Saint Genesius Medal - Patron Saint of Actors, Lawyers, Performers

Saint Genesius was a Roman actor who performed during the time of Emperor Diocletian in the third century. During a performance, he was playing a Christian who was about to be baptized - this was a farce and meant to be a satire of the Christian sacrament. During the performance, Genesius was converted to Christianity when he saw angels surrounding him.

This, of course, enraged the emperor and Genesius was eventually beheaded for his faith. This is his story, which may well be legend, but he was canonized and is now the patron saint of actors, comedians, dancers, musicians, lawyers, torture victims and attorneys, among others.
