New German Spun Glass Comet
Victorian Christmas Ornament Kit
If you love vintage German ornaments and would like to make them yourself, then you'll love these brand new spun glass comets. The wheel is 3 inches in diameter and the added tail makes the entire piece 5 inches long. You can spread the tail (or skirt) slightly, but be careful, because the fine fibers may break loose from the glued end.
These pieces are made by hand in a factory in Lauscha, Germany in the same manner they have been made for decades. They are elegantly crafted by highly-skilled artisans in the traditional manner.
Spun Glass is a form of fiberglass, so it can be irritating and is not recommended for children. And, even though these are in excellent shape, because of the age of the pieces, we suggest you be quite careful when using them for crafting. You might choose to use rubber, latex or Nitrile gloves when handling the glass.
These tails are traditionally used when decorating glass ornaments to make birds - these becoming the tail feathers! They are also great as skirts for princesses, Belsnickels and witches.

This brand new silvery crinkle wire is made in a similar manner to the German variety, but is less expensive as it is silver-plated copper. There is a slight spiral look to this wonderful stuff - and it is still stretchable - just like the vintage type and the German-produced gold wire.
We love the zig-zag look to this thicker bullion. Each strand is about 13 inches long. The diameter of our stunning wide golden krausbouillion is around 2.5 mm (not quite 1/8 inch wide). Each strand is individually packaged.

We just love these sprays of tiny mercury glass beads - the older the better! These hail from the 1950s or earlier and show some sign of aging. Each spray measures about 6 inches long. Each stem is comprised of 3 beaded wires with silver foil tips. Then all three have been wrapped together to form a spray of sorts.
Some of the beads are missing, others have aged a bit. We think this a part of their charm. Most of these still have the original Made in Japan tissue tag intact!
You might also choose to dismantle the spray and use the tiny beads to make vintage-style ornaments with authentic vintage pieces. Or, you can separate the 3 pieces in the spray.

Little Vintage Hand Tinted Praying Angel Ornament

Angel lovers and holiday collectors alike will fall in love with this sweet angel with her hand held to her breast in prayer.
Made of hard plastic in the 1970s or 1980s, she was then tinted or painted by hand. You'll be happy to see the variation from angel to angel. Her little wings are pure white, as they should be for any angel. The angels' gowns are a shade of red that has a vintage feel to it. We are quite taken with the subtle shadows of the gown created by the artisans. Her hair is light brown.
What a lovely, simple image she presents. These are vintage ornaments (new old stock that has never been used). We are showing several angels (including one from the back). The tip of her right wing is impressed with the word GERMANY.

Vintage Hard Plastic Half Walnut Shell Ornament Component

These old-fashioned hard plastic walnut shells are the coolest thing ever for making specialty miniature ornaments.
Use the half-shell as is, or glue a fabric tape or other sturdy material (duct tape will even work on the inside floor of the shell and attach another half-shell to make your walnut close.
Each half features a little loop at the top to add a hanging thread or cord. You might choose to snip off the loop and allow the walnut shell to sit the flat base on a table or under your feather tree.
The matte finish helps to make the shell look almost real. These are high quality hard plastic and were made in Germany and should last through generations.
Each measures 1-1/2 inch tall (1-3/4 inch, if you include the loop), 1-1/4 inch side and 1/2 inch deep.

What wonderful memories these wee little mushrooms conjure - magical Christmases, good luck wishes, and, let us not forget the gnomes who must use these for tables and umbrellas!
Made from hard composition material in the mid-20th century, these wee little mushrooms are quite detailed - from the white dots atop their caps to the tiny speckled spores beneath.
These arrive much like flower stamens - there are 2 mushrooms per stem. Each package contains 3 stems, for a total of 6 wee little red topped amanita mushrooms.
The caps measure about 5mm in diameter and from the top of the cap to the point at which the stem of the mushroom meets the wire stem, it measures about 5/8 inch. There will be some variation as these are handmade.
These pretty mushrooms might really be toadstools, not to be eaten in the wild - and, our spun cotton version should not be eaten either! It is rumored that Santa's reindeer pranced around in a flying frenzy after eating these little beauties, allowing them to help Santa travel throughout the world and deliver presents.
Amanita mushrooms are considered good luck in many cultures, especially in Germany. You'll often see them pictured with gnomes, elves and fairies in children's literature.

