Flat backed hearts like these are great for just about any kind of artwork, because they are easy to attach - even to jewelry. Of course, you need the right adhesive.

Vintage Miller Line Clover Brand Carbon Paper in Original Package

Vintage Valentine Cuties Scraps
Krausbouillion
Made right here in the SilverCrow Studio, our sweet Valentine ornaments are made of new and vintage German and other imported components. Vintage Heart Ribbon by the Heart
More Ties
Shaped ribbons are still made today, but there is something so very special about the older ribbons. Our Lover ribbon is just such a find! It measures about 1-1/4 inch at the widest and each heart reads - in script,
I Love You
The cerise lettering on the pale pink ribbon is even more old fashioned. We are selling this ribbon by the heart - all connected.
We bought this in an old, old craft store in a Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania neighborhood before it "went modern".

Full Card of Vintage De Long Safety Pins
More Pins & Clips
What a find! Here's a full card of DeLong Never-Rust Safety Pins. The display card is in superb condition as are the pins themselves. Each card measures 5-1/4 inches tall by 2-1/2 inches wide and displays 6 safety pins. The pins are held from the back in the simplest of manners - a slice of cardstock slips through the backs of the pins.
When these were originally sold - back around 1950, the price was only 10˘ per card. These are old store stock - never used - they were found in the old Janney-Marshall building in Fredericksburg, Virginia. They show very little if any aging.
The card boasts:
DeLong® RUST? NEVER!!
6 GUARDED COILS No. 2
We are so charmed by the quality and artwork on these older display cards and packaging. Just look at the gradient blue background and the sweet roses. Every little touch was special.

Vintage Raw Brass Stamping - Butterfly
More Insects
Created from raw brass, these vintage butterfly stampings are quite lovely. Their patina from natural aging is hard to match with pseudo-aging agents. So, we think these are quite usable as is. Of course, you can alter them in any manner you please.
Each motif measures 1-3/8 inch at the widest and 1-1/4 inch from top to bottom. The wings are bent slightly upward, allowing the motif to resemble a butterfly in flight.

Vintage Glass Beaded Person Charm
More Charms
We fell in love with these darling little beaded people. They resemble dancing dolls, but could be clowns. They were originally called stick charms - because the look like stick people. The arms and legs are slightly posable, but we suggest you don't do much of that - you wouldn't want them to break. Each charm measures 1 inch long and about 1/2 inch wide.
There is a teeny weeny ring atop each little person's head. You can use this to attach to your charm bracelet or other project.
These are vintage old store stock from the mid-20th century. They are made of glass seed and other beads.
Three charms are shown for variation. Colors are assorted only. So, please let us choose one for you.

Vintage Old-Stock White Wrights Bias Tape
More Things for Tying
Old sewing notions and supplies seem to be much more fun than exactly the same items that can still be purchased today. We love the graphics, the label foxing and the overall feel of the older items. Even if we never use them, the old items bring about smiles when we come across them in our sewing baskets.
Such is true of this wonderful old Wrights White Bias Tape. Each vintage package was originally priced at 15˘ and contains 6 yards of linen-white bias tape. We have not opened the packages, so it is very possible that these were originally bright white and that time has changed their color, but we cannot be sure.
The tape is fine percale, single fold and measures 1/2 inch. According to the Wm. E. Wright & Son's Co. package, it is guaranteed colorfast - not to fade. The commercial production of polyester began in the United States in 1953, and we believe these packages to be from just after that.

Vintage Dark Green Gimp Cord
Gimp is narrow ornamental cord or fabric made of silk, woolen, or cotton, often with a metallic wire, or sometimes a coarse cord, running through it. Gimp is an old-fashioned word for a product that might just be known as cord today. It is used as a trim for garments as well as for household décor.
Our dark green gimp is of several varieties, but all contain about 90 yards per spool. Many of the spools we have still have the label intact, but some do not. This batch of cord is in very fine condition although some of the labels show some foxing - especially the ones made of cellophane. Two of the most easily identifiable brands are Raphael and Berkeley. These spools hail from the 1920s and 1930s.

If you love krausbouillion, you'll adore this much finer version - and it's vintage as well! From the mid-20th century or earlier, our lovely bullion can be used to decorate your finer ornaments, or sew or embroider it and make your very own passementerie!
You can pull it just like our other crinkle wires, but this one is ever so smooth and slippery. Once it is pulled and lengthened, the crinkly wire is so very fine and delicate that it just must be angel hair. It's diameter is barely 1.5mm,

Vintage Lapel Pin - I'm Helping Smokey Bear Prevent Forest Fires
More Pinback Buttons
More Firefighting

More Vintage Stuff
Smokey Bear has long been popular as the only bear who prevents forest fires. His message rings loud and clear throughout North America.
This great little fold-over metal pin features the bear himself in yellow brown and red. It was made by the Green Duck Company in Chicago, Illinois in the 1950s. This is unused old store stock but some of the pins show a touch of wear due to handling and the original packaging with them all touching.
The entire pin measures 2 inches high by 1 inch wide. When you fold the tab down in the back, it hooks into the fabric of your lapel (or other clothing) and the resulting image that is shown measures 1 inch wide by 1-3/8 inch long.

Vintage Pressed Glass Charm - BLUE Stylized Horse Profile

Originally sold in the Five & Dime stores back in the 1920s and 1930s, this very special pressed glass charm was made in Japan. It measures about 3/8 inch in diameter - not including the little loop.
The color in the glass is slightly variegated, with the main color of each charm is a gorgeous light blue. Even the string is original (the color of the string may vary from the one pictured).
These are new old stock - never used. We even found them in the original box marked Made in Japan. These were manufactured as a novelty - perhaps for a little girl's charm bracelet, so please allow for some variability.

