This lovely hand carved butterfly bead is made of dark green serpentine - so dark that you might even mistake it for black. The bead will stand on its own if you choose to use it for a memory box or ofrenda or nicho. The stringing hole runs from top to bottom through the center, so you might even create some antennae if you choose.
It measures 7/8 inch from wingtip to wing tip by 3/4 inch tall and has a profile of 3/16 inch.
