Little Tin Swinger
More Little People
More Ornaments
More Charms
More Summer
Our Little Tin Swinger was made as a part of a wind-up toy, but is s/he ever versatile. With a few simple tools and a few bends and twists and a cut, you might change this into a charm or pendant. Or leave it as is and let these little folks hang from your feather tree! Or, make your own toy!
Each person measures about 3/4 inch wide by 1-1/4 inch high and about 3/8 inch deep. The pin measures not quite 2-3/8 inches from the seat to the loop at the top.
These would be fantastic as a part of a mixed media or altered art project. Please let us choose one randomly for you.

Vacation Countdown!
More Beach & the Sea
What a fun way to keep track of the number of days till vacation. Start counting a month ahead with this clever little dial at the bottom. Hang it in your office, on your cubicle wall or even on your fridge - and just turn the dial daily to count down those days till you reach the beach (or your other dream spot).
The great old time picture of a bunch of friends at the beach having a great time reads:
You think we're obnoxious now, just wait until we're on vacation!
And, with the dial (xxx) in the middle, the rest reads:
We leave in xxx days!
Of course, you'd replace that obnoxious xxx with the number of days!

Mmmm, these juicy delicious strawberries are for wearing not for eating! Hand-painted metal pins like these were all the rage in the mid-20th Century and are still fun today.

Limbo Rock Party Time Charm
More Music
First you spread your limbo feet, dance to the limbo beat, bend you limbo back - well, if you can't do the limbo, at least you can pretend that you once did with this cute charm. Two festive fellows are holding the limbo stick and a young woman is ready to try to go under it!
This fun charm is double sided - so you can see the front and that back of the dance. (That's why we're showing two charms!)
Recorded by the Champs and then by Chubby Checker (who made it famous), the Limbo Rock was a fun dance that crossed generational boundaries in 1962 and is still danced at many summer parties by little kids, tweens, teens and adults alike.
This silvery charm measures not quite 15/16 inch wide by by 5/8 inch wide.

Art Postcard - Imaginary Vacation
More Travel & Journeys
Mrs. Johnson has her imaginary map; Mr. Johnson has his imaginary car and Junior is ready for the imaginary lake with his delightful sailboat. What a kick we got from this vintage-style postcard, re-engineered by the more than talented Ken Brown! Our last few vacations have been just as imaginary, so let's hope we have as much fun on our next one - at least as much fun as the Johnsons seem to be having!

Vintage Enamel Baseball Pin (New Old Stock)
More Toys & Games
We were lucky to find a whole bunch of these cabochon pins as new old stock - never used - in a Brooklyn, New York warehouse. They are cleverly made and are in pretty nice shape considering that they were meant only to be novelties - and they are still around! There is slight wear from handling, but that's about it.
It appears that the cabs are made of metal and that the cabochon is white enamel and the stitching image has been transferred onto the cabochon either by printing or some other method.
We make a point of not cleaning vintage items - just in case! We wouldn't want to ruin the value.
If you care to do so, you might re-work these into assemblage pieces by removing the cabochon and applying a new image, or, indeed by replacing it with something else. Please be careful if you choose to remove the cabochon - especially if you are bending the prongs.
These were made by a novelty company - not a jewelry company - so please be careful when working with them.
Each measures 15/16 inch in diameter and has a self-pin on back that has been attached mechanically rather than by adhesive. So, for novelties, these are pretty well made.
These pins are from the 1950s and 1960s and were meant for sale in 5 and 10 cent stores such as Murphy's, Ben Franklin and Woolworths. We love them for embellishment and just for the memories (of the future)! One of these would make a swell gift package decoration, too!

Large Vintage Kitschy Wooden Sunshiny Orange Charm
More Wood
More Charms - Old & New
These wooden oranges are so cool - or hot! They are from the 1960s or 1970s and were used for making all kinds of accessories. We think they'd be great as pendants, charms or earrings. These are all hand-painted, so the images might be slightly different as you can see in the illustration.
Hang one from your rear-view mirror (if it's legal in your state) for a fun summer feeling in your car.
Made of wood and lacquered to a shine, each charm measures about 2 inches in diameter. There is a little metal loop at top for hanging.

More Summer & Vacationing
Advertised as the finest travel trailer built, this aluminum trailer featured fully functioning appliances and more. Classically associated with travel on the famous Route 66, such trailers were the top of the line travel accommodations for those on the road! They were most popular in the 1950s and 1960s but are still the rage, with lots of folks restoring them to their original state and others modernizing them for the road today.
This fun family shot was taken in El Monte, California in the 1950s.

Old-Fashioned Plastic Fold-Out Fan Featuring the Saints
More Victorian
More Shrine Supplies
More Unique Adornments
Perfect for a warm day in church, young and old alike can create a comforting breeze with this old-fashioned plastic filigree fan. Originally, fans like these were made from ivory and carved by hand and the images were hand painted. We can't offer any of those as ivory harvesting is outlawed and hand painted images are too dear. However, we think this plastic replica is quite charming.
Each fan features nine individual panels held together by a pin at the bottom and a ribbon at the top. When it is open, it measures 10-1/2 by 6-1/2 inches. There is a random assortment of saints and other holy pictures, such as the Sacred Heart and the Blessed Mother - all in full color at the top.

Kite-Shaped Nicho
More Nichos
Our Kite Nicho is quite different from all of our others. It has a more modern shape and feeling than many of the traditional nichos. The kite is made with the same attention to detail and with the age-old tradition of tinsmithing in Mexico.
We were particularly enamored with the crescent concha design debossed into the the top of the nicho. Especially appropriate for summer memories, we know you'll be as charmed as we are!
The glass niche door closes with the traditional spiral slide fashioned of tin.

Vintage Package of Peach Seals
More Vintage Stickers & Seals
Originally issued back in the mid-20th century for 15¢ a package, these authentically old gummed (water-activated) stickers are as vibrantly colored - probably chromolithographed die-cuts. We are always delighted to find these vintage items for you!
Due to their age, we suggest you test the gummed seals before wetting them - or, to be safe, use an additional adhesive of your own.
Made by the famous Dennison Company, each packet contains 20 seals - all peaches.
The vibrant colors are reminiscent of the old die cut chromolithographs. These are truly special and in great condition. Some of the packages have been stapled together. We did not disturb or open the packs for an official count - we like to provided them to you as we originally receive them. So, there may be a few missing from some of the packs, but we don't think so.
Each package has been stamped on the back with:
REMER'S OFFICE SUPPLY 29207 Gratiot 1 Blk. No. of 12 Mile Roseville, Mich. 48066 Phone 778-3446
These are old store stock and would make a fun addition to a summer picnic invitation.

Olive Krausbouillion - Old Fashioned Crinkle Wire Metal Tinsel
More Krausbouillion, Crinkle Wire & Other Tinsel
Old-fashioned crinkle wire, just like the tinsel used on antique European holiday ornaments. Use it as is or stretch it out and use it in its crinkly form. Wrap it around your project, bunch it up it up, just play with it. You might even want to use it as a curly tinsel garland for a feather tree!
SilverCrow offers our olive Krausbouillion in generous 1/2-ounce packages. Although silver Krausbouillion is the traditional color used in most older European ornaments, we think that you'll be able to fashion some wonderful newer ornaments with this fun olivine crinkle wire, too!
The original Krausbouillion is made in Germany and Austria. Ours is made by a modernized process that plates copper wire, so it is less expensive. It's quite beautiful and lends old world elegance to any project.
