We love crepe paper - and not just for streamers. Make bows and flowers, cover nut cups, make ornaments. The possibilities are endless.
And, on top of that, this is VINTAGE crepe. This is just what you need for making reproduction Christmas ornaments. Using the real vintage stuff makes them look and feel authentic. This crepe roll was produced by the Dennison company, well known for their home arts papers and other supplies for decades. Dennison has since merged with Avery office products to become Avery Dennison. So new quality Dennison craft and art products are no longer available.
The Dennison Flameproof Steamer sticker remains on each roll, but is a little loose on some of the rolls we have in stock. There is some modest wear and a touch of fading (from storage) on the outside of the roll, but that makes it even more appropriate for your vintage projects!
These 35-foot rolls originally sold for 15¢. That and the label suggest that the rolls are from the mid-20th century.

The first known Advent Calendar was produced by hand around 1851 in Germany. Mainly a Protestant tradition, chalk-lines were ticked off as the days grew closer to Christmas. The first Advent Calendars didn't have windows to open. These were added early in the 20th century.
This lovely reprint of a vintage 1950s Advent calendar. The Christmas Story is on the back of door 24. Then, on Christmas Eve, you open both doors and before you, a scene of angels is revealed for all to behold. 24. On Christmas Eve both doors can be opened and a scene of Angels will reveal. Old-fashioned crinkle wire, just like the tinsel used on antique European holiday ornaments. Use it as is or stretch it out and use it in its crinkly form. Wrap it around your project, bunch it up it up, just play with it. You might even want to use it as a curly tinsel garland for a feather tree!
SilverCrow offers our olive Krausbouillion in generous 1/2-ounce packages. Although silver Krausbouillion is the traditional color used in most older European ornaments, we think that you'll be able to fashion some wonderful newer ornaments with this fun olivine crinkle wire, too!
The original Krausbouillion is made in Germany and Austria. Ours is made by a modernized process that plates copper wire, so it is less expensive. It's quite beautiful and lends old world elegance to any project.

Old-fashioned spun cotton mushrooms have graced Christmas trees, corsages and other items for decades. These lovely vintage amanita mushrooms were created of spun cotton back in the mid-20th century and are in wonderful condition. These old store stock beauties measure about 3/4 inch from the bottom of the stem to the top of the cap.
The brown caps are hand stained to look real. They are are highly lacquered and are dotted with little white spots - just like the real mushrooms! The stems are wire wrapped in green paper.
These pretty mushrooms might really be toadstools, not to be eaten in the wild - and, our spun cotton version should not be eaten either! It is rumored that Santa's reindeer pranced around in a flying frenzy after eating these little beauties, allowing them to help Santa travel throughout the world and deliver presents.
Amanita mushrooms are considered good luck in many cultures, especially in Germany. You'll often see them pictured with gnomes, elves and fairies in children's literature.

Rare Vintage Tinfoil Tinsel from US Zone Germany

These fantastic lametta hails from US Zone Germany from the 1940s or 1950s. The packages are intact, but show their age. The icicles themselves are in fine condition and can be used for your holiday décor, or of cores in your artwork.

After World War II, Germany was divided into Four Zones. The Soviet Zone later became East Germany. And the three other zones (US, British and French) combined to become West Germany. Immediately after the war, however, the zones were managed, or occupied by the different nations. During this time, German manufacturers were banned from exporting goods to the United States and some other countries.
American authorities permitted the sale of toys and holiday decorations, as long as they were marked:
Made in US Zone - Germany
'The controlled districts and the manufacturers within were regulated during 1946 and 1947. Even though the regulation was lifted in 1947, the same tooling for the manufacture was used, so some items produced in the early 1950s may bear the same markings.
US Zone items are not as well known as those made in Occupied Japan, but they are of the same ilk and are highly treasured when found.

