These enchanting sequins are unused old store stock from the 1920s and 1930s. These are pastel pink sequins that measure between 7mm and 8mm in diameter. We bought a huge amount of all kinds of sequins some time ago and these were loose from the strands. They are perfect for embellishing all kinds of things.
Warning: In bunches, these have an unpleasant scent. Early plastics, such as the celluloid in these sequins often contained formaldehyde and other unpleasant additives. Once separated, the scent dissipates and the sequins are in fine condition for use.

Some are old, some vintage and some pretty new - but see what you can buy with these wooden nickels! Once given to customers in lieu of coupons, these were a clever form of advertising - many people wanted to keep them as souvenirs, so the merchant rarely had to cash them in! And, if someone did us one, it could be given to yet another customer - not like today's throw-away coupons.
First issued in the 1930s, these were introduced when banks were failing as a promissory note of sorts. Most had expiration dates - some even expiration times. So, the phrase "Don't take any wooden nickels" was warning the buyer to beware of soon-to-expire change s/he might receive! Later, they were used as commemoratives for celebrations, and as coupons.
What a great idea for show-and-tell at any age!

We love vintage and these are over half a century old! These are not reproductions, but original bundles of vintage stamens that were originally used for making millinery flowers. They are in tremendously good condition. They were made by hand years ago, with the precision of an artist. The stems, or filaments are made of thread that has been stiffened either by water and twisting or with wax. The anthers (tips) are made of different materials that have become to be known as composition.

When you're making a fairyland, you'll need all sorts of mushrooms. And these are the ultimate. Handmade of silken fabric, this grouping of three (two small and one large) are on stems about 5 inches high. The largest mushroom cap measures 1-1/2 inch in diameter and is about 5/8 inch thick. The two smaller ones measure 1 inch in diameter and about 1/2 inch high.
These are wonderfully made with the variegations in the fabric mimicking the real mushrooms that they imitate. There is an alligator clip at the bottom for attaching to your project.

The upper banner measures 3-5/8 inches long by 7/16 inch. The bottom signpost measures 1-3/4 inch from top to bottom and 1-1/2 inch wide.
These were created as stickers, with the adhesive on the back. So you can really peel them from the backing easily and press them on. For a more permanent stick, it would be best to add your own glue or adhesive.

We just fell in love with this little vintage bow when we saw it! Doesn't it look like the perfect bow tie for a lovely little doll? Or a wonderful addition to assemblage earrings or a necklace?
Each one measures a bit over 3/4 inch wide by 1/2 inch high at the bow ends and it's about 1/8 thick.
The bow is made of vintage oxidized mesh and the center is a bit shinier, but shows a fine vintage patina as well.

The Dennison Company from Massachusetts is responsible for so many wonderful vintage items. This poker chip is made of clay and then painted with several layers to indicate value. This particular chip is red and features an inner concentric circle, and within that a four-leaf clover. These illustrations are created in pressed relief - when each chip is created.
These are standard chip size and hail from the early- to mid-20th century.
It would be pretty hard to play poker with only one chip, so we're suggesting that you use this for the base of a brooch or pendant or other collage or altered assembly.

Mirrored Plexiglas Motif - Standing Greyhound
Several years ago, I found a wonderful plastic store in New York City. There were bins full of these motifs that were made for people who never picked them up for some reason. After digging through them for just the perfect ones for a special project, I found a very few of these mirrored Plexiglas silhouettes of a greyhound standing - ready for anything!
Some may have minor scratches, but they are all in great shape. We only have as many as they had that day, so we can't get any more. Each greyhound measures 2-1/4 inches tall by 2 inches wide. S/he is flat on both sides, but only the front is mirrored. The motif is about 3mm thick.

Mirrored Plexiglas Motif - The King Himself - Elvis Presley

Several years ago, I found a wonderful plastic store in New York City. There were bins full of these motifs that were made for people who never picked them up for some reason. After digging through them for just the perfect ones for a special project, I found a very few of these mirrored Plexiglas silhouettes of Elvis in full bravado singing mode - microphone and all.
Some may have minor scratches, but they are all in great shape. We only have as many as they had that day, so we can't get any more. The King measures 2-1/2 inches tall by 2 inches wide (at his feet). He is flat on both sides, but only the front is mirrored. He is about 3mm thick.

