The glorious six syllable mantra is particularly associated with the four-armed Padma means "the lotus". The mantra is especially revered by devotees of the Dalai Lama, as he is said to be an incarnation of Chenrezig or Avalokiteshvara.
It has been said that all of the teachings of the Buddha can be found in this mantra. Because of that, it cannot really be translated into a simple phrase or sentence. This very special mantra frees us from the real world, so perhaps that is why there is no real translation, as it is the translation of
