Hailing from the late 1950s, we have a vintage complimentary
ticket to the Carson & Barnes Wild Animal Circus. Paper tickets like these were given to people who signed a
contract to let the Circus put a sign in their yard or their business' window.
There is a nice image of an
elephant and a lion. It measures 4-7/16 inches wide by 3-3/8 inches high.
These tickets were found in the garage of a fellow who worked for the Circus from 1958 through 1962. It was his job to proceed the circus and prime the town for the performances. He offered free tickets to those who put signs up in their yards and businesses who put posters in their windows. He also took proofs for advertising in the local newspapers.