Each of these plastic ROCKET CYLINDER watch crystals is packaged in a little orange envelope with all kinds of information on it. The number of the crystal as well as the watch brand that it fits are listed along with a little drawing of the crystal inside. As far as we know, everyone of these is different. They are from a watchmaker's estate and were used for fixing broken crystals on watches.
The envelope measures 1-3/4 inch square. The crystals inside depend on the the watch and are all different sizes and shapes.
On the back flap of the envelope is the Rocket Crystal Trademark in an old-fashioned diamond logo:

These adorable chenille bees are not quite vintage - but, they are a lot like the vintage ones. They feature wired tulle wings and fun googly eyes with silvery wired legs. Their bodies are made of alternating black and yellow chenille. You can easily reposition almost everything on them. The wings move apart and the feet are repositionable. They arrive on green floral stems that are twisted together too keep the swarm safe.
Each one measures about 1 inch from front to back and about 1 inch high. Of course, these measurements all change if you re-arrange the wings and more!

This is the real deal! Our old-fashioned crinkle wire is exactly like the tinsel used on antique European holiday ornaments - only it is new. This authentic crinkle wire is made in the same manner as it was years and years ago. There is a slight spiral look to this wonderful wire. But, it is stretchable just like the old-time crinkle wire. We love the zig-zag look to this thicker bullion.

Each of these little bottles resembles a real old fashioned Coca-Cola Bottle - back when they were clear green glass! These plastic versions have a "stem" on the bottom so that you might add them to your cupcakes or other pastries, but we like to break off the bottom and use them for little shrines and ofrendas.

Hand-Made Victorian Ivory Goose Feather Sprig from Sandy Elliott's Christmas Bazaar

These are sprigs made of real goose feathers - the same way they were made in the early days of holiday decorating! Each is handmade from dyed goose feathers. The feathers are applied individually in the same manner as in 19th century Germany.
These were designed and created for Sandy Elliott, who pioneered in recreating vintage Victorian Christmas items for display and for crafting. Alas, her business no longer exists, but we were fortunate enough to be able to obtain some of these wonderful sprigs before she closed. We recently rediscovered them and are proud to offer them to you. These are still made by other manufacturers, but we were quite taken by these.
Each sprig is just about 2 inches long and 1-1/4 inch wide with a 1-1/2 inch stem and is finished with a berry tip. This Victorian Cream sprig sports a matching berry at the tip, just like those of old.
Now you can reproduce all of those wonderful Victorian Ornaments. Let Santa carry one as a miniature tree. Combine some reproduction Christmas Die Cuts with some stretched Krausbouillion and one of these sprigs, sprinkle on some mica (a little glue helps!) and voilà - a Victorian ornament.

Made from bright and clear acrylic, these cool little houses look like Monopoly game houses complete with the little round chimney on top - but you can see through them! What fun! You can put something teeny tiny inside and make something special.
This classic game house is lots of fun and it's easy to drill through them if you want to make a charm or bead from it. Each house measures 1/2 inch by 2/5 inch by 2/5 inch. The house is hollow but sits flat nicely.

Vintage Clear Plastic Bow Component with Open Loops
It never hurts to add a bow to anything. And this vintage plastic bow is no different - in fact, it is better. You can add it to just about anything. Because it is clear, a bit of the color of the underlying object will show through.
It measures 3/4 inch from the outside of one loop to the outside of the other one and just over 1/2 inch from the top of the loop to the ribbon below.
Both loops are open, so you might choose to use this as a charm. The back is flat, so it is also great for gluing.

These cute little dragonflies have been made by quilling strips of paper. The original craft was developed by the indigenous Native American Indians using real porcupine quills. This craft based on the same stylings, but the designs are made from paper.
These were made with a slight adhesive that will allow you to position them in your work, but you might need your own glue to make sure that they really stick.
Each set consists of one green-toned dragonfly and one blue-toned dragonfly. Each measures approximately 2 inches in wingspan and about 1-3/4 inch from head to tail and. They are about 3/16 inch thick.

Vintage Silver Lahnband - Real Metal Ribbon in Silver by the Inch

At one time, the only metallic ribbons you could buy were not simple metallic - they were made of metal! We were absolutely delighted to have found some of this marvelous metal ribbon to offer to you.
Gorgeous slim silver ribbons are woven with white thread in zig-zag pattern to create the final 8mm wide ribbon. We suspect that this ribbon was produced sometime between the 1920s and the 1950s, but it is hard to know for sure. What we do know is that it is nearly impossible to find.
Because of the nature of the metal, you can expect this to tarnish over time unless you keep it tightly sealed. We like the vintage look of the tarnish and welcome the patina to our projects.

