Picasso's fascination with women and their bodies has long been studied - through out his works and throughout his life. Created in 1928 of gouache on plywood, the original measured 41 by 33 centimeters. The title of the piece is Duex Femmes Courant sur la Plage (Two Women Running on the Beach). The women run with abandon across the sand on the beach, reaching forward while casting no caution to the wind.
