Hand-Made Paper Marigold

These sweet marigolds almost look like boutonnières! Each is the size of a natural marigold - each varies slightly because it is handmade. The marigolds are made with love and care by artisans in Mexico for celebrations such as the Day of the Dead.

They would be great for a shrine or an ofrenda as they mimic the real large Mexican marigolds used in cemeteries and for the Dia de los Muertos remembrances. Legend has it that spirits of the dead visit the living on these special days. And the marigolds show the celebrated muertos to the ofrendas. The tiny stems are wrapped in bright green crepe paper and then curled. The stem can be straightened easily. The blossom may need fluffed a bit when it arrives, but that should take only seconds!
