Saint Francis was one of the greatest mystics in all of Christendom. He was the son of a wealthy merchant who embraced the life of poverty in imitation of the life of Jesus. His body bore the wounds of Christ, the stigmata granted by God to his holiest of servants.
They say that animals would follow him and sit at his feet, and that birds came to rest in trees where he took shelter from the sun. His canticle to the sun an moon and the "Prayer of Saint Francis" are among the deepest of all Christian Reflections.
This lovely color pendant measures 1 inch by 3/4 inch and arrives on a 24 inch chain with a spring ring closure. It features Saint Francis with birds, including an owl.
