch in diameter at the bottom (the widest part). The cork adds an additional height of about 1/8 to 3/16 inch and the hanging loop adds a touch more height as well.

These little silver steel tins measure 3-1/4 inches by 2-1/2 inches and 3/4 inch deep when closed. We were so amazed by all the work that went into these tiny boxes. There are punched or hammered accents on the top and sides of most of them. And all of the edges are folded inward for a nice finished look. They still appear somewhat primitive, which we love.

We were absolutely charmed with these tins. We're not sure of their purpose other than for advertisement, but they are quite sweet. Measuring 1-3/4 inch diameter and about 1/2 inch deep (with lid on), they are perfect for those little items on your workbench or studio table. And they can be used in any assemblage as well.

These bottles are definitely old-style with extra design features and show some wear and tear as they were returnable bottles. We've not completely cleaned them as we don't like to harm the value. They have been dusted off, but you might decide to clean them further.
The bottom of the bottle has been impressed with serial numbers and other information.
These were found in the Old Mission Bottling Company in Donora, PA (once an ice house). Donora is the home of SilverCrow Creations. The Donora Volunteers bought the building for storage. We thought this a great way to support the DVFC and their valiant efforts.
Annie's Dad was a firefighter for over 60 years here in Donora - and he never wanted to throw anything away. We thought this a great way to remember him and honor our local heros.
Each bottle measures 9-1/2 inches high by 2-1/4 inches (the bottom diameter).
We will donate the entire profit from every purchase to the Donora Volunteer Fire Company. Only the difference in shipping it will be deducted from the price!
What a great vase for just a few wild flowers, or a nice display bottle. Or, buy one of our old-fashioned laundry sprinklers and use this bottle when you're ironing.

Such sweet little valentine boxes as these are still made, but not so nicely as these. Each is made of cardboard and features a satiny fabric top with a touch of padding. You'll know that these were once red - just because of their shape and style. Now some of them have faded with the years, but they are ever so darling, too, just because of that!
Each box is in good vintage condition, with some fading of the fabric and some discoloration of the original white lining inside box. There are some slight aging issues, but we love how that one makes each one special.
Most are marked, Made in Japan and some have the original price (10¢ or 15¢) stamped on the bottom. The box measures 2-1/4 inches by 2-1/2 inches by 1 inch deep.

Fashioned after an old-style bottle urn, our high-fire pendant has a natural off-white finish and brown shading for an unglazed look. On either side of the top, you'll find large holes that complement the urn's ancient style. You might use these to add a leather cord and make it into a necklace.
The interior has been glazed, but it should not be considered food-safe or waterproof.
The urn measures 1-3/4 inch tall by 1-3/8 inch wide and 9/16 inch deep. The cork adds another 1/8 to 1/4 inch to the height.

Vintage Celluloid Comb Case
So many years ago, lives were so much more discrete. Fine ladies secured their combs, brushes and other even their hairpins in elegant containers. With the advent of inexpensive plastics in the 1930s, vanity items like these became more readily available. We are fortunate to have a few of these special comb or trinket cases made of true celluloid.
Some of our cases are hinged and others have slip off lids, but they all resemble the two in the illustration. Measuring 4 inches by about 1-1/2 inch and 3/4 inch deep, you'll find all kinds of uses for these.

Oh, how we adore these! We actually had made one or two years and years ago when we were little kids. This is the ultimate recycling - and even a great project for kids today. Cards contemporary with the maker were cut to size and then stitched together with cord, yarn or ribbon. An endless variety of cards made the patterns quite festive for year round use.
Of course, each one of our bowls are different. We're showing four of them for variability. They range in diameter from 3-1/2 to 5 inches and are quite the conversation piece!

Leaf-Shaped Bowl made of Recycled Paper

Adapting necessity to art, traditional basket-making techniques are used to make these wonderful little pots or bowls. Artisans use recycled posters from printing companies. First they make long flat strips of paper, dipped in glue - then dried. Then, after the strips dry, the artisans wet them again form them into useable shapes, like this little bowl with a lid. It is all held together with the glue as the strips are coiled. Sturdy household items are the result.
The brightly colored random patterns are derived from the shapes and the contents of the posters used, so you may see some printed words on yours, too.
We were particularly enchanted with the leaf-shape of this clever bowl. It is great in any room - even on your desk. It measures about 5-1/2 by 2-1/4 inches.

Originally invented for cleaning lab ware, our test tube brush can reach inside as skinny spot and with a few swirls, it will efficiently cleanup even a messy vessel. Now you'll wish you were the Easter Bunny, just so you can carry one of these darling little baskets on your back. In fact, these little wooden woven baskets were made to be carried by bunny statues and candy containers in the 1930s.
The basket measures between 1-3/4 and 1-5/8 inches high and is tapered, with the larger end (about 1 inch in diameter) open on top - ready for you to fill with chenille goodies, or even the real thing - candy! Each basket has a lovely silken ribbon woven through the upper staves to hold the little basket on its bunny!

Unfinished Wooden Needle Case

Mini Glass Test Tube Charm

One Ounce Amber Glass Bottle with Dropper
What a great little bottle for storing light sensitive mixtures. The glass and the pipette (dropper) are all glass. The stopper is a rubber bulb with a twist black plastic lid. We really just liked the looks of these.
SilverCrow suggests that our regular pipettes (eye droppers) be used as a unique way of adding a controlled amount of water to your watercolor pans or to your penciled-in watercolors on paper. With these little bottles, you can have your water (or other liquid) ready at any moment by storing it inside! The amber color helps protect the contents from fading.

These are the 75ml polystyrene unbreakable test tubes we once used to package our mica. They are quite wonderful for storage, for sea-faring "notes in a bottle", to add to mail art collages in soda pop bottles, to start seedlings, as a vase for a single bud, to tie together as a container for found objects, the list goes on…
Comes with tight fitting, but removable, plastic cork. Tube is just about 1/2" in diameter and 3 inches long. The cap adds another 1/2" to the length of the tube.
