These delicate yet strong natural beetle wings are from the Thai Emerald Beetle (sternaceras echisinata/acquisagnata). For years they have been used traditionally as jewelry and ornament. The wing is curved slightly toward the back, just as on the beetle.
The beetles die after reproducing, and the Hill Tribes in the northern forests of Thailand consider them good luck and wear them in many manners. Their natural iridescent color is just tremendous. Each one has a small hole in the wider end, ready to use in your project. Because these are so lightweight, they make wonderful earring components. Of course, each of these is different because they are natural. Wing sizes average around 1-1/4 inch long by 3/8 inch wide. Please let us choose one for you.
