We love old labels - particularly old gummed labels - with water-activated adhesive. These wonderful circular labels were created for the United States Travel Line back in the 1940s. This was a luxury line that offered many a transatlantic ocean voyage in the elegant 1940s and 1950s.
These cruise ships were some of the first to boast air-conditioned dining rooms - imagine! Cabin class was really first class of the day. So, these were quite special labels.
The letter in the center of the eagle's shield varies. We have a limited variety and the photo is an example.
(Although these could be licked to activate, we are not really sure of their absolute source or age, so we suggest you use a damp sponge to activate the adhesive - or, better yet, use an additional paper glue.)
Each label reads:
How perfect for your travel collage! We've seen these on eBay and elsewhere for much more!