Vintage Millinery Flower Stamens - Black-White & Lime
More Special Embellishments
We love vintage and these are over half a century old! These are not reproductions, but original bundles of vintage stamens that were originally used for making millinery flowers. They are in tremendously good condition. They were made by hand years ago, with the precision of an artist. The stems, or filaments are made of thread that has been stiffened either by water and twisting or with wax. The anthers (tips) are made of different materials that have become to be known as composition.
Flower stamens are not just for flowers anymore. They make great embellishments for all types of artwork and collage jewelry.
This little bundle includes approximately 144 tips (one tip on each side of each stem) on matte not-quite-white stems. Each stem boasts two tips. From tip to tip, one piece measures about 3 inches. Tips are tiny - just about 1/8 inch long. The ends are black/purple - but closer to black on top of white. The stems vary from pale yellow to lime.

This great little motif was collaged and then never used. We were happy to find a group of vintage jewelry findings and were certainly charmed by this clever silvertone motif. This is made of plated brass and the cherries are on a stem with elegantly positioned leaves.
Each piece measures about 2 inches long (not including the loop at the top) by about 1-1/2 inches wide at the widest on the bottom.

Vintage Japanese simplex Whistle (Old Store Stock)
More Music
We're not quite sure how to use these little whistles, but they were all quite the rage in 1948 when novelty companies everywhere where selling them by the gross. We only have a few, but they are all vintage and have never been used (at least that's what we're told). There are old store stock from a novelty company in Ohio.
An alternative name for these was tongue whistle, so we're guessing that the tongue must be used to make these work.
Two whistles are shown for illustration - plus, the inset shows the original box design.
Not for children.

Vintage Cellulose Black Devil Motif

Art Doll Supplies & Components
Our open-mouth devil is quite the unsightly guy - with horns and sharp teeth and an ugly, ugly smile - but we love him just the same.
He measures 5/8 inch wide by 11/16 inch high. But the best part about him is that he has depth - about 1/3 inch. You might choose to glue two of these little pieces back to back to make a two-faced devil's head for an art doll. There are just so very many possibilities!

Full Card of 1 Dozen Vintage Super Steel Snap Fasteners from Prym's
Vintage sewing supplies are not only useful and often much more well made, but the graphics and presentation on them is nearly always superior to comparable present-day products. And this wonderful card of one dozen snap fasteners is no exception.
Each vintage card is full (with 12 snap sets). The card measures 4-1/2 by 3-5/8 inches. The snaps circle an elk printed in vibrant color. The snaps are unsold, never used old-store stock from the 1940s. The card reads:
Prym's SUPER STEEL
MADE IN STEEL ACCORDANCE WITH NOT RUST PROOF W.P.B. ORDER L-68
1 DOZ. SNAP FASTENERS
MADE IN U.S.A.
We have packaged these in cellophane for protection. However, the original card was unpackaged. We are charmed by the manner in which items from the early and mid-20th century were packaged - without protection from shoplifters and vandals. Maybe one day we can hope for this to return.

Package of 100 Vintage Clear Crystal Bicone Chatons
More Beads of All Kinds
We just loved the original box full of these wondrous crystal. Some were loose and we took a photograph of the package when we opened it. The chaton (aka, chatton) cut is particularly elegant due to its supreme clarity and brilliance which is due to the particular style of cutting. Bicones are by far the most popular crystal bead shape because the of the splendid refraction in the crystal when cut in this double pyramid shape.
Our crystals were made in the 1940s or early 1950s in what was then Czechoslovakia. These sweet clear crystal bicone chatons have been made with the famed precision and artistic clarity of the Czech glass and crystal makers.
We have packaged these sparkly beads in groups of 100.

Vintage Horseshoe-Shaped Tobacco Tag
More Smoking
More Good Luck
We bought these from someone who declared that her 97-year-old grandfather told her that his mother used to chew tobacco and she saved these horseshoe plug tags.
These tags were used around the early 1900s to mark plugs of tobacco - tobacco for chewing. Around that time, it was made by pressing cured tobacco leaves together in a molasses-based or other sweet syrup. This was a hand-on process. Customers would cut, or even bite off, a piece of the plug to chew.
Tags like these were used to identify the plug manufacturer. Although many such tags bore the name of the tobacco grower or producer, these do not. Most of these are quite rusty. The points bend under to attach them to the tobacco, or of course, to your project! Some of the points are bent backward already, so please be careful - the points are sharp!

Vintage Raw Brass Stamping - Glasses
For some reason, we believe these to be sunglasses. But, they honestly could be just plain glasses. Well, you decide. This vintage raw brass stamping has great potential for gluing as is. There is a slight depth to this piece, and because the back is not finished, you might choose to bend it or manipulate it in some other fashion. Consider drilling holes in either side and using as a pendant or to create an interesting accessory for your art doll.
The glasses motif measures 2-1/2 inches by 1 inch and is about 1/16 inch deep. These are vintage stampings and they do show some wear.

Little Red Santa Charm (or is He an Elf?)
Measuring a slight 1 inch, our little plastic Santa Claus charm might be mistaken for an Elf. All dressed in red with a snowy white beard, he's waving either hello or good-bye, or, perhaps he might be signaling the other elves to begin their work!
Rather than a traditional loop for hanging, his little cap hooks over into a loop, making him even more special. He can even stand on his own because of the precise molding and trimming.
These little guys are created by a small family-run company in Germany. Skilled artisans, using old-world techniques and plenty of time, have been creating these miniatures for more than 70 years. The exquisite quality of these miniatures comes directly from the workmanship of the molds and tools used to create them.

Vintage Dennison Crepe Paper Streamer: Seasons Greetings
More Streamers & Banners
What glorious vintage crepe paper - all original old stock, not used~! This crepe roll was produced by the Dennison company, well known for their home arts papers and other supplies for decades. Dennison has since merged with Avery office products to become Avery Dennison. So new quality Dennison craft and art products are no longer available.
You'll be charmed by the pretty pink Seasons Greetings with a border and some holly and bells. We love the great pink color of the text, too! The streamers are flameproof (an important improvement that the Dennison Manufacturing Company (of Framingham, Massachusetts) made. This new, old stock (never used) streamer is the greatest for decorating or for you craft projects!
The rolls do not indicate the length, but we're guessing that the roll is 25-30 feet, as most of the streamers made were those approximate lengths.

