The base diameter is just over 5/8 inch. If your Santo is smaller, just add some fabric or lace to make it fit. The tips measure about 1/4 inch high - just right to honor the wearer without being too gaudy!

Known as the feathered serpent, Quetzalcoatl has been revered in Mesoamerican cultures since the 5th century. The Aztec culture seems to mention Quetzalcoatl more than others and relates him to the gods of the wind and dawn. He is also associated with merchants, artisans, learning and knowledge. He is quite striking and might appear scary to some, but as a protector to others.
The charm is signed by the artist, but is not hallmarked as sterling silver, although we were told that it was when we purchased them.
Each charm is hand finished and measures 1 inch wide by 7/8 inch high. This is a flat charm which almost makes it appear as a petroglyph of sorts. This might be facing either way.

This tiny pump looks great facing either direction. As you can see from the photograph, the inside of shoe is open, so you might even choose to use this in some manner with a teensy doll.
We were hoping that these could stand on their own (without hanging) - some of them do and some do not. We're showing two charms so that you might see them both ways.

The first talking board, similar to the Ouija board was used in China around 1100 BC. The origins of the name Ouija are less known and more highly debated. The first modern Ouija board was patented in 1891 and was quite similar to the ones we know today.
This little Ouija planchette is a replica of the the directional pointer that people use when reading the future, past or the mysteries metaphysical world with a ouija board. It measures 3/4 inch high by 1/2 inch wide. The hanging hole is interestingly enough placed almost in the middle of the point and is larger than usual. This represents the open space in the full-size planchette.

We made these little charms from hand-painted ceramic Sugar Skull Beads and included them in our SilverCrow Day of the Dead Bracelet Kit. We've gotten so many requests for them that we just had to make some to offer to you.
These are created from handmade beads from Peru that have been hand painted, then we created a loop of beads to change it into a charm! The bead measures about 3/4 inch high by 1/2 inch wide. The loop makes it about 1 inch high (give or take a few millimeters).
Each one is completely different from the next due to the selection of the beads and the handmade nature of the charm. We're showing 3 charms so that you might see the variability.
Please be careful with these as the beads are ceramic and glass seed beads. Due to the nature of their design, they are not as sturdy as a soldered charm.

Hand made from a wooden tile, paper and resin, this elegantly presented bead features the image of the Anima Sola. There are two fine stringing holes that go through the tile from one side to the other (not from top to bottom).
The Anima Sola evokes a spirit of freedom from oppression. Because the main figure is a woman, the image has become an emblem of woman changing her destiny, much like the goddess charms and pendants that are so popular today.
These wooden tiles have been painted black and the image was then découpaged to the top. They are water resistant but not waterproof, so please keep that in mind for your project. Each one is a bit different from the next because all are handmade, but they each resemble the bead above. The bead measures 11/16 inch high by 7/16 wide by 3/16 inch thick.

The coquettish image of the Catrina inspires Maria Belen Nilson's Day of the Dead Catrina charms in sterling silver.
Catrina is the original creation of José Guadalupe Posada, renowned author, journalist and political cartoonist (1852-1913). Posada is credited for popularizing the Day of the Dead celebrations, especially through the creation of skeletal (calaca) cartoons that capture the Mexican attitude towards death.

Delicately, but strongly executed, much like the dance it represents, this lovely charm features detail of one of Edgar Degas' most alluring paintings, Dancers at the Barre. We see the lovely ballerina in the midst of her stretching exercises. Degas was fascinated by the ballet for most of his life. And some of his most powerful work, such as this one, was executed at the end of his career, around 1888.

The little green beads are glass, while the faux pearl appears to be plastic. They are centered on golden metal with a loop at each end for easy connecting. Reversible Pink Flamingo Charm
Flamingos are so very popular for so very many reasons. Some love them because they are kitschy and cool. Others love them because they are funny or beautiful. And then there is Alice, she loved all animals and the Pink Flamingo was a prominent fixture in Alice in Wonderland.
Our little silvery charm has been updated with pink epoxy to really show off this little representation of the big bird. The charm is lots of fun because it is reversible - one side pink and the other dimensional silver.

Our imposing coral skull bead is quite stunning when simply added to a cord and knotted at the bottom (the beading hole is vertical from top to bottom of the skull). As an addition to a Day of the Dead ofrenda or an assemblage tableau, it is incomparable. Each of these beads is unique as they are hand-carved. Some have open mouths; some smile; some have variegated coral coloring - but all are imposing!

