These are sprigs made of real goose feathers -
the same way they were made in the early days of holiday
decorating! Each is handmade from dyed goose feathers. The feathers are
applied individually in the same manner as in 19th century
These were designed and
created for Sandy Elliott, who pioneered in recreating vintage
Victorian Christmas items for display and for crafting. Alas, her
business no longer exists, but we were fortunate enough to be able
to obtain some of these wonderful sprigs before she closed. We
recently rediscovered them and are proud to offer them to you.
These are still made by other manufacturers, but we were quite
taken by these.
Each sprig is just
about 2 inches long and 1-1/4 inch wide with a 1-1/2 inch stem and
is finished with a berry tip. This Ivory (Cream) sprig is tipped by a matching white berry.
Now you can
reproduce all of those wonderful Victorian Ornaments. Let Santa carry
one as a miniature tree. Combine some reproduction Christmas
Die Cuts with some stretched Krausbouillion and one of these
sprigs, sprinkle on some mica (a little glue helps!) and voilà - a