Valentine Cuties Dresden Ornament
This wonderful heavy-weight red Dresden base is just what you need to create old-fashioned paper ornaments for Valentine's Day, Christmas or any other occasion. Add a little scrap picture with a dab of glue to the center (or even a Victorian-style sticker), maybe a few pieces of angel hair or krausbouillion and you'll create a brand new heirloom!
The base of the ornament measures about 3-1/4 inches in diameter (from one point to the opposite). The loop on top is for hanging and adds about 1/4 inch more. This striking Dresden is metallic red on both sides and is weighty enough to be the base for a complex design.
The embossing on these reliefs is superb. These are made in the same fashion as they have been for many, many decades! Some trimming is necessary, just as it was for the originals.

Tiny Plastic Bunny with Skis Charm
He's only about 7/9 inch high, but he packs a lot of fun in that little yellow backpack of his! This little charm is a design from the early to mid-20th century and was hand-painted! Made of composition (an earlier plastic), he's as sweet as sweet can be walking along carrying his skis. He is 3D (not flat on the back) and sports an exciting green and red suit with black shoes!
These sweet little charms are created by a small family run company in Germany. Skilled artisans, using old-world techniques and plenty of time, have been creating these miniatures for over 70 years. The exquisite quality of these miniatures comes directly from the workmanship of the molds, tools and especially from the artisans who create them.

These wonderful aluminum star ornaments hail from World War II. They were actually sent to the soldiers in the trenches! These are original store stock and are quite modern looking despite being over 60 years old!
The star is made of aluminum with a glass center - the glass centers are on both sides of the star. We like the convex side, but the opposite side seams to reflect light better.
Each star measures about 6 cm in diameter and has a tiny hanging loop at the top. These are original, unused old store stock, so they are in wonderful condition.
We will try our best to honor your requests for center glass color, but we cannot promise that we'll have your choice. So please let us choose one for you. The close-up shows several of the variations.

We are so very delighted to offer this wondrous old golden garland! It was made in Germany in the early 20th century and is a sight to behold! The 1-inch wide tinsel is made of real metal and attached to a cotton string through the center. The string is wrapped with a very thin wire, which makes it easy to model the garland. This is wonderful for making vintage style holiday ornaments for for using on a feather tree.
Each garland measures over 6 feet long, and some are longer than others. These are pre-made to size and can be tied together if you buy more than one!

Chenille pipe cleaners have been used for crafting for ages! We were lucky to find these vintage Santa Claus Package Tie-Ons - Each with a little cap and coat made of velvety paper and accented with chenille pipe cleaners - even for his beard! The little lack belt is made of shiny paper as well.
Use him to decorate your old fashioned holiday tree, or add him to a friend's holiday package. From tip of cap to bottom of coat, he measures about 2-1/2 inches The tie-one chenille stem adds additional length, and, because it originates under his coat, it can be twisted so he can stand up on your tree or package.
These are vintage items and have been used, so they show some fading and wear, but how much more special that makes them!

Our rare tinsel stars are from Germany and were made around Nuremburg before World War II. Each star is made of tinsel that is just a bit crinkled for fullness. This crinkle also creates the most beautiful shimmer when holiday lights reflect. These are old store stock and are in superb condition.

Authentic Vintage Authentic German Spun Glass Wing in 2 Sizes
We at SilverCrow were lucky to find a source in German for real, vintage spun glass components so that you can create Victorian style ornaments for Christmas, Valentine's Day, or just because you want to make them!
These pieces were made by hand in a factory in Lauscha, Germany well before World War II. They are certainly elegantly crafted by highly-skilled artisans who were undoubtedly proud to work.
Spun Glass is a form of fiberglass, so it can be irritating and is not recommended for children. And, even though these are in excellent shape, because of the age of the pieces, we suggest you be quite careful when using them for crafting.

We just love this piece! This gold double-sided crèche can also be used as a mini shrine or grotto. It is easily assembled (it arrives flat). Once assembled, it measures 3 inches wide by 1-7/8 inch high.
The embossing on this Dresden relief is superb, as is the cutting. It is made of card-weight paper so that it will stand easily. Although it is new, it is made in the same fashion as Dresdens have been for many, many decades!