Package of 10 Vintage White Tyvek Tags
More Tags
Since the initial discovery in 1955 that led DuPont to create Tyvek®, this versatile non-woven paper like substance has become more and more popular. It is lightweight and durable. Before Tyvek's invention, this was an impossible combination. Even heavyweight coated papers are not as sturdy. It is virtually impossible to tear, but it is easily sliced.
We were happy to discover this vintage batch of sturdy tags at an old office supply store that is no longer open! The tags measure a full 6-1/8 inch long by 3-1/8 inch wide. The brown reinforcement highlights the silvery eyelet.
Great for luggage tags, artwork and more, these show a very small amount of color staining - so barely recognizable, that we hardly noticed it - just around the edges of a very few tags.

Vintage Flash World Library Book: How to Overcome Anxiety

More Get Well
Books like these are now a bit smaller and found at the check-out lanes at the grocery. We're not sure where this book was first sold, but we are sure that it's quite interesting. Would that it is a cure?!
The back reads:
You will be able to overcome anxiety by tracing its causes. Once you have done this, modern medicine and psychology can help you. Understand however, that medicines taken haphazardly are dangerous and do not resolve anything...
You should also remember that the anxious child of today will become the anxious adult of tomorrow. Read this World Flash book and learn how to live happily, free of your anxieties, thanks to...
FLASH WORLD LIBRARY FOR MODERN LIVING
Book F34F in the library, How to Overcome Anxiety, was published in 1970, so we're not sure of the techniques that are offered, but it is like any other self-help book - it's up tot he reader to decide.
This 4 inch by 4-1/2 inch by 1/4 softbound book is in pretty good condition for its age. Some of the binding adhesive is loose and the original 50˘ price has been altered to .25. These are old, unsold store stock that we found in Cleveland, Ohio.
There are some interesting illustrations and references to other books from the Flash World Library. With over 150 pages of advice, including some great illustrations typical to the 1960s and 1970s, we're sure you'll enjoy this.
Books from this era of this type were expected to be tossed out after use, so they are few and far between, especially in this fine condition!

Vintage motifs like these were used to decorate candles, papier mâché eggs and ornaments and even crčches and the like. These are still on the original aged waxed paper and are in superb shape. There may be a small amount of breakage, but because they are wax, they are easily positioned back in place.
We can envision all types of uses for these, but most of all, we love them because they are so old, hailing from pre-World War II Germany. Each motif measures approximately 9-1/4 by 3-1/2 inches and may be trimmed for use.
Please be careful with these as they are extremely delicate, but still very usable!

Vintage Lime Green Fabric Mask
More Masks
We love the fabric masks from the 1950s. They were made with cotton or linen fabric and stiffener and molded over mask models for their shape. Masks made today are usually plastic - and even the fabric ones feature plastic bases. Not so with these!
This lime green mask is such a cool color that any lizard would love to wear it! Wouldn't you?
The mask arrived without elastics, which is just as well considering the elastic was made of rubber and would probably have deteriorated right onto the masks. So we've added a 10-inch barbed white elastic for you to add yourself - if you chose to wear the mask or place it on an art doll or mannequin. The barbs are made of metal and slide easily through the pre-punched holes in the masks. The elastic is wrapped in fabric thread for comfort, making it easier on the wearer's hair!
These are vintage masks, so you might want to test them to be sure that you have no allergy to the adhesive.
Two masks are shown to illustrate front and back.

Vintage Plastic Donkey Charm
Vintage Plastic Elephant Charm
Day of the Dead Burro or Donkey
Democrats, zoologists and animal lovers will adore this lovable little donkey with his perky ears and friendly expression. The vintage charm itself is ivory colored so you could really paint it if you like.
Whether our donkey is a jack (male) or jenny (female), it is so very sweet. Donkeys were endeared to Jesus Christ, who was often pictured riding one. Although they are work animals, many of them are treated as pets. Other religions are not as fond of the animal. Considering that the population of donkeys has grown tremendously over the last few years, we know they are hardy animals and are willing to please. Thomas Nast created a cartoon declaring the donkey to represent the Democratic political party in the USA (he also declared the elephant to represent the Republicans).
Our little fellow measures 1 inch from nose to tail and about 3/4 inch tall.

Vintage Glass Belmont Seventh Race Ticket Intaglio Cabochon
More Gambling
Created using a ticket from the Belmont racetrack in New York, this cool little cabochon measures 1-1/8 inch by 7/8 inch and it's about 1/8 thick. Each preserves an image of a ticket for the 7th race for the strangely named horse, ZzCUM. These are old stock intaglio cabochons that have never been used. The one in the illustration is in perfect condition. However, many of these show some wear. You might want to reinforce the back (bottom) of the stone before you use it in your artwork. We like the shabby chic look of the missing pieces of the ticket. Each one reads:

Around the edges, it reads WIN WIN WIN on either side.

Random Vintage Insulator
Such heavyweight insulators as these may date all the way back to the 1850s when they were produced for telegraph lines. Little by little as different technologies emerged, insulators were even more necessary - for telephone lines, electrical power lines and more.
There are thousands of collectors who have researched and indexed the individual insulators and their use. Some are quite valuable while others are just valued for their artistic appeal. In fact, we've seen ashtrays, votive holders and ornaments made from insulators buy just adding chain, charms and a bit of creativity.
Porcelain insulators were never good for communications, but worked well for power applications. Glass insulators worked for both. Some of the oldest ones are just gorgeous.
Our abundant grouping came to us via our good friend, Harry, whose father collected them throughout the eastern United States (and perhaps, beyond, Harry was not completely sure). Harry is now 85, so we can only guess at the age of the collection!
We have not sorted through these or researched them, so yours may well be a gem or a dud. It might be glass or porcelain, made in the USA, Canada or elsewhere. We have seen some sell on eBay for upwards of $300! Now, we have no idea how valuable any of these are. We're selling them as is. Yours may show a bit of wear, or, indeed, it may be pristine.

