This reproduction retablo features the classic image Our Lady of Mount Carmel pictures Mary and Jesus holding scapulars and wearing crowns.
Our retablo gives a sense of a vintage treasure, but it was made in the late 1990s. The sepia toned image, with muted colors, has been applied to a metal backing, as you'll find of traditional artifacts. The image edges are frayed much in the same way of the originals.
The traditional hanging method is to drive a regular nail through the top center of the retablo directly into the wall. Of course, if you prefer, framing is another option or you may choose to attach a hanging hook on the back.
This one of a kind retablo measures 9-3/4 inches high by 7-5/8 inches wide.
Our Lady of Mount Carmel ---- Mary & Jesus - holding scapulars - with crowns
This image and Our Lady of Mt Carmel herself are associated with the brown scapular and always associated with Peace. In fact, the exploding of the atomic bomb test in New Mexico coincided with the Feast Day of Our Lady of Mt Carmel. So, she is often associated with anti-war movement.
