These vintage millinery leaves will double as devil or dark faerie wings ever so easily! They are from decades ago and are made with precision. The black mesh is still very black (not faded) even though these are new old stock.
The edges of the mesh are accented with silver borders and feature dark purple and white wrapped wire stems. The top of the stems were probably wrapped in black originally, but that wrapping often fades. The photo is misleading as the stem wraps are a bit darker than they appear.
These are great for altering! Consider using interference and metallic inks on them. You might also want to embroider them. The mesh should be easily pierced by a sharp needle. There are just so many possibilities!
Each bunch contains a dozen vintage leaves/wings. These are really called flower accents, so you know there are many adventures in creating ahead with them!
The black mesh part is 1-5/16 inch at the widest by 2 inches from point to base. The stem is a little bit over 4 inches long. The dark part of the stem is 1-1/4 inch and the rest is white. The entire length is about 6 inches.
It seems to us that the vintage millinery leaves and flowers are so much more distinctive than those we find today. Perhaps that's because most of the older pieces such as these were made by hand - even the stems were hand wrapped.
