Quite popular in the early 1900s, metamorphic illustrations featured images that were interconnected ideologically as well as in their art.
This interesting card shows several women in intense conversation, presumably in the midst of a real gossip session. Their faces, hats, arms and more interconnect, so that at first glance we see a demon o sorts (his head composed of the lights in the lady's room or the theatre where the women are talking.
The original illustration was a pencil drawing and has been reproduced quite nicely.
