His special lacquer formula improved the quality of seals in adhesion and neatness, helping him to become famous throughout the kingdom. Crayon Pencils - NO More Waxy Build-up!
This exciting new medium is an excellent way for children (or adults, of course!) to spend hours coloring. There is no waxy flaking with these Smart Art crayon pencils - colors lay down more smoothly and the result is much brighter than with regular crayons or pastels. The novice artist, be s/he young or old, will more easily be able to layer and combine colors. The pencil crayons are very long-lasting pencils, making them a great value as well. They work much like grease-pencils or china markers of old, just unwrap the paper from the crayon by pulling the string. Because they are non-toxic, even little kids can color with them!

Penmanship Made Easy (Unabridged Reprint)
More Books
Geroge Bickham was an enterprising 18th century engraver and calligrapher who promoted the practice of proper penmanship. This volume, an unabridged reprint of his now extremely rare calligraphy manual, provided young practitioners with much valuable information on how to write not only legibly but also with beauty and grace.
The book begins with "Directions for Learners," a series of helpful hints on forming letters, holding the pen, arm and wrist positions, proper posture, etc. The book is filled with a wealth of incredibly beautiful calligraphic specimens: alphabets, maxims, didactic verses and other words of advice for elevating the moral standards of the young. Beware, however, that this was originally produced around 1733, so some items may be considered politically incorrect today.
This trade paperback measures 5-3/8 by 8 inches with 64 pages of mostly illustrations.

Box of 50 Non-Sharpening Glitter Pencils
We first discovered non-sharpening pencils about 20 years ago when a relative was in the hospital! All is well now, and our great discovery is no less wonderful today. There is no need for a pencil case with a non-sharpening pencil - with eraser, as well! When the pencil point dulls, you simply pull the plastic nib out, push it into the top of the pencil (under the eraser) and a new, sharp, ready to use pencil lead pushes through to the bottom. There are 11 leads in each pencil.
The hospital staff was so enamored by our pencils, that we soon came to realize what a great thank-you gift they are for an office group! So, in lieu of a box of candy, try a box of pencils for your next gift of gratitude.
This set of pencils is glittery: pink, purple, blue, green and yellow pencils have matching erasers.

Package of 3 Vintage Pen Nibs
Our vintage stationery pen nibs are meant to be used as inserts into older pen shafts. Most of these are for writing - love letters, testimonials, official documents, etc. They are not calligraphy nibs per se - however a master calligrapher may enjoy some of them for special flourishes and the like.
Because of the their aged patina, they will also combine nicely in niches of altered books (consider the authors writing by candlelight!) or in assemblages, or in a small pin dish on your desk - for inspiration.

Calame Reed Pen
The first fiber tip pens were made in Egypt as far back as 500 BC! Made from various reeds (these are bamboo), calames find their roots in reed brushes that were pounded or chewed into shape.
As writing developed, the reeds were split and made into pens. Writing fluid is held in the hollowed out shaft of the reed and flows down through the chiseled or pointed tip, or nib.
Now you can create your own old-world documents with a bamboo reed or pen and SilverCrow's papyrus! You may even want to buy one as a model to carve your own calame from our bamboo stalks.
And, just imagine what a great show and tell this would be for grade school, art school or with friends of all ages!

Authentic Quill Dip Pen
SilverCrow's authentic goose quill is produced in the same manner that quills have been made for centuries. It is hand pointed and holds an amazingly long line of ink. It's not surprising that such quills were the choice of great writers for years!
We were particularly delighted to find these quills. We've seen feathers with metal nibs attached to the tips - functional, but much more modern.
We thought these just the instrument for you to use in reenactments, medieval fairs, etc. Imagine witting with a natural quill on traditional vellum or parchment!

Walnut Drawing Stick
Tom Norton designed this pen especially for use with his Walnut Drawing Ink.

The Walnut Drawing Stick is a finely crafted instrument.