This charming little ribbon rosette measures about 1-3/4 inch from long from point to point. Rosettes measure from 3/8 to 1/2 inch in diameter. They can be fluffed or crinkled a bit to satisfy the size you require. This little motif is perfect for lending an air of vintage delicacy to any project.
Each flower is about the same with a pink rose on either side and blue rosette in between. An eggshell white ribbon holds the rosettes in place. These are sewn, not glued, and probably hail from the 1930s or 1940s.

Such lovely old store stock ornament picks are harder and harder to find. So we were absolutely delighted when we found these little bundles of bells. The petite bells are plastic and have been dusted in sugary white glitter and edged with golden metal glitter. Each bell is separately wired with an added sparkly ball for a clapper. Then a dozen of these sweet ornaments have been twisted together into a bunch.
These appear to have been assembled by hand, so please allow for some variation in glittering and twisting!
The bells are about 1/2 inch in diameter at the bottom and about 5/8 inch long. We've added a bit of unraveled crinkle wire for a special extra touch.

The shapes have been laser cut and are easy to remove from the base.

Wood Plaque with bark
Mini Pine Cones
For your rustic projects, this slice of wood is just perfect! Add a few mini pinecones and a vintage holiday scrap picture and you'll have a treasure to behold. You can make this little plaque hangable by adding a screw eye to the top, or by carving or drilling a hole in the back. But, our favorite way to hang it is to staple a piece of leather or felt on the back to create a hanging loop. We saw this technique used on some older ornaments and just love the look!
Each slice is similar to the illustration, but because these are cut from natural wood branches, of course each will differ slightly in the size and the look. We just love the bark around the plaque. The average size is about 5-3/4 inches by 2-1/4 inches by 1/4 inch thick. So please allow for some variation.

One Ounce package of Slide Cover Glass - Rectangles

These 24 mm x 50 mm slivers of glass are really meant for microscopy. After a sample is placed on glass slide, then these covers are used to protect the specimen - and - to protect the microscope lens. They arrive in a nice little protective box. Each slide measures just about 1 inch by 2 inches and is between 0.13 - 0.17 mm thick (size #1). Boxes are measured by weight and this one-ounce package contains between 75 and 100 pieces.
These are really too fragile for jewelry bases, but they're great for collage, assemblage and the like. You can double them up for extra strength, too!

Each card holds 2 yards of 6mm ethereal blue sequins that shimmer with an aurora borealis effect (almost opalesque). The sequins are strung on matching blue thread but can be removed easily.

These enchanting sequins are unused old store stock from the 1920s and 1930s. These are flat sequins that measure 6mm in diameter. We had planned on selling them by the strand, but because these are original bundles, we thought it better to leave them intact for collectors. Warning: In bunches, these have an unpleasant scent. Early plastics like these sequins often contained formaldehyde and other unpleasant additives. Once separated, the scent dissipates and the sequins are in fine condition.

It is so much more fun to make vintage-style Christmas ornaments with real vintage parts. This lovely glass pinecone ornament was made in Germany during the mid-20th century. It shows its age only in a patina that has darkened the white to more of an eggshell color. Covered with glitter, this sweet pinecone measures 3 inches long by 1-1/4 inch at the widest. The cap is silver as is the hanging loop.
Each of these ornaments was hand-blown and then hand finished with frosting and glitter, so there may be a very slight variation from one to the next.
Although elegant itself, it would make a terrific base for adding additional scraps, Dresdens and krausbouillion to make your own very special piece.

Such a sweet little angel - just waiting to be added to your newest project! This angel is made of plastic, but the detail and matte finish belie her content. She measures 2-1/16 inches wide from top wingtip to top wingtip and 1-1/4 inch from the top of the wings to her elbows. She is 1/2 inch deep.
The back is open, but the delicate rim is easy to glue, so you might attach her to any of your spun glass or Dresden bases. Because she is plastic, the component is lightweight.

The Dennison Company from Massachusetts is responsible for so many wonderful vintage items. This poker chip is made of clay and then painted with several layers to indicate value. This particular chip is white and features an inner concentric circle, and within that a four-leaf clover. These illustrations are created in pressed relief - when each chip is created.
These are standard chip size and hail from the early- to mid-20th century.
It would be pretty hard to play poker with only one chip, so we're suggesting that you use this for the base of a brooch or pendant or other collage or altered assembly.

Vintage Spun Glass Angel Wings
We at SilverCrow were lucky to find a source in German for real, vintage spun glass components so that you can create Victorian style ornaments for Christmas, Valentine's Day, or just because you want to make them!
Each wing measures 2 inches long by 1-7/8 inch wide at the widest and 5/16 inch wide at the point.
These pieces were made by hand in a factory in Lauscha, Germany well before World War II. They are certainly elegantly crafted by highly-skilled artisans who were undoubtedly proud to work.
Spun Glass is a form of fiberglass, so it can be irritating and is not recommended for children. And, even though these are in excellent shape, because of the age of the pieces, we suggest you be quite careful when using them for crafting.
These pieces are traditionally used as wings for angels, birds, butterflies and moths. But they may also substitute for the Spun Glass Skirt or Tail.

