What a fun wind-up alarm clock! WE love the retro-modern look - the triangle shape with the little triangle loop at the top is reminiscent of the 1950s modern style - a time when the future was an exciting dream.
Retro is so popular because we're already living the future and many of the things we only dreamed of are already here - so now we daydream of the past.
Our wonderful retr0style clock features a sexy lady sitting on the hood of a gorgeous convertible. The clock's hands appear to be oh-so-modern glow-in-the-dark, but we can't be sure. The clock measures 6 inches wide and about 4-1/2 inches high - and if you lift the little top triangle, the height is 5-1/2 inches.
This is a wind-up clock with an bell alarm, with a volume adjustment.

Leaf-Shaped Bowl made of Recycled Paper

Adapting necessity to art, traditional basket-making techniques are used to make these wonderful little pots or bowls. Artisans use recycled posters from printing companies. First they make long flat strips of paper, dipped in glue - then dried. Then, after the strips dry, the artisans wet them again form them into useable shapes, like this little bowl with a lid. It is all held together with the glue as the strips are coiled. Sturdy household items are the result.
The brightly colored random patterns are derived from the shapes and the contents of the posters used, so you may see some printed words on yours, too.
We were particularly enchanted with the leaf-shape of this clever bowl. It is great in any room - even on your desk. It measures about 5-1/2 by 2-1/4 inches.
Each bowl is different, not only because it is handmade, but, because the paper strips are never the same from item to item. So, please let SilverCrow choose one for you.

We grew up with matchboxes like these available for the card tables during our mothers' bridge parties. Some of the ladies smoked, but each of them received such matches as a party favor - for candles if they were smoke-free!
Each month the bridge players met at a different home. How we looked forward to such lovely social events. My mother made such boxes and allowed me to help, when I was such a little girl. Hopefully these will bring back the same memories for you - or, allow you to create a new tradition.

We just love these vintage coasters. Sure, they are still made today, but there is just something special about the older ones. We're not quite sure of the year these were created, but the image is printed and nicely debossed in brown. The scalloped edge matches the printed scallop border.

The paper has aged some but is in good condition considering that this was an item that was generally discarded. They are made of paper and something like waxed paper to protect the furniture.

Traditional Mexican tinsmiths and artists combined their talents to deliver this striking folk art mirror. Made in a combination of styles and media, this wonderful piece will bring the feeling of Mexico and the images of the Saints right into your home.
Many of the images are découpaged onto a traditional nicho frame and then accented by hand painting. Atop the flame of the Sacred Heart is Anima Sola (the lonely soul) reaching on high from the fires of purgatory. A mirror has been added from the back. You can replace this if you like with an image of your own.
There is a hanging hook at the base of the flame and the top of the piece is reinforced for stability. The entire piece measures approximately 13 inches by 7 inches.
This very special piece has been created by traditional tin artisans in Mexico and hand crafted and painted there as well. So please allow for variation in the placement of the Saints and in the hand painted accents.

Small Burl Display Pedestal
Originally produced as netsuke stands, these sweet little burl wood display pedestals are expertly formed from natural wood. Burls are actually growth abnormalities (aka knots) gone right. A small burl was selected and carved, sanded and polished to make this our stand. It measures about 2 inches in diameter and stands about 4/5 inch high.
We love these as additions to shrines, memory boxes and shadow boxes. They also make perfect little end tables for dollhouses!

We love this timer - not just for its whimsical (and award-winning) design, but because it is both visual and audible. How often we've know that the timer was about to ring - but is it in 5 minutes, 10 minutes, 20? After getting up to check over and over again, we were delighted to find this great Tape Timer. Now we can just look up and tell, at least relatively, how much time is left!
It tracks minutes and seconds. To start it, simply pull up on the ring, adjust to the desired time and the tape automatically retracts as the seconds tick by. A loud ring indicates that time is up. It's made of aluminum and plastic and doesn't require batteries.

This gorgeous shelf mounts easily on a wall (but it's heavy so mount it well!) From bottom to top it measures 33 inches. It is 17 inches wide. Each of the 2 shelves is 14 inches deep. An indentation on the top shelf allows you to place something that needs stabilization without, such as a dish or other display item. The cross on top is removable, but we think it gorgeous as is.
The shelf is in original condition - without refinishing. The patina is superb. There are some minor blemishes from normal usage. The shelf is from a 1913 Lutheran Church in Donora, Pennsylvania. We have seen similar shelves sell for over $600.00.

Vintage Blotter Tray Cover - Iroquois Indian Beer
In the 1950s this Iroquois Beer Coaster was used to cover a metal beer tray in a tavern. It is made of heavy blotter paper that resembles cardboard and measures 11 inches round. The Iroquois Beverage Corporation of Buffalo, New York provided them as advertisement for their beers and ales. Each of these is in great condition - ready for framing, artwork use - or just for fun at your next party.
