While this is not really a milagro, it resembles one. Double eye milagros generally represent a connection to the popular Santa Lucia, who suffered blindness while being executed. In the end God restored her eyesight.
The single eye might also venerate St Lucy, but more likely, it represents the spirits watching over us. When added to the frame of a picture of a departed one, the eye acts as an angel's eye - watching over the spirit of the beloved ancestor. It may have some connection to the evil eye talismans, but this is not certain.
This little charm measures 5/8 inch wide by about 1/4 inch high without the loop.

Venus de Milo is also known as Aphrodite of Milos. She is an ancient Greek statue - in fact, one of the most recognizable sculptures in the world. Not too much is known of this glorious piece of art. Since it was found in the late 1800s, it has been believed that she is Venus (Roman) or Aphrodite (Greek).
Made of marble, she is slightly larger than life at 6-3/4 feet high. Her arms are missing as is her base. On display in the Louvre in Paris, there is much controversy over the sculptor, but it is thought to be Alexandros of Antioch because of an inscription on the her now missing plinth.
Our little charm is made of lead-free pewter and measures 1 inch high not including the loop and about 3/8 inch wide.

Made of composition (an earlier plastic), he's as sweet as sweet can be walking along carrying his skis. He is 3D (not flat on the back) and sports an exciting green and red suit with black shoes!

This lovely charm is fashioned from lead-free pewter and measures about 7/8 inch high by 5/8 inch wide. The hanging loop is in the back, so that it will also double as a small pendant or focal point of a necklace. Golden Saint Simon Charm
Also known as Maximon, Hermano San Simon is known both as a saint and as a representation of a pre-Columbian Mayan god of the underworld. He is generally represented in 20th century clothing, with a wide-brimmed hat. He is known to represent male power, balancing a moneybag, holding a flag and holding coins in his open hand.
His feast day is at the beginning of the rainy season in South America, and so he is often associated with fertility. He is thought to bring rain and fertility.
Some even call him the patron saint of gamblers, smokers and drunkards. Because of this, he is still worshiped in many Guatemalan villages with offerings of tobacco, alcohol, Coca-Cola and tropical plants. San Simon is pictured smoking and holding a bottle of liquor, beer or wine.
He is thought to wealth and worldly success to those who venerate him, so he is certainly not a traditional saint!

Saint Lazarus has long been known as the Patron Saint of the Sick, particularly of those sick with leprosy. He has represented the poor and the sick in literature, both religious and secular.

Our little vintage 10 Commandments Charm Bracelets are made of brass and measure 6-1/2 inches. They were most likely made in the 1950s or 1960s for little girls as First Communion jewelry. The little charms are either engraved or stamped as the inscriptions on each charm are debossed.
Because these are vintage, there is some wear, just adding to the charm. They bracelets are sweet, but you might decide to remove the individual charms for use in your artwork.

Oxidized Silvery Chai Charm
This well known symbol, seen worldwide on ornaments, jewelry, T-Shirts and more, is the Hebrew word for living - Chai. It is a combination of the two Hebrew letters Cheit and Yod.
As with any symbol there are many interpretations. Our favorite is that this simple symbol represents the importance of life. The symbol is specific to Jewish culture, but it has been slipping into other cultures easily. The well-know Jewish toast l'chayim means to life. The numerical representation of Chai is 18, so gifts to charity are routinely given in multiples of 18.

Silvery Horus Head Charm
In Egyptian Mythology, Horus is represented with a man's body and a falcon's head. He only had one eye because after Osiris was murdered by his brother Set, Horus fought with Set for the throne of Egypt. In this battle Horus lost one of his eyes and later this became a sign of protection in Egypt. For that reason, the Eye of Horus often represents power.

This lovely piece is made of Alpaca silver (also known as German silver). It is an alloy of copper, nickel and zinc (and contains little or no true silver).