Vintage box of Teardrop Glass Lenses in Light Smoke Grey
Vintage Round Amber Lenses
Oh! The possibilities for these great lenses. Each box of 3 dozen lenses is from the late 1940s or early 1950s. They were made in Japan originally for use as the lenses for sunglasses. But, they are perfect for use in jewelry and assemblage.
Because they are glass, they are fragile, but they are not delicate - we've not broken any yet. The convex shape is great for covering a secret in an assemblage or collage. These are quite dark as lenses go - but, they are still transparent. After all, they are sunglass lenses.
These dark smoke lenses are 53mm at their widest and 63mm long and they arrive in their original packaging. We have not opened all of the boxes in order to preserver their vintage value, we are not sure if they are complete and unbroken. But, in the sample boxes we opened - all were present, individually wrapped and intact.
At less than 18¢ each, you'll be able to complete several projects with these great glass pieces. They also make great collectibles for anyone in the optical professions!

We love them because they are lightweight and fantastic for making ornaments. We have been able to punch holes in them with an ice pick, but a non-electric hand drill works nicely, too.
If all else fails, bounce one or two in the bathtub for your kitty cat.

Copper Metal Mesh Tubing - 30+ inch Package
Silvery Titanium Mesh Tubing
This really cool component appears to be a ribbon of metal mesh at first glimpse. The fun arrives after you start playing with it. It is really a metal wire-knit tube. Be careful, because it is fragile, but it will hold up well overtime as long as you handle with care.
You can create a necklace by adding crimps on the ends or choker clamps, or use your imagination for finishing.
You can pull and shape this mesh endlessly. It begins with a 6mm flattened diameter. You can open it up and put beads inside and it will stretch as any knit tube would. Of course, as you stretch it wider, the length becomes shorter. You can knot it between beads or even put some of the beads on the outside. What fun you'll have!
If you change your mind, it is easily reshaped by flattening it out again and pulling on either end.
Mesh can be pulled and shaped into interesting forms. Reshaping is accomplished by rolling and pulling the entire strand tight, however, you may affect the overall length of your mesh by pulling on it.
Mesh arrives pre-cut to a 30+ inch length.

Vintage Metallic Paper Milk Bottle Cap
Milk bottle caps are great because of their size, age and their printing. Fun for collecting and creating - they are especially wonderful because they are lightweight metal and you can do just about anything with them for crafting and altered artwork!
Each one measures 2 inches in diameter not including the lip edge which varies in size. These were all from pasteurized and homogenized milk from the Meadow Gold Dairies in Pittsburgh, PA. They range in color from pale orange to deep red.
If you choose to use this for altered art, you might even punch images from a cap for a very unique look.

Pink Feather Tree
Old-fashioned spun cotton mushrooms have graced Christmas trees, corsages and other items for decades. These lovely amanita mushrooms are created of spun cotton and made by the same family business that made the vintage red and brown mushrooms we offer. The company has really gone out of business, but agreed to make some of these gorgeous pink mushrooms especially for the American trade.
These new stock mushrooms measure about 3/4 inch from the bottom of the stem to the top of the cap and could very easily pass for the vintage ones as the technique is exactly the same.
The pink caps are hand stained to look real (if there really are pink mushrooms, that is). They are are highly lacquered and are dotted with little white spots - just like the real mushrooms! The stems are wire wrapped in light green paper.
Maybe the Easter Bunny had his eye on these, too! Why else would he start passing out eggs?
We love them for St Valentine's Day projects. Wouldn't they be stunning on a Pink Feather Tree?

This is the real deal! Our old-fashioned crinkle wire is exactly like the tinsel used on antique European holiday ornaments - only it is new. This authentic crinkle wire is made in the same manner as it was years and years ago. There is a very slight spiral look to this wonderful wire. But, it is stretchable just like the old-time crinkle wire. It seems a bit more buoyant than our other wires.

We have always been celluloid and plastic fans here at SilverCrow. There are ever so many possibilities. Especially fun are the flat-backed cabochons like this wonderful starburst! The ivory color is wonderful for winter wonderland or even religious scenes. It measures about 27mm wide and high, so you might even consider it for assemblage jewelry.