Vintage Eastern Airlines Wings
More Travel & Journeys
Vintage Junior Pilot Wings
From around 1960, these wonderful wing pins were originally given away to children flying on Eastern Airlines to make the flight a bit more fun. Never used, the pins are made of heavy hard plastic, allowing them to hold up a bit better. These are from the collection of a former Eastern Airlines employee. Each pin measures 2-5/8 inches wide.
Eastern Airlines was a prominent carrier in its time. Originating in 1926, the airline suffered bankruptcy in 1991, without reorganizing and never recovered.
Because these are old-store stock, we do not know the origin or content of the materials, so, please use caution with children.

Vintage Ektachrome Slides
Back in the 1950s and 1960s, many an evening was spent with family watching vacation slides. For some this was boring, for others, sentimental. Most keepsake photos have now been moved to more modern media and slides have slipped into history for the most part.
We have acquired a selection of slides, most from the same studio and most of landscapes and buildings (although a few of people and animals are in the group). The two in the picture are representative of the lot, but each grouping is different. Most read on the border:
EKTACHROME Brown Photo Co. Minneapolis, Minnesota
Some have numbers scribbled in the corners and others have words written on the frames.
We think these are great, not only for the conversations they may start, but for the artistic possibilities for your artwork! Slides, by their nature, are transparent, so they lend themselves nicely to collage and assemblage . They are also small, so they might prove to be just what you need for that special collaged jewelry piece.
You might even want to write a story about your fantasy vacation, using these to document the time!

Vintage Wee (5mm) Brown-Topped Amanita Mushrooms - Bundle of 6
More Mushrooms
What wonderful memories these wee little mushrooms conjure - magical Christmases, good luck wishes, and, let us not forget the gnomes who must use these for tables and umbrellas!
Made from hard composition material in the mid-20th century, these wee little mushrooms are quite detailed - from the white dots atop their caps to the tiny speckled spores beneath.
These arrive much like flower stamens - there are 2 mushrooms per stem. Each package contains 3 stems, for a total of 6 wee little brown topped amanita mushrooms.
The caps measure about 5mm in diameter and from the top of the cap to the point at which the stem of the mushroom meets the wire stem, it measures about 5/8 inch. There will be some variation as these are handmade.
These pretty mushrooms might really be toadstools, not to be eaten in the wild - and, our spun cotton version should not be eaten either! It is rumored that Santa's reindeer pranced around in a flying frenzy after eating these little beauties, allowing them to help Santa travel throughout the world and deliver presents.
Amanita mushrooms are considered good luck in many cultures, especially in Germany. You'll often see them pictured with gnomes, elves and fairies in children's literature.

Vintage Golden Metallic Spiral Wire by the Inch
Treasured family Christmas ornaments have become sought after heirlooms - even for those who might not have had any as children. They are quite rare because of their fragility and ephemeral quality. Many were made for the fashion of the time, never expected to last over 100 years.
Even more treasured are the vintage and antique components from which the ornaments were made. We are so fortunate to have found this wonderful example of such a component - and such a unique one at that.
Our golden spiral wire is created from a tough tread that has been covered with woven metallic fibers and then formed into a spiral. The metallic fibre creates a wire-like structure that allows for some give in the spiral. This truly special piece might also be used for passementerie and other projects requiring metal fibers.
It offers a nice patina, showing its age. We gauge this spiral to hail from the 1920s or 1930s. Indeed, it just might be older than that.
The base thread allows you to manipulate this into circles around ornaments, boxes, appliqués and more. It is quite a treasure.
The woven metallic is about 1mm in diameter. The spiraled piece is 9mm or just under 3/8 inch wide.
The spiral is sold by the inch. Your selection will arrive all in one piece, which can be cut with scissors. However, it cannot be re-pieced easily without gluing or sewing, so please measure carefully for your project.

Vintage Dark Green Fabric Mask
This dark green mask is such is perfect for the Green Hornet as well as any recycle-reuse costume. Add some shredded money and the greedy will be even greener with envy.
The mask arrived without elastics, which is just as well considering the elastic was made of rubber and would probably have deteriorated right onto the masks. So we've added a 10-inch barbed black elastic for you to add yourself - if you chose to wear the mask or place it on an art doll or mannequin. The barbs are made of metal and slide easily through the pre-punched holes in the masks. The elastic is wrapped in fabric thread for comfort, making it easier on the wearer's hair!
Vintage Pressed Cobalt Blue Glass Charm - Woman's Face

Vintage Black Rosary Chain with Golden Links
What a special find! This fantastic chain was intended to make rosaries so long ago. Created from black glass and golden metal, the chain features oblong as well s round beads. The oblong beads are a unique shape that measures about 5/16 inch long by just a touch over 1/8 inch wide. The round beads are flanked on either side by vintage golden bead caps.
The round beads were meant for the Our Fathers (Lord's Prayer), while the other beads were the Hail Mary's, as they are grouped in sections of 10 beads and sometimes 3 beads. Occasionally, there is a bit more chain between the links. Some of the links have tarnished slightly, but we think such patina adds to its beauty. You might choose to leave it as is or try to clean it gently. Please do not use harsh chemicals as this is vintage chain.
This lovely chain is sold by the inch. Your selection will arrive all in one piece, any length you order.

Vintage Hand-Painted Celluloid Flat-Backed Puppies Component
These flat-backed motif features two playful puppies - made of celluloid - one of the first commercially available plastics. These were quite popular in the early to mid-20th century and were molded into jewelry, vanity accessories, kitchen utensils and more.
These little guys came to us in group of celluloid pieces that hailed from the late 1940s and early 1950s. However, these puppies were not marked. Their look and feel is the same, so we're conjecturing that these are from around that time as well.
The motif features two playful pups measuring about 1-1/2 inch across and about 1/2 inch high. The hand painted accents are ever so delightful. The pups have brick red ears and their fur has been washed with just a touch of color so they are subtle but striking!
All of the accents have been hand painted which makes each one more endearing than the next! Each and every one of these is in superb condition for its age and will please you a as much as the next. So, please let SilverCrow choose one for you.

