As lovers of crows, ravens and other blackbirds; as well as cats and dogs, and animals altogether, we especially identify with St. Francis of Assisi.

Saint Francis lived from 1182 through 1226 and is the founder of the Franciscan Order. He is one of the most famous and beloved saints of the Catholic Church. He renounced worldly wealth, preaching the importance of simplicity and poverty based on the ideals of the Gospel. He was known for his love of nature and animals, especially birds.

On the back of the card is the classic prayer of Saint Francis, "Lord, Make me an Instrument of Your Peace..."
