This delightful photo montage was created by photographer Joshua Smith. His works were quite important as he supposedly won an award at the Paris Exposition 1878.
This postcard features a reproduction of his Good Morning/Good Night Baby series. After having taken a large number of photographs of babies in the morning and at night, he created a collage of the children in different stages.
This one is Good Night - featuring putting the babies to bead or bathing them. Almost everyone of the little ones is crying.
The card reads at the bottom:
