As lovers of crows, ravens and other blackbirds; as well as cats and dogs, and animals altogether, we especially identify with St. Francis of Assisi.

Saint Francis lived from 1182 through 1226 and is the founder of the Franciscan Order. He is one of the most famous and beloved saints of the Catholic Church. He renounced worldly wealth, preaching the importance of simplicity and poverty based on the ideals of the Gospel. He was known for his love of nature and animals, especially birds.

The image on the front is of S. Franciscus Assisiensi (St Francis of Assisi) holding and surrounded by his beloved birds. A golden halo is shown about his head and the card is bordered with a lovely golden motif.

On the back of the card is the classic prayer of  "Lord, Make me an Instrument of Your Peace..."
