When I was a little girl, I learned how to make these little cups from an article in an encyclopedia. I love them. But, at the time, I made larger ones from notebook paper. Even with plain, lightweight paper, you can use a cup made in this fashion to get a drink of water. It will last a long time before soaking through the paper.
Over time, I learned to make them in smaller sizes and using specialty paper. These are not exactly according to origami standards - they were meant more to be created for survival.
But, we love to glue these to cards and then add other little stuff inside!
Each one measures 1-3/8 inch at the top opening and 9/16 at the base and is 1 inch high.
I make these while watching a television show or in a car on a long trip. Sometimes we include them in our little kits and sometimes as bonuses.
We've had requests to buy these, so we thought we'd offer them. These are made with high quality yuzen washi paper that has been cut for origami.
We're showing multiple cups so that you might see the variation.
