Silver Metal Stamping - Repoujado Oval in Rectangle Frame
There are so many possibilities with this super silver metal stamping frame. Each one measures 2 inches by 2-3/4 inches with an oval opening for your artwork or photograph. The filigree stampings that surround the oval resemble leafy wings. These lightweight metal stampings can be cut with scissors, but we like them just they way they are. Of course you can turn it around to create an upright frame if you like.
Consider using this as a mat within a frame instead of regular mat board. This is also a nice component for a very special wedding favor or bridal party gift. Each frame is hand stamped and cut by artisans who created the designs.

Olive Krausbouillion - Old Fashioned Crinkle Wire Metal Tinsel

Old-fashioned crinkle wire, just like the tinsel used on antique European holiday ornaments. Use it as is or stretch it out and use it in its crinkly form. Wrap it around your project, bunch it up it up, just play with it. You might even want to use it as a curly tinsel garland for a feather tree!
SilverCrow offers our olive Krausbouillion in generous 1/2-ounce packages. Although silver Krausbouillion is the traditional color used in most older European ornaments, we think that you'll be able to fashion some wonderful newer ornaments with this fun olivine crinkle wire, too!
The original Krausbouillion is made in Germany and Austria. Ours is made by a modernized process that plates copper wire, so it is less expensive. It's quite beautiful and lends old world elegance to any project.

At a carnival in the 1950s, I made one of these wonderful tokens on a very special mechanical device. After thinking for what seemed to be ages of just the right sentiment, I impressed my name. 40 years later, my dear friend, Juliana and I found ourselves high atop a New York City landmark, and behold another of the very special machines!
This time, at Juliana's urging, we each made one just like the one in the illustration above, with the sentiment:
THE WONDER OF IT ALL
These machines are no longer manufactured, but you can find them few and far between at old-time amusement parks and other special places.
We found a wonderful new buddy, Tom, who has a machine of his own and he was kind enough to make these one at a time so we could offer them to SilverCrow's customers. He not only made them one at a time - and each letter had to be selected and then individually impressed manually on to each token!
If you can behold each day with wonder and treasure each of your friends as I do Juliana, then you'll need one of these for each of you. Add a simple ball chain key chain or necklace to compliment that old-fashioned feeling.
Each silvery token measures about 1-1/4 inch in diameter and features a four-leaf clover in the center, surrounded by the words:

Tire Tread
This rubber tire-tread was originally meant to be a bracelet. But we're not sure that is its best use. We found it to make great non-slip feet for assemblages. Just cut some pieces out and glue them to the bottom of your work. Or, you might just like it as a bracelet as well. In any case, these are kind of fun and funky!

Metal Stamping - Star Flower
There are so many possibilities with these wonderful metal stampings. Each is about 6-1/2 inches long by 1-3/4 inches wide. The stamping can be cut into individual motifs with scissors (if you don't care about the scissors too much), but metal cutters might be a better choice. Or, use the whole length at once. Frame one on a sueded paper backing and it is absolutely stunning! They are also fantastic for your collages and assemblages - to glue on or inlay.
We think these to be made of tin, but they just might be aluminum. Each is hand stamped by artisans who created the designs.

These wonderful recycled wine corks hail from around the world with various printing and designs. There are so many great uses for these, and, if you don't drink enough wine yourself, then you'll find these quite useful.

Optometric Lens
More Collage & Assemblage Items
The favorite of collage, assemblage and jewelry artists for some time, optical lenses (originally from an optometrist’s trial lens sets) are great to add focus to any project. Ours are in excellent condition with few (if any) nicks. The rims may be silvery or golden - and many boast a rich patina or aging, adding to their charm and value. Lenses also differ in thickness and may have some frosting and even a number or symbol on the metal or on the lens itself.
Most hail from the early to mid 1900s; some from a bit later. Some of the lenses have small holes in the handle that make them perfect for your jewelry project - add a jump ring or split ring easily.
We know these would be great as an embellishment or gift tag on a special package for an optician, ophthalmologist, optometrist - or anyone working with eyes - and for collectors of vintage optical instruments and implements.

