Vintage St Pius X Round Medal - Pope of the Blessed Sacrament (Eucharist)

Saint Pius X was the Roman Catholic Pope from 1903 until his death in 1914. Born Giuseppe Melchiorre Sarto in Italy, he was known for his personal commitment to personal poverty and holiness. He promoted liturgical reforms and orthodox theology, directing the 1917 Code of Canon Law, He was canonized as a Catholic Saint in 1954.

Because he lowered the age of First Communion to 6 or 7 years of age (still in effect) and for other such devotion to early religious study, he is often referred to as the Pope of the Blessed Sacrament (Pope of the Eucharist).

This vintage round aluminum medal measures 7/8 inch in diameter. The hanging loop adds and additional 1/8 inch.
