There are two FDC envelopes included in this complete 1998 Gospel Singers First Day Covers ( Legends of American Music series) - all first being issued on July 15, 1998 in New Orleans, Louisiana:
  • Mahalia Jackson
  • Roberta Martin
  • Clara Ward
  • Sister Rosetta
FDCs are offered as specially cancelled stamps on the first day that they were issued by the USPS. The envelopes feature black & white illustrations of the Gospel Singers on the stamps.

The stamps alone, or with their envelopes, are also appropriate for mail art.

Because the stamps have already been canceled, you will not be able to use them for mailing.

The name and address of the recipient has been covered for privacy reasons, but will be on the envelopes that you receive. The envelopes have not been sealed and they originally were mailed as a set in an outer envelope for protection.

One of the envelopes has a slight crease at the bottom right corner.