Delightful Handmade Little Paper Roses - All in White

Each gorgeous little bouquet contains 12 hand-made miniature all-white paper roses. No two bouquets are the same because no two roses are the same. These are made with love and care by artisans in Mexico for celebrations such as the Day of the Dead.
How wonderful these are for wedding favors, for a First Communion, or, of course, for an all-white Day of the Dead display.
The tiny stems are wrapped and some even have extra leaves. We have shown several dozen in the picture for illustration only. These are individual roses that may be easily removed from the bouquet by untwisting the stems. Most buds are about 1/2 to 3/4 inch wide.

Mini Clock Cabochon Component
So often our artwork or card making calls for a component representing time, either specifically or in representing time together, forgotten (or remembered) times, or that some moments are timeless.
Our tiny clock face component is a perfect addition for those projects. The numbers are Roman numerals, and the time is set at the classic 12 minutes after 10 (morning or night matters not). The face also bears the inscriptions
QUARTZ
and
Paris
on the face. Of course, it is not a quartz clock and time stands still on the face of it, but for special projects you may find it just the right thing!

Vintage Mexican Button
We're not sure if these buttons are made of brass or bronze or nickel, but we are sure that they all have an older patina (some have been repaired) and would be great for altered books or other assemblages and collages. Miniature Smoking Cigarettes
You don’t want to have to run down to the corner store at 3 in the morning when your Smoking Baby or Smoking Monkey is out of smokes, so keep some of these little cigs handy. These tiny cigarettes are nontoxic, unscented incense wrapped in paper and contain no tobacco. Each measures about 1-3/8 inch long by 1/16 inch wide. Mini Dream Catcher
Dreams have always held many meanings us all, and in particular to Native American Indians. A very old Ojibwa tradition is to hang a dream catcher in each family's lodge. Both good and bad dreams float in the night air. A hanging dream catcher moves catches dreams as they float by.
Sweet dreams know the way to their dreamers and slip through the hole in the center of the swaying dream catcher, then slide down so softly that often the dreamer below doesn't even realize that s/he is dreaming.
Bad dreams are not as wise. They do not know their way to their dreamers, so they become entangled in the dream catcher's web, much like spiders' prey. These nightmares perish with the first light of the dawn.
Most traditional dream catchers are much larger than ours, at 1-1/2” to 2”. Wear one as a necklace on the accompanying suede strand to protect your daydreams. Certainly, one would make a delightful embellishment to a western-themed project. Or, add one to a card as an extra gift.

Papyrus
A 6” x 8” piece of reed paper, produced in Egypt just as it has been for thousands of years. Each sheet has its individual characteristics and colorings as papyrus is made with natural materials. Irregular edges identify this as the real thing!
Be sure to use a reed calame to decorate this for a perfect ancient Egyptian-themed project! Or make a book including several sheets and bind it with bamboo stalks.

Natural Mica
This is the really neat old-fashioned, original glitter that was used for holiday decorations of all types since the end of the 19th century. You might also recognize it as the snow used in the cinema.
Mix mica with paint, ink, glue, any artistic media. Sprinkle it on your holiday decorations. Grind it. Mix it with a tiny amount of any powdered pigment (including the cost-effective tempera pigment) to give it color. Experiment. Have fun!
This wonderful mica comes packaged in a convenient wide-mouth clear plastic jar. There's a LOT of mica in there!
Mica is not toxic in its natural state, but it can be an irritant, so please use caution.

Limited Edition Mah Jong Reproduction Chinese Playing Cards
Mah Jong is a traditional Chinese tile game that originated in the 19th century. Similar to the western card game Rummy, it is played in many variations.
Traditionally played with tiles, Mah Jong can also be played with cards of a similar design, like this set. These Mah Jong cards are reproduced from a Chinese Tile set form the early 1900s.
This rendition of the cards was originally created as a limited edition that is now out of print. We have packaged the cards in sets of 4 that might just be perfect for your artwork or to use as a special decoration on a gift package.
The cards' diminutive size makes them the perfect embellishment for any project, Asian or otherwise. Each of the cards measures 1-3/8 by 3-1/2 inches.