Vintage Ivy Wax Motif
Vintage motifs like these were used to decorate candles, papier mâché eggs and ornaments and even crèches and the like. These are still on the original aged waxed paper and are in superb shape. There may be a small amount of breakage, but because they are wax, they are easily positioned back in place.
We can envision all types of uses for these, but most of all, we love them because they are so old, hailing from pre-World War II Germany. Each motif measures approximately 9-1/4 by 3-1/2 inches and may be trimmed for use.
Please be careful with these as they are extremely delicate, but still very usable!

Our lovely blackbirds are made of celluloid (aka cellulose) and feature a flat back for gluing onto your projects. Add a jump ring between their beaks and add a chain. They are a wonderful jet black opaque and are nicely detailed to accentuate their wings, tail feathers and faces. Because they are made of plastic, you can easily drill through them to attach other adornments.
These crows or ravens measure about 3 inches by 1-1/2 inch, so they'll make a substantial statement! They hail from the mid-20th century (around the 1950s or 1960s).

Silver Alloy Double Headpins (or Stamens) - WOW!
Just wait till you start playing with these. For the jeweler or milliner or artist of any kind, we think you'll be amazed with these double-headed headpins. Use them to twist around beads to form a cage. They also make a very special stamen in hand-made flowers.
You might even fold the pin in half and slide the loop through your stone, bead or charm and the ends through the loop. The possibilities only end with your imagination.
Although these are new, they are truly old-school, having been used in jewelry making earlier in the 20th century.
Measuring 60mm, this fine gauge (1mm) silver alloy wire is flexible, but very sturdy. The ball heads (not flat) are hand-formed.

Vintage Optometric Lens

The favorite of collage, assemblage and jewelry artists for some time, optical lenses (originally from an optometrist’s trial lens sets) are great to add focus to any project. Ours are in excellent condition with few (if any) nicks. The rims may be silvery or golden - and many boast a rich patina or aging, adding to their charm and value. Lenses also differ in thickness and may have some frosting and even a number or symbol on the metal or on the lens itself.
Most hail from the early to mid 1900s; some from a bit later. Some of the lenses have small holes in the handle that make them perfect for your jewelry project - add a jump ring or split ring easily.
We know these would be great as an embellishment or gift tag on a special package for an optician, ophthalmologist, optometrist - or anyone working with eyes - and for collectors of vintage optical instruments and implements.

Metal Stamping - Star Flower
There are so many possibilities with these wonderful metal stampings. Each is about 6-1/2 inches long by 1-3/4 inches wide. The stamping can be cut into individual motifs with scissors (if you don't care about the scissors too much), but metal cutters might be a better choice. Or, use the whole length at once. Frame one on a sueded paper backing and it is absolutely stunning! They are also fantastic for your collages and assemblages - to glue on or inlay.
We think these to be made of tin, but they just might be aluminum. Each is hand stamped by artisans who created the designs.

At a carnival in the 1950s, I made one of these wonderful tokens on a very special mechanical device. After thinking for what seemed to be ages of just the right sentiment, I impressed my name. 40 years later, my dear friend, Juliana and I found ourselves high atop a New York City landmark, and behold another of the very special machines!
This time, at Juliana's urging, we each made one just like the one in the illustration above, with the sentiment:

These machines are no longer manufactured, but you can find them few and far between at old-time amusement parks and other special places.
We found a wonderful new buddy, Tom, who has a machine of his own and he was kind enough to make these one at a time so we could offer them to SilverCrow's customers. He not only made them one at a time - and each letter had to be selected and then individually impressed manually on to each token!
If you can behold each day with wonder and treasure each of your friends as I do Juliana, then you'll need one of these for each of you. Add a simple ball chain key chain or necklace to compliment that old-fashioned feeling.

This very special crepe streamer was created by the Dennison Company, the maker of so many wonderful crafting products beginning over a century ago. We found so very little of it, but thought it might be just what you need to create your old timey ornaments, candy cones and the like. So, we're offering this by the inch.
It is hard to imagine the original color of the streamer, although it appears to be a beige tone. There are two metallic silver stripes running the length of the roll and the edges are scalloped, so you can imagine just how wonderful an ornament, badge or flower you might be able to fashion from it.
Each piece will be cut to order until it is gone.

They are in tremendously good condition. They were made by hand years ago, with the precision of an artist. The stems, or filaments are made of thread that has been stiffened either by water and twisting or with wax. The anthers (tips) are made of different materials that have become to be known as composition.