These little handmade mugs or cups are a traditional Mexican craft. They are used for miniature displays, doll houses as well as for ofrendas or tables in celebration of Los Dias de los Muertos. They measure about 3/4 to 7/8 inch in diameter and another little bit for the handle or handles.
You might also choose to use these as little charms for a necklace or assemblage.
Each one is hand-formed, and hand painted in a festive color and then hand decorated, mostly with floral designs. so each is a bit different than the next. These are lovely in their simplicity and old-world look.
Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera created designs made of these mini pots on their kitchen walls. They were collectors of most, if not all, traditional Mexican crafts.

Tiny Saint Brigid's Cross Charm or Medal

More Irish & St Patrick's Day
Saint Brigid, along with Saint Patrick, is one of the Patron Saints of Ireland. She is also patron to children whose parents are not married, dairy workers, fugitives, travelers, scholars and many more. St Brigid is also known as Brigid of Kildare, where the story of her cross came into being.
The cross of rushes is now made traditionally on February First (Lá Fhéile Bhríde) - her feast day.
Legend has it that a pagan was from nearby was dying and the Christians from his household sent for Brigid to talk to him of Jesus. This was not an easy task as the gentleman was raving mad with pain. The floor was spread with rushes to keep the room warm and clean - as was the custom in the Dark and Middle Ages.
St. Brigid wove some of the stems and wove them into a cross similar to the one replicated by our charm. Supposedly, the pagan was now able to understand the importance of Christianity and was baptized right before he died.
Our little charm measures only 1/2 inch high by 3/8 inch wide. The medal features the same detailed texture on both sides.
Vintage-Style Oval Orange Cabochon Component
This modern oval rose cabochon caught my eye immediately! I love orange and tangerine! But the style is quite stunning. Just glue it to a ring or a bezel for a pendant. It measures almost 1 inch by almost 3/4 inch (25mm x 18mm - a standard size). The profile is about 1/4. It is flat backed for easy gluing.
If I can remember where I found these, we'll get more, but right now they are quite limited.

Whenever I was upset with the way the world was running itself or with the administration of a large corporation or the government or even just my group of friends, my Dad used to say, "Well, Annie, sometimes you just have to eat crow."
That used to drive me crazy because I thought it was inappropriate. Now that he's not here, when I'm upset with the same things, I can hear him giving me the same advice that I don't want to hear. But, I surely wish I could hear it now!

It has been recorded that some very holy people, especially some of the Saints have the Stigmata. Stigmata are bodily marks or sores in the same areas as the wounds that were suffered by Jesus during his crucifixion.
This charm represents the hand of Jesus as it was nailed to the cross. It symbolizes many different things in different cultures, although they are all related. It is sometimes called the Lucky Hand. It has also been used as a medal attached to the Mano Poderosa (All Powerful Hand of God) amulet bag made by Curanderos and used in other Folk Religions in the same manner.

Mini Handmade and Hand-Painted Mini Terra Cotta Dish or Pot
These little handmade pots or serving dishes are a traditional Mexican craft. They are used for doll houses as well as for ofrendas or tables in celebration of Los Dias de los Muertos. They measure about 1 inch in diameter and, including the little handles about 1-5/8 inch across.
Each one is hand-formed, and hand painted and decorated, mostly with floral designs. so each is a bit different than the next. There is a primitive glaze applied for the firing which makes these absolutely stunning in their simplicity and old-world look.
Several pots are shown for illustration of the variations. We received a large batch of these. No two are the same, so please let us choose one for you.

New Little Silver Bell Charm
We thought we were ordering our other silver bell charm. And we received this. Rather than return these, we thought you might like them! Fashioned a bit like the Liberty Bell in Philadelphia, each little bell has a clapper, but alas, it makes no sound.
The top of the clapper actually makes its way through the top of the bell and becomes the hanging loop! The base of the bell is 9/16 inch in diameter and the bell (not including the loop) measures about 1/2 inch high. It is nickel plated, so it's a nice and shiny silver

We love this plastic crucifix because it reminds us of ones we had in the 1950s and 1960s. Made of modern plastic resin, it still looks old fashioned. The ornate cross is red plastic and Jesus is ivory.
Each measures 1-3/8 inch long by 7/8 inch wide. The profile is less than 1/8 inch. The cross is flat-backed, making it easy to glue. Because it is made of resin, you will be able to drill a small hole in it to change it into a charm.

Generally true vintage African trade beads are made of artfully fashioned crude glass. This one may well be made of glass, too. But we really can't tell and the strands were not marked. They might just as easily be ceramic. We are also not sure of the age of these beads. But, we purchased them over 10 years ago.
The zig-zag, double dot pattern is repeated around the bead evenly - almost perfectly. Of course, these are hand made and each one will vary slightly, but they are all alike.
As you can see from the illustration, the stringing hole is larger than usual. Each bead approximately measures 7/16 in diameter and 1/2 inch long.

These hail from an old novelty store in Ohio. They are old store stock, never used. The original boxes were labeled Dolls of All Nations. They are made of hard plastic, probably from the 1960s, or maybe earlier.

Measuring just 1-1/4 inch long, you might use these as a part of an assemblage necklace or a charm bracelet! Each of these envelopes has a hinged articulated top that opens and closes. Although there is no latch, it remains nicely closed by design. Mini Sterling Silver Charm Featuring Our Lady of Carmel
This tiny little charm is the perfect addition to charm earrings, a nicho - particularly if made in our Nicho Necklace! The image of Our Lady of Mount Carmel and the Christ Child is strikingly clear in this little 3/8 inch diameter charm.
Our lady of Mount Carmel was the inspiration for the Carmelite Order and is quite nearly always associated with the brown scapular, worn by many devoted Catholics. Mount Carmel is in the Holy Land and this devotion to Mary, or the Blessed Mother, was conceived during chivalric times in devotion to Jesus and his mother (around the late 12th or early 13th century).
In the 14th century, Our Lady of Mount Carmel appeared to Saint Simon Stock, who was then the leader of the Carmelite Order. She presented him with the brown scapular which has defined the robes of the Carmelites since then.
Today, devotion to Mary in this image, with the baby Jesus is widespread.

Hand-Made Alpaca Silver Sugar Skull Charm
We were delighted to find these wonderful Alpaca silver charms! Made to resemble festive sugar skulls each is created by hand - shaped, stamped and etched to create a very special image. So, although they are all similar, each is a touch different from the next because of the nature of artisan-made charms.

Sweet Skeleton Day of the Dead Cameo Charm With Oxidized Silver Frame
This is a modern cameo, made of resin, but it does appear to look just like a cameo of old. But, we don't think there were too many Day of the Dead images carved into cameos in Victorian times, but then again.... She's a perfect fit for the Days of the Dead, Hallowe'en, or any day, for that matter. The cameo is a light cream on black and sits in a pretty ball-border silvery setting.

Sterling Silver Gecko Charm

Some time ago, we were lucky enough to drive through the gorgeous land of the Navajo Indians and purchase some wonderful pieces of handmade sterling silver. We do not have the official documentation that this was purchased as a Native American Indian product. So, you'll have to trust us. We paid a fair price to the artist directly.
Each gecko has been stamped with the artists logo on the back and marked Sterling. And, each is a little bit different, but most are very close to the one pictured. This is an elegantly made piece, measuring 1-3/8 inch from hanging hole to the tip of his tail and about 1/2 inch wide from toe to toe.
The lizard or gecko in myth has come to symbolize sensitivity and premonition. Because the gecko can regenerate a tail if lost, s/he also represents rebirth and the circle of life.

The Arch of Triumph - is really known as L'Arc de Triomphe de L'Étoile - The Triumphant Arch of the Star. It stands at the center of a large group of streets that resemble a star emanating from the center of Place de Charles de Gaulle.
Beneath the Arc is the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. The French established this honored memorial after the First World War. The World War One soldier was buried under the arch on Armistice Day 1920. Interestingly enough, it features an eternal flame burning in memory of the dead who were never identified from both World Wars. This is the first eternal flame lit in Europe since the fire of the Vestal Virgins was extinguished in the year 394 AD!
This memorial has been replicated in both England and the United States as a way of memorializing the unknown soldiers as well.
Almost as identifiable as the Eiffel Tower as a symbol of Paris, L'Arc de Triomphe is often included in French inspired artwork.
This photographic portrait is bordered in silvery metal in the form of a bead. It measures just over 3/4 inch high by 5/8 inch wide. Just like our silvery-edged treasure capsule, these copper capsules are the greatest! Our little treasure capsule pendant is made of silvery metal and plastic tubing. It is easy to assemble and lots of fun to use! The end caps even features tiny little hearts in the border decoration.
Make a fairy catcher and display your captive in the tube. Write a love letter and keep it close to your heart. Add some natural crystals for protection. The possibilities are endless for sure!
These are not waterproof or airtight, so if you want to add glitter or a fluid, please be sure to seal the openings with wax or epoxy.

Bright Copper Square Bezel Charm Kit with Self-Stick Acrylic Cabochon
What fun you'll have with this cool charm! There is a shallow bezel for you to add your artwork (just glue it to the base of the bezel). And then use the self-stick acrylic domed cabochon for protection. It will look like you took all day to create this!