Vintage Vogue Hair Net
More Unique Adornments
How much fun it was to eat at the lunch counter at Woolworth's, Murphy's or McCrory's back in the 1950s! So many people will never know what it was like! We used to get a giant lunch - something like turkey & stuffing, mashed potatoes and gravy and corn or green beans for only $2.95 - and I can only imagine what it would have cost my Mom in the 1930s! Then, we could pop a balloon and our banana split would cost between 1˘ and $1.50 - depending on the little slip inside the balloon. I remember wanting to keep the balloon!
Every one of the waitresses (I don't remember waiters, but maybe there were some) and the cooks (some of these were men) had to wear hairnets like this one! When the laws changed, I remember how upset my Mom and Grandmother were about it - a little cap just couldn't do the job!
Each of these little packages measures 6-3/8 inches and features a Vogue Hairnet - still inside. People weren't as paranoid back in the 1940s when these were produced, so the envelope package is not sealed. The net is inside a folded tissue that slides easily to and from the paper package.
The superb vibrant lithographic printing has lasted through the years - lucky us! This unused old store stock in wonderful condition. Made by the Glemby Company, Inc., this was one of the more popular brands at that time. Because of their popularity back then, there are few found today. So, this is a nice collector's item. This style was especially popular because of the newly added elastic and its French Style.
The colors may vary. The one pictured is Grey.

This one measures 2-1/2 inches when unopened and 3-7/8 inches high when open. The fan is about 2-3/4 in diameter.
These are over 40 years old, so please be careful when opening them. We have not opened each one as they are unused old store stock and we wanted to leave them in their original state for you. We have packaged them in groups of three. All of the ones we have opened are in fine shape, but we cannot guarantee them all as they are vintage paper.
There are several colors - most contain washed blue and pink, some are yellow and some have a splash of green.

Vintage Square John Lennon Pinback Button
Created as a memorial to John Lennon in 1980, this pin is old store stock - never used. They were originally distributed by Ludlow Sales company of New York City immediately after John Lennon's death. These were quite popular at the time as it was such an untimely and emotional loss - almost like the end of an era. They were distributed only through early 1981 and the rest were stored.
This batch of pins is from an original case that had never been opened. They are in great condition, although a few show a tiny bit of rust on the back. The fronts are in superb condition. Each button measures just about 2-inches square. Above John's picture, it reads:
JOHN LENNON 1940-1980
John Lennon fans and Beatles fans will love this pin. But, we think many who weren't fans will appreciate the significance of the times that this pin represents.

Vintage Pressed Glass Charm - White Elephant
More Elephants
Same Charm in Green
Originally sold in the 5 and 10 cent stores back in the 1920s and 1930s, this very special pressed glass charm was made in Japan. It measures about 3/8 inch high (not including to little metal loop) and about 7/16 inch wide.
The color in the glass is slightly variegated, but the main color of each charm is ivory or white. Even the string is original (the color of the string may vary from the one pictured).
The term white elephant is one we remember from the 1950s and 1960s tag sales - often called White Elephant Sales. The white elephant was a rare and beautiful animal and considered sacred in southeast Asian countries as Burma (now Myanmar), Siam (now Thailand), Laos and Cambodia. Still sacred in Myanmar and Thailand, the White Elephant is expected to bring peace and prosperity to the owner. Receiving a gift of a white elephant is both a blessing and a curse. It's rarity makes it a blessing, but to care for it makes it a curse, as it is so expensive.

Vintage Little Orphan Annie Pin
Leapin' lizards! Were we ever excited to find these wonderful old Little Orphan Annie pins. We think they are made of celluloid or bakelite. Though not advertised as such, we've performed the standard tests and expect that they are.
Each measure 1-1/2 inch from her chin to the top of her curly hair and 1-1/4 inch wide. When we discovered these they were all attached to canvas, so we left them on the material for you.
The back of the pin is glued on. So, we're not really sure if this motif was originally meant to be a pin or not. We suspect these to hail from sometime mid 20th century.
Because you're never fully dressed without a smile, if you're in a bad mood, just put this pin on and let Annie smile for you...we're sure that will engender many a smile from those you meet.

Small Vintage Wooden Houses - Set of 2 Connected houses

There are quite a few combinations. We're showing four houses - two sets of two houses to illustrate some of the variation. The largest set is is 2-1/4 inches high by 1-3/8 inch wide. The smaller set is 1-1/4 inch high by 1-3/4 inch wide.

Vintage Aluminum Slide Holder or Frame
Vintage Ektachrome & Other Slides
Slide shows were once an evening's entertainment after a vacation trip to the shore or anywhere else. Now we have digital slide shows and the old slides have gone the way of many other previous technologies - into a shoebox, into the trash, or upcycled into art.
Such an opportunity arises with these, the aluminum slide holders that helped the pretty slides sit in the slide trays and move out into the slide viewer. They were used for 35mm slides and measure 2 by 2 inches. Although aluminum doesn't rust on its own, we're sure that you could add any patina to one of these frames and make it even more special.
Slides not included with the frames. We're showing two frames for illustration only.

Vintage 1950s Nudie Spy Glass - MATURE WARNING
More Risqué & Taboo
Spyglasses like these were quite popular in the 1950s and 1960s. Look through one just as you would a real spy glass and voilŕ - a risqué picture of a young lady. Yes, it's a nudie shot, so these are not for the faint of heart! We have an assortment poses - from reclining, to sitting, to exercising and more, but can't promise any one. The pictures are representative of the nudie calendars found in many the auto garage, army barracks and other manly retreats.
The little "glasses" are really plastic and measure about 1-1/8 inch long and and a bit over 1/4 inch in diameter at the widest point. Just look in the smaller end and point the other end toward a light source to see the photo inside.
These may seem a bit pricey, but they are quite rare - society was much less open to such things in those days. So, if caught, the gentleman or boy would toss such tiny items in the trash. Others ended up broken or ignored. We are very lucky to have found them! These are unused store stock.
Several are shown for variation. Plastic colors may vary also.

