Vintage Bee or Butterfly Applique Patch with Gold Bullion Passementerie

We're not sure if this is supposed to be - a bee, a butterfly, a flower, or something else entirely; but whatever it is, we fell in love with it.

The refined look that the gold metal bullion brings to this patch is astounding. The black stitching across the wings (petals) breathes life into them. The red patch in the center looks brilliant highlighted with the gold, just as the gold is made even brighter by the red. 

This vintage applique patch is made with real gold metal bullion attached to a black base.
