Just lovely - and perfect for any shrine or other such project! Each is an embroidered heart, oval or square with a saint’s picture on either side. Traditionally, a detente is worn (usually by a safety pin through the satin ribbon loop) to show devotion to a particular saint and to request the saint’s protection.
The body of the detente con santo is 1 inch high and about 7/8 inch wide. Gold braid frames the inner border of satin stitching. Such a lovely folk-art tradition! Some are heart-shaped, oval, round, rectangular, and, as pictured above, shrine-shaped.
No two are alike, so please let SilverCrow choose one for you.
