Lokta paper is renowned for its durability and texture. This special paper is resistant to insects and tearing, which led to its use for religious and governmental documents in Nepal. These journals are over 20 years ago and the paper looks the same as when new. If only we aged so well.

The paper is made from the bark of the Lokta bush found in the Himalayas. The bark is harvested by cutting the bush above the ground, leaving the plant to grow back within a few years. This is a truly eco-friendly and sustainable product.

We are offering you these small journals in an assortment of beautiful covers:
The Eternal Knot (Srivatsa) - represents the ultimate unity of everything
The Golden Fish (Gaurmatsya) - represents the Ganges and Yamuna, sacred rivers of India
The Buddha's Footprints (Buddhapada) - represents the path walked by the Buddha
The Sacred Hand (Hamsa/Abhaya Mudra) - universal sign of protection, peace and fearlessness
Please allow for some minor variation and imperfection due to the handmade nature.
