A spectacular, rare find for the vintage crafter and industrial mercantile collector! This authentic, store-sized spool of Ribbonette was produced by the Chicago Printed String Co., a company renowned for defining the art of mid-century gift presentation.

Unlike later cardboard variations, this incredibly well-preserved piece features a solid metal spool with lithographed metal end caps. The vibrant yellow, brown, and cream branding graphics and typography are printed directly onto the metal surface, giving it a wonderful weight, sheen, and unmatched display value.

This is a fantastic, very early example of paper curling ribbon. Long before modern smooth plastic ribbon took over, this premium paper ribbon featured a distinctive micro-ribbed, crimped texture that allows it to hold a crisp, tight curl beautifully. The ribbon is a soft pastel baby blue, elegantly outlined with a crisp white border on both edges for a striking contrast.

Perfect for adding an authentic retro touch to your packaging, utilizing in mixed-media art, or showcasing as a premium piece of general store history on your shelf.

Condition Note: Incredible vintage condition. The lithographed metal caps are bright with wonderful graphics and only minor, authentic edge wear. The paper ribbon remains clean, vibrant, and completely usable.