Vintage Red Clay Poker Chip
More Stuff for Collage & Assemblage
The Dennison Company from Massachusetts is responsible for so many wonderful vintage items. This poker chip is made of clay and then painted with several layers to indicate value. This particular chip is red and features an inner concentric circle, and within that a four-leaf clover. These illustrations are created in pressed relief - when each chip is created.
These are standard chip size and hail from the early- to mid-20th century.
It would be pretty hard to play poker with only one chip, so we're suggesting that you use this for the base of a brooch or pendant or other collage or altered assembly.

Small Vintage Plastic Orange or Coral Heart (or Leaf) Cabochon
We have always been celluloid and plastic fans here at SilverCrow. There are ever so many possibilities. Especially fun are the flat-backed cabochons like this cool little orange heart. We were torn between calling this a heart or a leaf, because the edges are more leafy, but upon closer examination, it appears to be a heart. Either way, it's quite nice.
Each of these measures 9mm from top to bottom and 8mm from side to side. The profile (thickness) is about 3mm. They are flat-backed for easy gluing. The ridges catch the light, making them even more perfect for your artwork. Make a quick pair of earrings buy gluing posts to the back, or use it in a plastic collage. Vintage Fresh Roasted Peanuts Bag - With Organ Grinder & Monkey
More Monkeys
Unless you find yourself in a huge city or at a street fair in the USA, you'll rarely find a street vendor. Once they were found just about everywhere in the good weather. The picture on this vintage peanut bag brings those days back to mind. The organ grinder and elegantly suited monkey with his tin cup grace the front of this fun white coated-paper bag.
It measures 6-1/2 by 3-1/2 inches - the serrated scallop at the top adds another inch. The back of the bag is larger than the front to allow easy access for the peanut scoop into the bag - it can slide down the back!
Vintage 1939 New York World's Fair Cabochon
More USA
What a find! This little plastic cabochon (12mm in diameter) features golden orange lettering and captures a stylized image of the 700-fott high Trylon, the Perisphere (180 feet in diameter) and the Helicline (950 foot ramp).
The theme of the fair was The World of Tomorrow. Right outside this interesting building was the fair's main attraction - Democracity, a utopian city of the future. Fairgoers viewed Democracity from above on a moving sidewalk, under movies displayed on the sides of the sphere. This was all so very modern at the time. And, we guess that we're living in that world today.
The domed cabochon appears almost like a glass paperweight as the image appears to be projected from the bottom with a clear domed top.
This is truly a rare find and we only have a few of them.

This cool little tin was originally created to hold a sample of anti-pain medication. Considering that the samples were given away in the 1920s, it's in great condition. Vintage Moore's Sautoir Fountain Pen Blotter
Ink & Other Pigments
Pens & Pencils
Other things French
What a great find this is! Each 6-1/4 inch wide vintage ink blotter advertises a specialty fountain pen for the working woman of the 1920s! Imagine!
The illustration features an old time nurse (cap and all) and doctor. Both are writing on medical charts as the patient recuperates in bed. Unused old store stock in excellent condition.
The description is right on the blotter. And the nurse is obviously using one of these really neat pens:
Moore's Sautoir Fountain Pen The ladies' favorite for professional, business and social use. With silk neck ribbon and gold or silver mountings, $4.25 up. Self-filling and non-leakable.
The pen is illustrated as though it is writing the advertisement itself in script:
Moore's won't leak
The sautoir (French for necklace) pen is perfect - wouldn't that be great even today - so that no one will walk away with your favorite pen! After all, in 1920, $4.25 was quite dear. That would be $45.26 today!
Of course you can use this great little piece of history for its intended purpose - to blot your ink, or, of course it makes a great collector's item.

Reproduction Frozen Charlotte Dolls
More Art Dolls
Just like our Vintage Frozen Charlotte Dolls, these little Frozen Charlotte Doll Heads have seen better days. After having examined these one at a time when we received them, we're sure you'll fall in love with them like we have.
The dolls were made from the 1850s through the early 20th century and sold for about a penny each in the United States. Children would dress them and were able to collect a few because of the nice price. In fact they were often called penny dolls.
These lovely doll heads have been dug up in Germany near the original factories where they were made. Every one seems to be different from the next. We think the damage endears them even more. We have not cleaned them, so you can enjoy discovering the unique beauty of your own doll's face and hair. Just use a mild soap gently with water.
If whole, these lovelies might sell for $125 to $300 each. The heads measure from just under 1/2 inch inch to just over 1-1/4 inch high. If you have a specific request, we'll try to honor it. However, these are vintage and we only have a limited grouping.
Several of the dolls' heads are in our illustration, but we do have more than the pictured ones. We have added an American penny to the picture to illustrate size.

More Clowns, Carnivals & Circuses
Black Skull Balloons
Oh, wow! Were we ever excited to have found these! These are so very special - they were made in the 1940s and were usually include with a figural balloon, like a clown or Santa or even a Disney character. They were actually mentioned in the June, 1951 issue of Mechanix Illustrated.
This little cardboard gizmo looks just like a pair of clown shoes. The die-cut cardboard is charming in its simplicity. And, the instructions are printed right on the item itself:
TOSS-UP BALLOON Twist balloon at mouthpiece, inserting end in hole in card- board feet, pull up through slot.
Now the fun begins. Once the balloon is placed in the shoes, you toss it up and wow! it lands on its feet. The simple physical dynamics make it work.
We have seen packages of these with their balloons sell for as high as $85.00!
Why not have some old-fashioned fun with these at your next party with balloons. These are meant for balloons you blow up yourself, not for helium-inflated balloons.

Vintage Broken Frozen Charlotta (Charlotte) Doll
Each of these tremendous little dolls is more interesting than the next. We had a hard time working once these arrived. We had to examine each and every one of them. They are called Frozen Charlotte Dolls or Frozen Charlotta Dolls. They were made in Germany
They appear to have have been manufactured as far back as the early 1850s. Their history is quite intriguing, as is their allure. Some are bisque, but most are made of glazed porcelain. They were known in Germany as Bathing Children (Badekinder) or Naked Babies (Nackfrosh).
Charlottes were named after a young Victorian girl who went out dancing with her beau. Against Mother's advice, she left without her coat and froze in the snow. This is the story of an old folksong called Fair Charlotte often attributed to William Lorenzo Carter.
Ours have been dug up in Germany near the original factories. All of our are missing an arm or a leg or feet, etc. We think the damage endears them even more. We have not cleaned them, so you can enjoy discovering the unique beauty of your own doll. Just use a mild soap gently with water.
If whole, these lovelies might sell for $125 to $300 each. They measure from just over 1 inch to just over 3 inches high. If you have a specific request, we'll try to honor it. However, these are vintage and we only have a limited grouping.