There are so many possibilities with this super silver metal stamping frame. Each one measures 2 inches by 2-3/4 inches with an oval opening for your artwork or photograph. Vintage Golden Metallic Spiral Wire by the Inch
Treasured family Christmas ornaments have become sought after heirlooms - even for those who might not have had any as children. They are quite rare because of their fragility and ephemeral quality. Many were made for the fashion of the time, never expected to last over 100 years.
Even more treasured are the vintage and antique components from which the ornaments were made. We are so fortunate to have found this wonderful example of such a component - and such a unique one at that.
Our golden spiral wire is created from a tough tread that has been covered with woven metallic fibers and then formed into a spiral. The metallic fibre creates a wire-like structure that allows for some give in the spiral. This truly special piece might also be used for passementerie and other projects requiring metal fibers.
It offers a nice patina, showing its age. We gauge this spiral to hail from the 1920s or 1930s. Indeed, it just might be older than that.
The base thread allows you to manipulate this into circles around ornaments, boxes, appliqués and more. It is quite a treasure.
The woven metallic is about 1mm in diameter. The spiraled piece is 9mm or just under 3/8 inch wide.
The spiral is sold by the inch. Your selection will arrive all in one piece, which can be cut with scissors. However, it cannot be re-pieced easily without gluing or sewing, so please measure carefully for your project.
The wire is tightly coiled, so you get a lot in 1 inch!

It adds a touch of elegant whimsy to any display - especially when there are electric lights. The soft glow of the cloud-like hair enhances any lights - either white or color.
Still handmade in the traditional manner by a family company, each bag contains 15 grams of non-inflammable super-fine spun glass fibers. Although such spun glass hair is available from other sources, the German spun glass angel hair is truly curly hair. It does not compress easily and will stay curly. Use it as you would tinsel for special effects.

These lovely vintage amanita mushrooms were created of spun cotton back in the mid-20th century and are in wonderful condition. These old store stock beauties measure almost 14mm inch from the bottom of the stem to the top of the cap.
The red caps are hand stained to look real. They are are highly lacquered and are dotted with little white spots - just like the real mushrooms! The stems are wire wrapped in green paper.

This wonderful heavy-weight black Dresden base is just what you need to create old-fashioned paper ornaments for Hallowe'en, a Black-and-White Masquerade Ball or any other occasion. Add a little scrap picture with a dab of glue to the center (or even a Victorian-style sticker), maybe a few pieces of angel hair or krausbouillion and you'll create a brand new heirloom!

Vintage Brass Mesh Bow
We just fell in love with this little vintage bow when we saw it! Doesn't it look like the perfect bow tie for a lovely little doll? Or a wonderful addition to assemblage earrings or a necklace?

Amanita mushrooms have long been associated with fairies and elves and even Christmas. After all, Santa has hired elves for Christmas work forever! The little red mushroom caps dotted with white give a magical feel to any project.

Our rare tinsel stars are from Germany and were made around Nuremburg before World War II. Each star is made of tinsel that is just a bit crinkled for fullness. This crinkle also creates the most beautiful shimmer when holiday lights reflect. These are old store stock and are in superb condition.
Each 6 cm ornament is packaged in a protective plastic box and may need a little fluffing for fullness. Or, you might want to flatten one and add a vintage die cut scrap for a special ornament. There is a self hanger for your convenience.

Handmade of silken fabric, this grouping of three (two small and one large) are on stems about 5 inches high. The largest mushroom cap measures 1-1/2 inch in diameter and is about 5/8 inch thick. The two smaller ones measure 1 inch in diameter and about 1/2 inch high.
These are wonderfully made with the variegations in the fabric mimicking the real mushrooms that they imitate. There is an alligator clip at the bottom for attaching to your project.
These were originally made for the millinery trade, but we think they have so very many other uses.

Extremely Rare Antique Small Santa Face Scraps from L&B - Package of 18
More Vintage Scraps & and Die Cuts
These old German scraps were produced by Littauer & Boysen (L&B), who stopped making scraps in 1920. We're not sure of their exact printing date, but we do know they are almost 100 years old - at least!
This set of 18 Santa faces features several different images. Some appear to be the same, but at closer inspection, you'll see slight variation. Each head is a bit different, but the average size appears to be about 5/8 inch wide by 1-3/16 high.
You'll find the quality of the images to be superlative. The paper weight is a bit thicker than the reproduction scraps made today. The die-cutting is so finely executed that you can almost tear these apart, but we suggest that you trim them with delicate scissors (such as scherenschnitte scissors). The detailed embossing is amazing as well.

