What a stunning portrait of Frida Kahlo in a striped shawl (rebozo a rayas). Contemplative and sedate, it shows her strength but belies her passion.
This photo was taken by Fritz Henle in 1936 and has been reproduced as a wonderful postcard in slight sepia tone.
This photo and many others were taken by Henle as a series featuring Frida and some of Diego Rivera and his models, as well. Henle was a Vanity Fair photographer and produced stunning live action photographs of the sea as well.
