The next occurrence of the Year of the Pig from the Chinese Zodiac returns in 2031, and then in 2043. Previous years were 1947, 1959, 1971, 1983, 1995, 2007, 2019. To calculate other, years, subtract or add: past (-12) and future (+12). You can also calculate birth year looking at the previous years in the Lunar cycle.

 Pigs are said to be gentle, good-tempered, honest, loyal and warm-hearted. What a wonderful group of traits for a person, the world can use more of those born in the Year of the Pig!

The orangish brown, nearly rectangular carnelian (slightly wider at the top) is beautifully carved with a tone on tone frosted oval within which the ever so slightly raised Chinese character for pig and a smiling pig are located. On the reverse are 3 or 4 other Chinese characters.

The larger rectangular bead measures 1-5/16 inch high by 7/8 inch wide.

The necklace is an adjustable sliding knot necklace. It should fit over your head and then you'll move the knots to make it longer or shorter. It is adjustable from 24 inches (not including the pendant drop) to 17 inches for a nice choker). The brown cording is nicely braided at the base with a forest green cord added to the braid.