Vintage Broken Frozen Charlotta (Charlotte) Doll

Each of these tremendous little dolls is more interesting than the next. We had a hard time working once these arrived. We had to examine each and every one of them. They are called Frozen Charlotte Dolls or Frozen Charlotta Dolls. They were made in Germany
They appear to have have been manufactured as far back as the early 1850s. Their history is quite intriguing, as is their allure. Some are bisque, but most are made of glazed porcelain. They were known in Germany as Bathing Children (Badekinder) or Naked Babies (Nackfrosh).
Charlottes were named after a young Victorian girl who went out dancing with her beau. Against Mother's advice, she left without her coat and froze in the snow. This is the story of an old folksong called Fair Charlotte often attributed to William Lorenzo Carter.
The dolls were made from the 1850s through the early 20th century and sold for about a penny each in the United States. Children would dress them and were able to collect a few because of the nice price. In fact they were often called penny dolls.
Ours have been dug up in Germany near the original factories. All of our are missing an arm or a leg or feet, etc. We think the damage endears them even more. We have not cleaned them, so you can enjoy discovering the unique beauty of your own doll. Just use a mild soap gently with water.
If whole, these lovelies might sell for $125 to $300 each. They measure from just under 2 inches to just over 3 inches high. If you have a specific request, we'll try to honor it. However, these are vintage and we only have a limited grouping.
Several of the dolls are in our illustration, but we do have more than the pictured ones.

These enchanting sequins are unused old store stock from the 1920s and 1930s. These are flat sequins that measure 6mm in diameter. We had planned on selling them by the strand, but because these are original bundles, we thought it better to leave them intact for collectors.

This is probably from the late 1950s or early 1960s. There is a top hole if you care to attach a jump ring for hanging, or just use the opening in the heart itself. Vintage Happee - Merree Christmas Pack - Seals & Tags in Original Package

This delightful and wonderful envelope is filled with Christmas delights. The original envelope contains gummed Christmas seals - the kind that are water-activated. Due to their age, we suggest you test the gummed seals before wetting them - or, to be safe, use an additional adhesive of your own. Of course, when this package was originally available - in 1944, you'd probably lick them. There are also gift tags for your presents.
The outer envelope was to be sealed in the same manner, by water-activated adhesive, but it has loosened on some of the packages and the contents are easily removed. Everything inside is intact - these have never been opened - except for the set we photographed, and that one, we're keeping for ourselves!
These were originally issued by Fred Fear & Company, listed as the packers on the back of the cover envelope. Fred Fear & Co. was originally a manufacturer and distributor of maple syrup, Easter egg coloring and the like. Their factories were located throughout the northeast United States. This package originates in Brooklyn, N.Y. and indicates that they were made in U.S.A. (The periods in the abbreviations mark their age, too.)
The graphics are typical of the 1940s and many of the stickers feature captions, such as:
Christmas Cheer Open DEC.25th. Holiday Greetings Merry Xmas
and more. The text fonts, colors and illustrations are charming and make you want to go back in time.
This package originally sold for 10¢ in 1944 - probably in a five and dime store. Each package contains 80 seals and 20 tags. The outer envelope measures 5-5/8 by 5-1/2 inches. These are in wonderful condition.

Vintage Dennison Crepe Paper Streamer: Seasons Greetings
What glorious vintage crepe paper - all original old stock, not used~! This crepe roll was produced by the Dennison company, well known for their home arts papers and other supplies for decades. Dennison has since merged with Avery office products to become Avery Dennison. So new quality Dennison craft and art products are no longer available.
You'll be charmed by the pretty pink Seasons Greetings with a border and some holly and bells. We love the great pink color of the text, too! The streamers are flameproof (an important improvement that the Dennison Manufacturing Company (of Framingham, Massachusetts) made. This new, old stock (never used) streamer is the greatest for decorating or for you craft projects!
The rolls do not indicate the length, but we're guessing that the roll is 25-30 feet, as most of the streamers made were those approximate lengths.

We have long been enchanted by scraps and die cuts. Our large Krampus Devil -carries his switch for punishment as well as his pitchfork and chain. This mid-20th century die cut is superbly printed and trimmed. The colors, especially of the fire beneath his hooves is beautifully done.
This medium Krampus Devil die cut scrap is lightly embossed and measures just about 4-3/4 inches high by 1-1/2 inch wide.

Vintage Red Clay Poker Chip
The Dennison Company from Massachusetts is responsible for so many wonderful vintage items. This poker chip is made of clay and then painted with several layers to indicate value. This particular chip is red and features an inner concentric circle, and within that a four-leaf clover. These illustrations are created in pressed relief - when each chip is created.

