Here's your "Man in the Moon" artisan necklace.

Step back into the whimsical celestial art trends of the 1990s with this one-of-a-kind, hand-sculpted artisan pendant necklace. 

Signed by the artist - hand molded from fine white artisan art clay. The clay's authentic, slightly raw, matte texture can be seen inside the clean hanging loop at the top - so you know it wasn't mass produced.

Coated in a warm mustard / golden-yellow stain and flooded with a dark antiqued wash glaze. The dark wash settles beautifully into the sculpted facial lines, wrinkles, and signature on the back to highlight the fine details. The tinsel fringe is threaded through the accent the top tip and bottom point of the crescent moon. The back of the crescent features the artist's authentic incised signature and the date. 

The necklace features a sliding slip-knot closure, allowing you to easily adjust the cord to your preferred custom length. It arrives in a sari-cloth pouch for safekeeping, or gift-giving.

This unique moon beautifully bridges the line between wearable jewelry and studio folk art. When you aren't wearing it, hang it up in your home as a charming piece of miniature wall art between wearings!

The backstory: This specific piece was purchased directly from the artist at the prestigious Three Rivers Arts Festival in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania during the early 1990s. It has been lovingly cared for in a single private collection ever since, making it a beautiful piece of studio craft history.
