Kuan Yin (??) is the Bodhisattva (or, goddess) of compassion. Although she is most commonly known in the west as a woman, Kuan Yin is just as likely to be represented as a man, a younger Buddha.
She is also known as the Goddess of Compassion and Mercy by many, making her quite a reverential being meant to help the sentient beings. She is often considered immortal. The name Kuan Yin is short for Kuan-shih Yin, meaning,