Vintage Glass Bird Cabochon

This elegant component is made of indigo glass - so blue it's black or the reverse! The carved bird is highlighted in turquoise or dark green mint enamel. There are holes on either side for stringing or adding embellishments. We don't suggest that you drill this piece unless you do so with a glass drill under water.
Each cabochon measures about 1-1/4 inch by 1-5/8 inch and will make a stunning statement in jewelry or artwork. When we purchased these pieces, we originally intended to make pendants. We understood from the vendor that they were from the late 19th or early 20th century.

Because they are made of plastic, you can easily drill through them to attach other adornments.
These crows or ravens measure about 3 inches by 1-1/2 inch, so they'll make a substantial statement! They hail from the mid-20th century (around the 1950s or 1960s).

Tiny Vintage Raw Copper cabochon Base
Measuring in at only 12 by 7 mm (about 1/2 by 1/4 inch), these little raw copper bezel settings for cabochons might be just what you need for your next project. The inner circumference of the oval is about 10 by 5 mm (about 7/16 by 3/16 inch). There is no hanging loop, so this is perfect for attaching to the front of a locket or other necklace or charm base. Or, add a loop of your own to make it into a charm. Because it is raw copper, you should be able to easily patina it as well.
This component is much smaller than it appears in the illustration, so, please check the measurements.

Widow's Mite - From the Time of Jesus
More Coins & Tokens
This is a genuine bronze coin minted in the Holy Land over 2,000 years ago, during the reign of Alexander Jannaeus. What makes this coin of great historical and religious importance is its two references in the Bible, in the books of both Mark and Luke, which relate Jesus' observations of a poor widow's exceptional charity. This coin is identical to the ones she would have had. Coins such as this have been known to collectors for hundreds of years as "Widow's Mites".
The two symbols found on the coin are an anchor within a circle, representing a diadem and an 8-pointed star. They are derived from earlier Greek coin designs that were used in the area. When these coins were originally issued, they were very crudely struck - most examples show odd shapes and off-center partial images. They were the lowest value coins of the period.
Each coin arrives in a small plastic folio, measuring 3-1/2 inches square, with the coin featured in the center. Every coin is different, but each one measures around 1/4 to 1/2 inch.
Even without the religious significance, the coin is a great collectible and arrives with the story of The Widow's Mite, along with a Biblical reference and a Certificate of Authenticity.

Vintage Chenille Animal Figures
Now, we're not really sure why these were created in the first place, but they are definitely unique! Each package contains a set of four chenille animals: [what we think are] a lion, a cat, an elephant and a long-eared dog.
Each figure's body is constructed of vintage chenille and a waxy-paper face is glued on front. The colors vary, but are mostly earthy tones of rust, red and forest.
Use these as is for package decoration, embellished ornaments and whimsical additions to your artwork....But better still, remove the faces and replace with vintage holiday scraps for extraordinary results!
Finding vintage chenille stems (pipe cleaners) is difficult and can be very expensive! And reproducing the vintage feel is time consuming and results are not always satisfactory, so save time with these little fellows!

Small Vintage Plastic Red Heart Cabochon
We have always been celluloid and plastic fans here at SilverCrow. There are ever so many possibilities. Especially fun are the flat-backed cabochons like this sweet red heart. We were torn between calling this red and pink, because the color is really somewhere in the middle.
Each of these measures 14mm from top to bottom and from side to side. The profile (thickness) is about 4mm. They are flat-backed for easy gluing. The ridges catch the light, making them even more perfect for your artwork. Make a quick pair of earrings buy gluing posts to the back, or use it in a plastic collage. Vintage Mechanical Plastic Turtles from the 1960s
These great little old-stock mechanical turtles arrived after a long hibernation in storage. Meant for the vending machines of the 1960s, these little fellows have a wiggly tail and head. They were probably only a penny (or at most a nickel) way back when a small coin could get a ton of loot for kids who knew where to look!
These are in great condition for their age, but be careful with them because they certainly weren't designed to last. There is a little loop hole on the bottom of each - so you can even turn one into a charm.
We've crated each one in a tiny reusable plastic case to protect him on his way to you. These are in assorted colors only - some are two-tone (head and tail one color and shell another) and some are all one color. There are so many variations, please let SilverCrow choose one for you.

Tiny Vintage Ivory Lucite Cameo Bust Cabochon
Now you can make your own cameos - with polymer clay, metal art clay, or of whatever you choose. These are tiny, yet highly detailed.
Each of the vintage cameo bust cabochons features a little rectangular protrusion on the back - allowing you to press the bust into your clay. Please be careful when you experiment - we don't suggest that you heat these as you would the clay. It might be a good idea to create the slot for the cabochon, then bake the clay, then glue the cab in place.
Whatever you choose to do with these will certainly be wonderful! Each measures 9 mm wide by 14 mm high.

Set of 3 Vintage Flat-backed Ballerinas in Pink and Gold
When I was a little girl, my bedroom walls were papered with pink ballerinas. Later on, I chose orange as my favorite color and the ballerinas disappeared! When we found these vintage dancers, I was absolutely enthralled - it brought back so many memories! AND - these hail from the mid 20th century. The pink plastic is highlighted with hand-applied golden paint for a special look. The highlighting is not consistent from one ballerina to the next, but that makes them even vintage looking! Each dancer measures about 1-1/2 inch high.