Mirrored Plexiglas Motif - The King Himself - Elvis Presley
More Elvis
Several years ago, I found a wonderful plastic store in New York City. There were bins full of these motifs that were made for people who never picked them up for some reason. After digging through them for just the perfect ones for a special project, I found a very few of these mirrored Plexiglas silhouettes of Elvis in full bravado singing mode - microphone and all.
Some may have minor scratches, but they are all in great shape. We only have as many as they had that day, so we can't get any more. The King measures 2-1/2 inches tall by 2 inches wide (at his feet). He is flat on both sides, but only the front is mirrored. He is about 3mm thick.

There are so many possibilities with these wonderful metal stampings. The entire piece measures about 3 inches wide by 2 inches high - each of the images measures 3/4 inch in diameter inch. The stamping can be trimmed with scissors (if you don't care about the scissors too much), but metal cutters might be a better choice. Or, use the entire piece. They are also fantastic for your collages and assemblages - to glue on or inlay. We think these to be made of tin, but they just might be aluminum.

Vintage Green Glass Beaded Headpin
We can't really call it a trend, because designers have been doing it for years - adapting vintage jewelry into newer items - but now there is a new name for it: upcycling! These vintage glass tipped pins were made in Japan, well known for quality costume jewelry components. But we love the older ones even more. The green glass bead tip measures 8mm in diameter. The actual metal pin is a dark aged metal, measuring about 3/4 inch long.

Ivory Millinery Flower Stamens
Flower stamens are not just for flowers anymore. They make great embellishments for all types of artwork and collage jewelry. This little bundle includes 144 ivory tips - each of the 72 stems boasts two tips. From ivory tip to ivory tip, one piece measures about 2-1/4 inches. Tips are just over 1 mm wide by about 3 mm long.
These are not quite as shiny as they appear in the illustration.

Vintage Jingle Bells on Original Card!
How fun are these! There are 5 jingle bells attached to the original cards (most likely from the 1950s). There is a copyright symbol (©) but it doesn't indicate a year. The card reads:

The bells are attached through punched holes and and are held on to the card by a thin piece of wire that is threaded through each bell on the back. Each bell measures about 1 centimeter. We have packaged these in an old-timey real cellophane bag to protect the packaging.

Vintage Green Crepe Paper Flameproof Streamer
We love crepe paper - and not just for streamers. Make bows and flowers, cover nut cups, make ornaments. The possibilities are endless.
And, on top of that, this is VINTAGE crepe. This is just what you need for making reproduction Christmas ornaments. Using the real vintage stuff makes them look and feel authentic. This crepe roll was produced by the Dennison company, well known for their home arts papers and other supplies for decades. Dennison has since merged with Avery office products to become Avery Dennison. So new quality Dennison craft and art products are no longer available.
The Dennison Flameproof Steamer sticker remains on each roll, but is a little loose on some of the rolls we have in stock. There is some modest wear and a touch of fading (from storage) on the outside of the roll, but that makes it even more appropriate for your vintage projects!
These 35-foot rolls originally sold for 15¢. That and the label suggest that the rolls are from the mid-20th century.

Made by the famous Dennison Company, each packet contains 35 seals - all poinsettias.
The vibrant colors are reminiscent of the old die cut chromolithographs. These are truly special and in excellent condition.

Delightful Handmade Little Paper Roses - All in White

Each gorgeous little bouquet contains 12 hand-made miniature all-white paper roses. No two bouquets are the same because no two roses are the same. These are made with love and care by artisans in Mexico for celebrations such as the Day of the Dead.
How wonderful these are for wedding favors, for a First Communion, or, of course, for an all-white Day of the Dead display.
The tiny stems are wrapped and some even have extra leaves. We have shown several dozen in the picture for illustration only. These are individual roses that may be easily removed from the bouquet by untwisting the stems. Most buds are about 1/2 to 3/4 inch wide.

These 18 mm x 18mm slivers of glass are really meant for microscopy. After a sample is placed on glass slide, then these covers are used to protect the specimen - and - to protect the microscope lens. They arrive in a nice little protective box. Vintage Hard Plastic Cherries Cabochon
Aren't these just the sweetest cherries - too bad they can't be eaten. Our little plastic components are flat-backed. They have been hand painted in a washed style which highlights the the detail of the leaves, stem and the cherries themselves.
Each one measures 11/16 inch from the bottom cherry to the top of the stem and 3/4 inch at the widest point.

Vintage French Sequins in Seafoam
These enchanting sequins are unused old store stock from the 1920s and 1930s. These are flat sequins that measure 5mm in diameter. We had planned on selling them by the strand, but because these are original bundles, we thought it better to leave them intact for collectors.