6-inch Strip of vintage Capacitors
These capacitors are the greatest for assemblage or steampunk jewelry. The reinforced paper edges are removable, or you can just cut the wires away with wire cutters or an old pair of scissors. Better yet, line them up just as is for a distinctive addition to a special assemblage or collage.
These were originally intended to manipulate power in electrical devices. We do not recommend that you use them for electrical energy storage as these are vintage and untested. Each strip has been cut to 6-inches long, which will include somewhere between 28 and 31 individual lines. The little butterscotch bump in the middle is the actual capacitor. It measures 5mm long by 2mm wide. The rest of the 2-1/2 inches is wire.
There's lots of potential here for some pretty unusual art!

There are so many possibilities with these wonderful metal stampings. The entire piece measures about 3 inches wide by 2 inches high - each of the images measures 3/4 inch in diameter inch. The stamping can be trimmed with scissors (if you don't care about the scissors too much), but metal cutters might be a better choice. Or, use the entire piece. They are also fantastic for your collages and assemblages - to glue on or inlay. We think these to be made of tin, but they just might be aluminum.

Amanita mushrooms have long been associated with fairies and elves and even Christmas. After all, Santa has hired elves for Christmas work forever! The little red mushroom caps dotted with white give a magical feel to any project.
This set contains a random assortment of 3 little mushrooms with greenery - either pine, holly or grass. Each set has been prepackaged and may or may not have all styles.
The entire pick (with white stem) measures 1-3/4 inch. The mushroom and greenery portion is about 1 inch of that. Although they vary slightly depending on the spread of the greens, the width is just about 1-1/8 to 1-1/4 inch.

Old-fashioned spun cotton mushrooms have graced Christmas trees, corsages and other items for decades. These lovely vintage amanita mushrooms were created of spun cotton back in the mid-20th century and are in wonderful condition. These old store stock beauties measure almost 1 inch from the bottom of the stem to the top of the cap.
The red caps are hand stained to look real. They are are highly lacquered and are dotted with little white spots - just like the real mushrooms! The stems are wire wrapped in green paper.
These pretty mushrooms might really be toadstools, not to be eaten in the wild - and, our spun cotton version should not be eaten either! It is rumored that Santa's reindeer pranced around in a flying frenzy after eating these little beauties, allowing them to help Santa travel throughout the world and deliver presents.
Amanita mushrooms are considered good luck in many cultures, especially in Germany. You'll often see them pictured with gnomes, elves and fairies in children's literature.

These are highly embossed ivy vines cut from a gorgeous matte olive green paper. The 64 leaves can be separated and added to scrap flowers or tissue or crepe bouquets. Or, you can use the entire vine - there are four per sheet - as a border.
Long used for embellishing ornaments and glued to other paper scraps and decoupage projects, these wonderful motifs are appropriate for just about any holiday.
The embossing on these reliefs is superb, as is the cutting. These are new but are made in the same fashion as they have been for many, many decades! Each bird measures between 1/2 to 3/4 inch. Each vine measures around 6-1/2 inches long by about 1-1/2 inch wide.

This very special crepe streamer was created by the Dennison Company, the maker of so many wonderful crafting products beginning over a century ago. We found so very little of it, but thought it might be just what you need to create your old timey ornaments, candy cones and the like. So, we're offering this by the inch.
It is hard to imagine the original color of the streamer, although it appears to be a beige tone. There are two metallic silver stripes running the length of the roll and the edges are scalloped, so you can imagine just how wonderful an ornament, badge or flower you might be able to fashion from it.

At a carnival in the 1950s, I made one of these wonderful tokens on a very special mechanical device. After thinking for what seemed to be ages of just the right sentiment, I impressed my name. 40 years later, my dear friend, Juliana and I found ourselves high atop a New York City landmark, and behold another of the very special machines!
This time, at Juliana's urging, we each made one just like the one in the illustration above, with the sentiment:

These machines are no longer manufactured, but you can find them few and far between at old-time amusement parks and other special places.
We found a wonderful new buddy, Tom, who has a machine of his own and he was kind enough to make these one at a time so we could offer them to SilverCrow's customers. He not only made them one at a time - and each letter had to be selected and then individually impressed manually on to each token!
If you can behold each day with wonder and treasure each of your friends as I do Juliana, then you'll need one of these for each of you. Add a simple ball chain key chain or necklace to compliment that old-fashioned feeling.
Each silvery token measures about 1-1/4 inch in diameter and features a four-leaf clover in the center, surrounded by the words:

Metal Stamping - Star Flower
There are so many possibilities with these wonderful metal stampings. Each is about 6-1/2 inches long by 1-3/4 inches wide. The stamping can be cut into individual motifs with scissors (if you don't care about the scissors too much), but metal cutters might be a better choice. Or, use the whole length at once. Frame one on a sueded paper backing and it is absolutely stunning! They are also fantastic for your collages and assemblages - to glue on or inlay.
We think these to be made of tin, but they just might be aluminum. Each is hand stamped by artisans who created the designs.

The favorite of collage, assemblage and jewelry artists for some time, optical lenses (originally from an optometrist’s trial lens sets) are great to add focus to any project. Ours are in excellent condition with few (if any) nicks. The rims may be silvery or golden - and many boast a rich patina or aging, adding to their charm and value. Lenses also differ in thickness and may have some frosting and even a number or symbol on the metal or on the lens itself.
Most hail from the early to mid 1900s; some from a bit later. Some of the lenses have small holes in the handle that make them perfect for your jewelry project - add a jump ring or split ring easily.
We know these would be great as an embellishment or gift tag on a special package for an optician, ophthalmologist, optometrist - or anyone working with eyes - and for collectors of vintage optical instruments and implements.

Delightful Handmade Little Paper Roses - All in White

Each gorgeous little bouquet contains 12 hand-made miniature all-white paper roses. No two bouquets are the same because no two roses are the same. These are made with love and care by artisans in Mexico for celebrations such as the Day of the Dead.
How wonderful these are for wedding favors, for a First Communion, or, of course, for an all-white Day of the Dead display.
The tiny stems are wrapped and some even have extra leaves. We have shown several dozen in the picture for illustration only. These are individual roses that may be easily removed from the bouquet by untwisting the stems. Most buds are about 1/2 to 3/4 inch wide.

Dreams have always held many meanings us all, and in particular to Native American Indians. A very old Ojibwa tradition is to hang a dream catcher in each family's lodge. Both good and bad dreams float in the night air. A hanging dream catcher moves catches dreams as they float by.
Sweet dreams know the way to their dreamers and slip through the hole in the center of the swaying dream catcher, then slide down so softly that often the dreamer below doesn't even realize that s/he is dreaming.
Bad dreams are not as wise. They do not know their way to their dreamers, so they become entangled in the dream catcher's web, much like spiders' prey. These nightmares perish with the first light of the dawn.
Most traditional dream catchers are much larger than ours, at 1-1/2” to 2”. Wear one as a necklace just add a strand to protect your daydreams. Certainly, one would make a delightful embellishment to a western-themed project. Or, add one to a card as an extra gift.

Paper Buttons
These paper buttons were quite the rage 10 years ago when we started in business. You don't see them much anymore, but we still love them for a special embellishment. You can actually sew these on your work or glue them if you prefer. Use them for closures for your hand made journals or altered books or more! Each button is 7/8 inch in diameter and tied with a natural cord. Each side is a different color. One side is slightly convex. The other side is subtly contoured.

A 6” x 8” piece of reed paper, produced in Egypt just as it has been for thousands of years. Each sheet has its individual characteristics and colorings as papyrus is made with natural materials. Irregular edges identify this as the real thing!

This is the really neat old-fashioned, original glitter that was used for holiday decorations of all types since the end of the 19th century. You might also recognize it as the snow used in the cinema.
Mix mica with paint, ink, glue, any artistic media. Sprinkle it on your holiday decorations. Grind it. Mix it with a tiny amount of any powdered pigment (including the cost-effective tempera pigment) to give it color. Experiment. Have fun!
This wonderful mica comes packaged in a convenient wide-mouth clear plastic jar. There's a LOT of mica in there!
Mica is not toxic in its natural state, but it can be an irritant, so please use caution.

Vintage Blue-Blue Celluloid Sequins - 5 Gram Package
These enchanting sequins are unused old store stock from the 1920s and 1930s. These are a not quite French blue and they almost make you think they are made of metal. Each of the sequins that measures around 6mm in diameter. We bought a huge amount of all kinds of sequins some time ago and these were loose from the strands. They are perfect for embellishing all kinds of things.