We don't have enough of any one color to offer a choice, so, please let us choose one for you.
Tiny Vintage Plastic Blue Rose Cabochon
This teeny little rose cabochon is a pale blue and full of detail - especially for its size - only 8 mm in diameter. Made of molded plastic in the mid 20th century, this is truly a great find.! Including the hanging loop, the charm is 3/8 inch high by 1/2 inch wide.
These are dainty little charms and there are many variations. However, we will be glad to try to honor any special request you might have if we can (such as match them for earrings, red basket, orange flowers, and the like).

Vintage Speedy Alka-Seltzer Cup (with Pill Holder)
More Drinking & Drugs
From way back in the 1960s, this still very useful cup was made for Alka-Seltzer! The little fellow in the logo was Speedy. This collapsible travel cup is great for a tote, a purse, pocket or glove box. It folds down to 2-3/8 inches in diameter by 1 inch high.
It opens to just about 3-inches tall. The lid contains a small covered compartment to hold 2 fizzy Alka-Seltzer tablets or other pills.
This is old store stock that was originally a give-away with the purchase of a box of Alka-Seltzer. The cup is very collectible, but, because it is in pristine condition, we're sure you could use it for its original purpose!

Vintage Butterscotch Bakelite Disk or Chip
More Assemblage & Collage
Perhaps these disks were originally meant for a friendly game of poker. After all, not all gaming takes place in a casino! Or may be they were used for jewelry. We don't know. But we do know they are a delicious butterscotch color. There are swirls of subtle color and marbling throughout each disk.
Each chip measures 1-1/2 inch in diameter and 1/8 inch thick. There is little or no surface wear.
You'll love using this in your artwork or jewelry making. Or, maybe just add one or two to a gaming collection.

Vintage Paper Strip of Pins by Dennison by the Inch
This great roll of pins was made by the Dennison Corporation. Dennison stationery items are so highly collectible. But, we just couldn't resist this roll of pins. The roll was probably part of a machine that applied pins, but we're not sure. We think the strip is pretty cool even though pins are missing throughout - we like the occasional way they are in and out of the paper. How desirable as a different addition to your altered art or collage project.

Set of 4 Vintage Waxed Ice Cream Cups
Vintage Wooden Ice Cream Spoons
Even More Vintage
What fun to serve your next dessert in these old-time waxed paper ice cream cups. They are made of heavy paper that has been coated with wax - insuring that any melted ice cream won't leak through the paper. Now, these are still produced in some form, but not like these originals made by the Sweetheart Cup Division of the Maryland Cup Corporation. Each holds 3 fluid ounces of ice cream (or anything else).
The label on either reads:
WARREN Sanitary's Best by Test REAL ICE CREAM Delicious 3 FL.OZ. Ice Cream
The base is inset to create a footing for the cup so that it doesn't move easily on (or off) the table. On the inner lip of the base, it reads:
- + BS303, BY SWEETHEART CUP DIV. OF MARYLAND CUP CORP., BALTIMORE, MD. U.S.A. S-68161
These appear to have been produced in the mid-20th century. There is no zip code included in the address, so this is a tell-tale sign, as the first zips were used in the 1960s, and they weren't mandatory.

Vintage Pale Green Dennison Silver Accent Flameproof Crepe Streamer by the Inch
This very special crepe streamer was created by the Dennison Company, the maker of so many wonderful crafting products beginning over a century ago. We found so very little of it, but thought it might be just what you need to create your old timey ornaments, candy cones and the like. So, we're offering this by the inch.
We expect that the original color of the streamer was a darker green that has faded to a pale sage - and we like it better that way!. There are two metallic silver stripes running the length of the roll and the edges are scalloped, so you can imagine just how wonderful an ornament, badge or flower you might be able to fashion from it.
Each piece will be cut to order until it is gone.

Vintage box of Teardrop Glass Lenses in Dark Smoke Grey
Vintage Round Amber Lenses
More Collage Elements
Oh! The possibilities for these great lenses. Each box of 3 dozen lenses is from the late 1940s or early 1950s. They were made in Japan originally for use as the lenses for sunglasses. But, they are perfect for use in jewelry and assemblage.
Because they are glass, they are fragile, but they are not delicate - we've not broken any yet. The convex shape is great for covering a secret in an assemblage or collage. These are the darkest lenses we have - but, they are still transparent. After all, they are sunglass lenses.
These dark smoke lenses are 53mm at their widest and 63mm long and they arrive in their original packaging. We have not opened all of the boxes in order to preserver their vintage value, we are not sure if they are complete and unbroken. But, in the sample boxes we opened - all were present, individually wrapped and intact.

Vintage Green Crepe Paper Flameproof Streamer
We love crepe paper - and not just for streamers. Make bows and flowers, cover nut cups, make ornaments. The possibilities are endless.
And, on top of that, this is VINTAGE crepe. This is just what you need for making reproduction Christmas ornaments. Using the real vintage stuff makes them look and feel authentic. This crepe roll was produced by the Dennison company, well known for their home arts papers and other supplies for decades. Dennison has since merged with Avery office products to become Avery Dennison. So new quality Dennison craft and art products are no longer available.
The Dennison Flameproof Steamer sticker remains on each roll, but is a little loose on some of the rolls we have in stock. There is some modest wear and a touch of fading (from storage) on the outside of the roll, but that makes it even more appropriate for your vintage projects!
These 35-foot rolls originally sold for 15˘. That and the label suggest that the rolls are from the mid-20th century.

Vintage Chenille Squirrel
More Ornaments and Such
We love chenille and these little squirrel boys are one of the reasons why! Old store stock figures like these are few and far to find, so we are full of ourselves when we find them. Each is sitting on a scalloped cardboard base, so they were probably birthday cake toppers or something of the kind.
Each little fellow measures about 4 inches tall with a hand painted spun cotton head. We think he is holding a spun cotton nut, but it doesn't look like an acorn.
Each one is in pretty great condition considering the age. We suspect they are from the 1950s or earlier. The chenille is a bit flat from storage and there is the occasional spot or crease in one of them. We've added a bit of paper grass and placed each one in a plastic display box, making him ever the more special!
None of these have been used for their intended purpose and they were together in a group when found.
