Saint Anthony of Padua was born a wealthy nobleman, but, much to the consternation of his family, he became a poor Franciscan Friar. He was such a wonderful speaker, that it was rumored that even the fishes loved to listen to him.
St Anthony's patronage is very broad, but he is best known as the patron who helps retrieve lost things. He also protects sailors, pregnant women and the poor and starving.
Our lovely medal arrives with an entreaty, such as pray for us on the reverse.
